May the One who blessed our ancestors --

Patriarchs Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob,

Matriarchs Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel, and Leah --

bless and heal the one who is ill.


May the Holy Blessed One

overflow with compassion upon her,

to restore her,

to heal her,

to strengthen her,

to enliven her.


The One will send her, speedily,

a complete healing --

healing of the soul and healing of the body --

along with all the ill,

among the people of Israel and all humankind,

soon,

speedily,

without delay,

and let us all say: Amen!






Dear Jesus, Divine Physician and Healer of the sick, we turn to you in this time of illness. O dearest comforter of the troubled, alleviate our worry and sorrow with your gentle love, and grant us the grace and strength to accept this burden. Dear God, we place our worries in your hands. We place our sick under your care and humbly ask that you restore your servant to health again. Above all, grant us the grace to acknowledge your will and know that whatever you do, you do for the love of us. Amen.

thank you all again. mom is the strongest woman i know.
i am in constant amazement of her.

they told her yesterday that she wouldn't be scheduled for today
then they came in when she was sound asleep at 12:30 and said she
might have it done today so she didn't sleep much after that.
of course today they've said she won't have it. i want to throttle
whomever came in and worried her for nothing.

We're scheduled for Monday. I've just come back from helping her wash her hair and have a shower. She's first up in the morning so we should know how things went by mid afternoon. Thank you all for keeping her in your thoughts


p.s. nbj and pk... she's (and me too of course) a bit ticked off as this means no Arizona this winter.
let's just cross fingers that next year is still a go!

So far so good. She's made it out of surgery and is still blissfully asleep. Hopefully she's off the vent when I go back after my catnap.

She's going to be just fine, emm I remember when my dad had his surgery - the recovery was so hard on him - but, the exercise is so important.

Today Mom finally woke from the anesthetic and came off the vent. It was good to actually see "her" as opposed to that other woman that didn't look so much like my mother.

It was sweet to see my father keep referring to her by her maiden name... as though the last 55 years had vanished and she was that teenager that he fell in love with. And he did it quite honestly. He'd shake his head oops every time he said it.
