you have healthier choices than us in the UK..

i mean what the hell is cheese in a can..

and waitrose is where it is at, although i get most of my food delivered from local farms and the natural/organic food supplier able and cole.

See if you do it that way then it is good.
I used to get half a pig , organically fed and lots of natural beef every year and store it in the freezer.

me too, its the only way, i do not eat intensively farmed meat
i think it is disgusting the way they farm and grow animals and even more disgusting
the way they kill and package them onto unsuspecting consumers...

When someone is new to a country, it seems difficult (or impossible) to find the items you want, you don't know the names of the shops or what they sell, so you decide it just doesn't exist. Which really isn't true--ya just have to know where to look.

I had an Orger friend visiting from New Zealand last year. I pointed him in the general direction of a good grocery store within walking distance before I left for work one morning--he walked in the opposite direction and ended up at the 7-11. So for awhile he thought THAT was where I went shopping for food....

Grainy breads, fresh produce, sliced cheese, organic meats, etc.--it all exists unless you're in podunk, USA. Ask around.

very wise words my dear. Allthough I can remember from both my visits to the UK and the US that the search for healthy alternatives is so much more difficult than it is here in mainland Europe. I can get fresh fruit, veggies, fish, meat virtually on every streetcorner.

If it were me I'd find myself a place in southern France or Spain and live the good life their, getting fresh food from local farmers and fisherman ... I'll need to work some more to get that done though sad

But the UK got Gordon Ramsey and he's hilarious falloff

Nothing bad about ramen noodles if you combine them with fresh prawns, veggies and real stock.

Whole Foods is likely where you will want to shop at.

There are plenty of resturants all over the spectrum, including some that serve raw food. smile

typically you will find farmer markets set up at a corner lot near you on the weekends stocked with seasonal fruits and veggies and other home-made goodies and even fresh flowers. Its just not the season for it yet.

REALLY!?!? I've totally learned something here. I know the history behind it, but I thought chitterlings -- at least in the U.S. -- were almost exclusively an African American thing anymore. Do many Latino families eat this stuff?

nod you can also go for very thinly sliced pork or beef. Cook up the stock, throw in the ramen, then the green veggies, at the last minute throw in the meat and finish with fresh, cut up coriander

flavour with pepper, salt, sambal and maybe some sesame oil.
