Anybody else HATE Windows Vista?

I need access to the internet for school and turns out a site I need to visit is not compatible with Vista so I can't do my homework online. And my stupid job's Outlook is not compatible with Internet Explorer 7. :explode:

Can any help me with this?

The new version of Word sucks ass. I still haven't figured it out yet.

You are the second person to suggest Firefox.

Unless you have worked with Microsoft BOB, you can't complain.

Sounds like a browser issue?

What does the site do, attempt to download components that run locally on your workstation? confuse
I'm not sure why Vista would not work with that as it's just a cleaned up, slightly bloated revamp of XP with a new UI.

Perhaps a different browser like firefox or Apple's browser might work? confuse

It probably is a browser issue but it seems that, with as much as my school charges, they woul hve done something to get ready for Vista and IE7.

I don't have Vista installed yet falloff

It's one of those things where the upgrade to it didn't excite me all that much. When I found out they didn't implement the SQL-abstraction-layer File system thingy and were keeping the registry, I figured it was just XP SP3. lol

But alot of companies are holding off on implementing Visa right away. I work in a company of about 140,000 employees and there aren't even rumblings about adopting it yet.

I think Microsoft is going to need to discontinue support for XP to get the ball going.

But install firefox and see if it's not just the browser that's giving you problems.

I prefer Maxthon. Though it uses IE engine, it's much better. I don't like Firefox too much, but anything is better than IE.

Vista sucks. It's not compatible with most professional software and hardware yet. Plus the resources it takes are too much. You have to buy a powerful computer just to spend all of its' power on operating the Vista. XP still works better.

Vista came with my new laptop but I would have just as well bought a computer with XP on it.

Our company isn't looking to upgrade to Vista either. Considering my work laptop is a ThinkPad, I'm not suprised. rolleyes

I'd give it time. Like Casey Spooner, all operating systems improve with age.

If you still can't get your stuff to work, you might want to consider buying a copy of XP and taking Vista off your system.

I got a new computer this week that came with Vista Basic, so far I'm not having any trouble with it, and its really not that different than XP.

My biggest complaint is that some of the programs I really like Windowblinds isn't Vista compatible yet.

Also for the life of me I can't figure out how to make my desktop icons smaller even after I changed the resolution to like 1400 but those icons didn't resize.

I'd save the money and buy a flat widescreen monitor cause I'm falling in love with mine.

Omg use firefox already! falloff How can you be using IE? ill

As for Word...it is MILES better. People always piss and moan about a learning curve again, but we wouldn't have innovation without change. Word..in fact the whole of Office 2007...is brilliant. All that was changed was the UI (and a new sub-pixel font rendering method...but that doesn't change office). Jesus.

Why is it that people are SO willing to adopt Apple's new OSes and changes, yet the second Microsoft change the red X in WindowsXP to a rectangular X in Vista everyone's up in arms threatening to kill their children?
