293. Michael Jackson - Earth Song

MJ, as expected, already has the widest representation here, and I didnt want to post his songs, but I have to do it. lol

This is his best "save the world" song, and I know that it will ignore here .... I love it. wink

Great choice.

Magnificent song.

295) The Show - Doug E. Fresh & The Get Fresh Crew

Probably already known to most hardcore Prince fans, as he played this live at some 'Newpower Soul' tour shows. Contains music from the Inspector Gadget theme song, and lyrics from The Beatles' "Michelle".

297. You Never Even Called Me By My Name ~ David Allan Coe

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

298. Bette Midler - The Rose

Via the tube, this video is from the movie. I am also adding the soundtrack version that does not have the added strings and orchestration that is often played on the radio, I like this one better.

Credit goes to the poster for the animation in this video.

(310) Vincent (Starry, Starry Night) - Don McLean

Although known for his mega hit, American Pie, Vincent is about his admiration for the painter Vincent Van Gogh. Great Lyrics, Great Melody, Sung Masterfully. Subtleness that should be learned by the great female singers of today. No screaming necessary...Christina. Such an emotional song...one of the final lines, "But I could have told you Vincent, this world was never meant for one as beautiful as you" is heartbreaking.

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.
