Severe pain HELP!

Ok so after 22 some odd years in the same field I have run into very serious pain. My arms are in front of me the majority of the day not unlike computer folk)

Last evening my back up around and right under the back strap location was in such serious pain i called my daughter to come to me and press the heals of her hands and then her knee into it until we heard 2 cracks... the pain was so severe that I was near tears.... I could not breathe.... ( This from a woman who did 36 hours in hard labor drug free) This morning I called to my son who did the same... but in the night, I experienced what must have been muscle spasms. 4 times even.... cry

To the point: I am not a huge fan of chiropractic.. AT ALL... at the very least, I am a non force fan..... as I have taken a hydrocordon ( which is vicodin) it is clear I am in a situation....

What I am seeking, Info from you that is homeopathic in nature as well as natural physically.... H E L P !

Give me of the wealth of your experience i am open minded!

Sometimes these things just need resting and no drugs or therapy are really going to help. I would suggest going to see your doctor and finding out what the actual problem is.

Then you can see if it is something that you can use alternative therapies for. I am a great believer in alternative therapies. Just make sure you see someone reputable. I have had acupuncture on my back and shoulders and can not recommend it highly enough.

Also... you need to think about the fact that you are 'a little heavy' on top lol that brings it own problems with backs as I am sure you don't need me to tell you.

Feel free to moan away, my back and ribs are in a similar situation but that is due to teh baby thinking it is a drum kit!

Miss you kiss2

Phils sis gave me Arnica to try recently when I was having severe shoulder, neck and arm pain.
It took some time but I think it helped. Soaking in Epsom salt might help as well. I used to do that when I tore my rotator cuff.
You need to find out exactly where the pain is coming from before you go to a chiropractor. I learned that lesson when I tore my rotator cuff a few years ago.

Hope you feel better soon.

Arnica?

Arnica (Ár-ni-ca) is a genus with about 30 perennial, herbaceous species, belonging to the sunflower family (Asteraceae). The genus name Arnica may be derived from the Latin arna, "lamb", in reference to the soft, hairy leaves.

This circumboreal and montane genus occurs mostly in the temperate regions of western North America, while two are native to Eurasia (A. angustifolia and A. montana).

Arnica used to be included in the tribe Senecioneae, because it has a pappus of fine bristles. This was soon questioned and Nordenstam (1977) placed it tentatively in tribe Heliantheae s.l. This arrangement also became uncertain because of the sesquiterpene lactone chemistry in certain species. Lately Arnica was placed in an unresolved clade together with Madiinae, Eupatorieae, Heliantheae s.s. and Pectidinae.

Several species, such as Arnica montana and Arnica chamissonis contain helenalin, a sesquiterpene lactone that is a major ingredient in anti-inflammatory preparations (mostly against bruises).

Arnica species are used as food plants by the larvae of some Lepidoptera species including Bucculatrix arnicella.

In herbal medicine, Arnica usually refers to Arnica montana, a mountain plant used for relief of bruises, stiffness, and muscle soreness. Arnica is widely used as a salve for bruises and sprains [1], and sometimes as a tincture [2], for the same anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving purposes. Tablets are also available. In homeopathy it has a wider use.[1] It is available in natural/health food stores, most commonly in gel form, to be applied to the affected area approximately three times daily.

Acupuncture and massage have worked near miricals on people I know who have had major pain issues - dont overlook having your feet worked on as well
( reflexlogy )

Healing mineral spas or soak in your tub with empson salts and or sea salts

try Arnica internally and externally you can also add Rescue Remedy to the days you are in pain - look also into St John's wort oil

Go to your local Homeopathic Pharmacy and talk with them

Find out about exercize that helps strech the constant restricted areas

Ouch! Don't do that! lol

Trained chiropractors are bad enough, you don't need untrained anklebiters to mess up your joints too.

Girl...I know from back problems. I fell off an icy porch and didn't heal properly until I was able to go for physical therapy. I did have some muscle relaxers in the begining, but the physical therapy is what did it for me. I'm still (God willing) pain free to this day.

I would see the doctor and try to get into some physical therapy treatments, pronto.

Try Tai Chi as well if you're considering acunpuncture.

Both revolve around the idea that Chi in your body is out of line (could be cause by stress factors), and both seek to realign the Chi.

It's pseudo-science of course, but it seems to work for lots of people.

Tai chi is excellent stretching and muscle work from what I have seen...

I do need to build my core up again.... I do think that is it.... I am carrying extra weight and not working out at all. It will build the muscles up that support the back.

oh if you want lower back support, shoes and crunches.

A strong stomach reinforces the lower back.
Shoes are a REALLY big reason why alot of folks have back pain.
