It's best to eat ASAP to achieve the greatest insuline response, although recent studies have shown that the window of opportunity lasts for about 24 hrs. If you wait an hour that's fine too, guess I'm just stuck with those old habits. I prefer to drink a protein shake about 15 minutes before I start working and another one as soon as I'm done and then 30 minutes after that post-workout shake have a solid meal. No veggies (lots of fibres) right after my workout though. That slows down digestion and you want those nutrients to be available ASAP. [Edited 5/30/08 5:17am] | |
