She's either telling the truth and doesn't want christmas presents or she's lying and wants christmas presents. The cynical and indifferent know not what they miss. For their mistake is an impediment not only to our progress as a civilization but to their happiness as individuals.

My mom has a tendency to say things like this too. She's not trying to be difficult and it's not that she doesn't mean it. She just feels our money should be spent elsewhere - which of course it's silly. She's always been like that...puts herself last.

She probably would not mind a small gift with meaning but does not want you to go crazy and spend too much on her.

this is Spat's territory if I've ever seen it... "People used to attack me and say it was a conflict of interest: I was the manager, I was the record company, I was the publisher, and I would say, Yes, of course, conflict of interest, but it’s in their favor, you stupid fuck." - Berry Gordy

1. She wants a present not an expensive one 2. she wants a present but an expensive one 3. No i havnt been listening to her! DOH!! now i need to come up with a present that has meaning hmmmmm any good sites out there that i can get an idea? flowers as well!! How "old" are you? The thing that's cool for me and my woman is that I know what she wants by instinct alone but that's written in my DNA. I thought it was in most men but apparently not. Think about her likes and buy a bunch of small things for the stocking (bath/skin stuff she uses are a good starter), in combo with 1 big thing (insert the most money you can spend on X-Mas for her) and she'll be happy, which is what it's all about. Just surprise her with something you know she likes and make a note to yourself to listen to her more if you fuck up, she'll be happy you made the attempt. Flowers will make her think you're guilty of something if you don't normally buy them. How Old am I sometimes I feel like im ninty In the last yr my wife has given Birth,(our second) and all our time is wrapped up in the kids , whats worse is I work 12 hrs shifts (weekends and night days bank holidays) on my rest days shes at work kids either at school or nursery. we dont get to spend the time I want just her and me I know children need our time as well, but i feel guilty about not spending quality time with her, just her, dont get me wrong I Love my kids adore them to bits would die for them. I know in a couple of yrs we will look on this time as being quite busy for the both us. I seemed to have lost that kind of knowing what she wants, It happened when our first was born and I had to do 3 jobs. So all im asking is do you know any sites that cater for a hopeless romatic that loves his wife after nearly 20 yrs together. many thanks for your time

Body Works store will hook you up with the bath oils and lotions. Next available minute (when you're not surfing the net on the Org) or the next time you can get a lunch hour back to the mall and pull from you're earliest memories of 20 years ago, what little things make her happy. It really can't be that hard to do, you love her obviously, start there, why? My point is spend the time, make the damn time to get her things with a thought behind them and not from a web site or Walmart. That's what will really make her feel the way you want her to feel and it won't have to cost you an arm and a leg unless you want it to. From the sounds of it, just a weekend away with whatever small things you get her would really accomplish what you both need. Many your welcomes...
