Trent Reznor won for Best Score for "The Girl With The Dragon Tatoo"

Best World Album went to Ravi Shankar for his "The Living Room Sessions Pt. 1"

Bjork won Best Recording Package "Biliophila" (SP?)

Robert Glasper won for Best R&B Album

I guess NaS can forget about ever winning anything while Jay-Z has something out.

Even Mr. Softee himself won Best Rap Album of the Year. Oh....Drake.

Rihanna won Best Short Form Video for "We Found Love".

But did Beyonce really out perform Anita Baker's "Lately" with her "Love On Top" to win Best Traditional R&B Performance?

Usher's "Climax" won over Miguel's "Adorn" for Best R&B Performance.

I don't think Mary Mary's loud "Go Get It" should have won over James Fortune's "Hold On" But that's just me.

The Grammys definitely were more indie-lite friendly this year compared to year's past in the Pop/Rock categories. However, they still are missing the mark in the sub or less popular categories. And they're sitill are wasting nominations with Taylor Swift's "Never Ever...." and "Call Me Maybe". I mean, that's what the AMA's are for right Dick Clark? (RIP)

Oh.... Prince Rogers Nelson is still the coolest mafucka in the Earth.

That's great for Robert Glasper, but how in the world was "Black Radio" an R&B album? confuse

Well that sucks. The last thing Usher recorded that was worthy of an award was the "Confessions" album.

cool Oh yes, that he is.

I didn't see LL's performance at the end...shucks after I saw P, I turned the channel. I was done.

The only performances I enjoyed (from the parts I saw) were the Bob Marley tribute with Sting, Kelly Clarkson and Jack White's.

I said the same thing when the nominations first came out and people were saying that Beyonce deserved to win the Grammy but I personally think Melanie Fionna or Anita could have won that. But of course their going to give it to Beyonce because she is a "grammy darling". I think Love on Top is more pop R&B than traditional

I LOVE Lately by Anita and find it to be more traditional than Love on Top which is more pop.

While I dont like Miguel, Adorn was like the best song that came out last year. That song was playing EVERY WHERE. He definitly should have won it over Usher but its the same situation like it is with Beyonce, HIS USHER, so they are going to give it to him.

I LOVE Mary Mary but I AGREE.... Hold On is a better gospel song... Go Get It... was okay.

While this year was better, the Grammys still have alot of politics and favorites. I personally dont care either way. The Grammys are a joke to me. Acts like Kanye, Beyonce, Jay, Alicia etc have 17/20 grammys eek and acts like Erykah, Jill, Anothony, Mint Condition, Queen, Bob Marley, have none or like 1 or 2.

RIDICULOUS...

I am not trying to complain but just saying. I think this year was an improvement similiar to last year.

Aretha better watch out. Beyonce earned her 16th Grammy last night.hrmph Aretha has 18 (20 if you count the special awards). If Beyonce releases another album before Aretha does, she will probably surpass the Queen of Soul for the most Grammys won by a black female and will probably be dubbed the new Queen of Soul.lol Aretha will be on the war-path if that happens.

Superficial Ish....

Jennifer Lopez showed Angelina Jolie how to showcase a leg at an award show. That thigh looked delicious. Ms. Jolie's looked like chicken gristle or something. lol

Carrie Underwood red carpet dress was beautiful. Too bad she didn't have much curves to fill it out. But she looked great. Great set too later in the show. The girl can actually sing.

Oh yeah. My man Frank. Frank either was nervous or desperately needs to tour more to strengthen his voice. Very underwhelmed (or sleep induced) by his performance. I guess the Grammys asked him to perform "Forrest Gump" to provide "edginess" to the show. "Pyramid" should've been nominated instead of "Thinking About You" and probably would've have performed better last night too.

Bruno Mars is going to be around for awhile.

Maybe one day Prince will make a record that would take the industry and masses by storm again. I know, I know, call me a dreamer. lol lol

Kelly Rowland can still get.

Don't know if Katy's are real or not but they're beautiful. Whoever said that Katy is the new Dolly was hilarious! lol

I love Adele but ........yeah, grandma's drapes, grandma's sofa pattern, grandma's quilt, anything grandma related. lol

Fun. didn't even acknowledge their featured artist on their biggest hit "We Are Young". THey had several chances too. Janelle will get her shine eventually though. No sweat.

oh yeah.....pardon my cynical side but Justin Timberlake's label, manager, public relations, or somebody in his camp earned their check last night. I thought Jesus was returning to bless us lowly humans with his great return to music. We're so not worthy. Between the constant announcement during the commercial breaks of "His return to music" and the Target commercials, his label can rest assured that his pre-sale campaign is successfully underway.

I know that its his job to promote his new music but damn....

OH YEA

THE BIGGEST SNUB

Drake and Jay Z both won OVER NAS!?!?!?!

What the hell was that about?????? eek

At this point, I dont care. lol lol lol

The Shammys are meaningless.... they can win 45 grammys it still doesnt make a difference.

Nominations mean nothing if the people who are nominated who deserve to win, dont win.

I agree with what the other poster said earlier, if I was nominated in a category with a grammy darling, I wouldnt waste my time going to the Grammys either.

Thats probably why Anthony Hamilton never goes to these things.

On Outfits:

I did think Jlo looked nice to. She doesnt look like shes 42! Similiar to Janet they both have aged well.

Esperanza looked gorgeous as well as Janelle Monae of course.

Beyonce looked pretty but her outfit was okay to me as well as her hair (she really needs to change her look up). I thought Kelly's look was better although it was more revealing.

Rihanna looked nice as well.

FUCK THE GRAMMYS THOUGH, NASIR JONES STILL HASN'T WON A GRAMMY AND THEY ARE GIVING FUCKING KANYE AND JAY-Z THOSE STUPID AWARDS FOR Watch The Throne, an average album at that! What the fuck... :/ How the fuck does No Church In The Wild win over Cherry Wine with Nas feat Amy Winehouse, or N**gas In paris win over Daugthers and Take Care by Drake instead of Life Is Good??? It seems to me that the rap category only gives out awards to commerical garbage, they still don't understand rap after 30 years of existence. I feel sorry for Nas, they just don't understand real rappers when they see them. He's been in the industry for over 20 years and stupid Jay-Z, Kanye and Drake has less time than him and yet they still get all the awards...

Yes it is fixed! My problem is the message they are sending to people about rap, because it's so wrong on so many levels. Instead of awarding a person who's talented and who tries to comment on the state of urban communities, they give it to some schumck like Drake that is only where he is because his connections in the industry. Kanye & Jay only wins because the hype they have created. Many of my fav artists haven't won grammy awards and I generally don't care, but I think many Nas fans are going to be dissapointed because Cherry Wine was the song everyone thought was going to make him win for the first time, since Amy was on it.

Prince shut it down! Point blank. The man came in and stole the show. The entrance, his walk, voice, cane, clothes, every damn thang. P just has presence! Show these other cats how it's supposed to be done. He knows how to bring the drama, a pro.

I got texts from back east telling me when Prince came on so I didn't have to watch all of this foolishness. I flicked back & forth, missed more than I watched. LL Kool J looks a lot like Christopher Dorner. Be careful while driving homie!

I caught the end of Jack White, and he was gettin' it! I liked Bruno Mars, & Damian Marley, and the jazz trio. I missed Kelly Clarkson, she is known to deliver. I was nice to see Donna Summer, Robin Gibb, Dick Clark, Sugarfoot, Chris Lighty, Andy Williams, and so many other shown in the In Memoriam segment.

I caught Miguel, and he sounded all over the place and off key. Frank Ocean sounded awful and flat. I said from day one I wasn't impressed with this bullfrog sounding ninja, and I'm still not. They're both so overrated, that's it's not even funny. It's just sad how people hype up the mediocre and subpar. *sigh*

Fashion - The men cleaned up well, Chris Brown, Nas, etc. I thought J Lo killed it. Kelly Rowland has been looking great. It was sexy, but she has the body for it, and works hard to look that way. They're entertainers, not nuns. I don't expect them to walk down the street looking that way. Rihanna's red gown looked gorgeous. Adele's grandma dress aged her 5 decades. Janelle Monae looked like a matador. Johnny Depp looked like a bum, and The Dream looked a fool on the red carpet with knit hat, with a snap back over it. I thought Beyonce looked plain for The Grammy's.
