I've been coming to this site for awhile and I hope you all got what you wanted. It doesn't matter if you liked her music or not, she never did anything to personally offend you. She was loved by many, and for the first time ever, I truly understand the meaning of "Rest in Peace". May she finally rest in peace from the haters, media and parasites that were in her life and contributed(along with herself) to her unfortunately death.
That's how I feel too. I have a bit of a twisted humor, so I was guilty of a few jokes sometimes, but I've always loved her music and she always made me laugh in her interviews for being so nutty and entertaining, and making references like "kang of r&b" was fun, and I was absolutely in shock. I remember if people said she was going to die of drugs, I would think about her music, how Mariah got through her breakdown (though I know now it's a different situation, I was younger then) and say she's going to be fine, and she was with her upcoming comeback, until now. Most famous people on TV act like that. They treat death like it's nothing. "You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup...Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend." - Bruce Lee

Classless music industry to carry on with the party.
Clive Davis was not in attendance though.
Hmm CNN said that he was there.
Why would the music industry not come together to talk about Whitney and raise a glass? Makes no sense to cancel a party that they've been planning for months because somebody died. People die every day - the world keeps turnin'. You can bet her music is being played and her name is on the lips of nearly everyone in attendancce (at all the parties going on in town, of which there are many).
It would not be unusual for the body to still be there, even for many hours to come. |

Just found out and it's sooo SAD! I wouldn't say I was a huge fan, but those songs are part of the national consciousness, everyone knows them, and her voice set the standard for a generation & beyond. It's always tragic to lose a great talent, but this hits me harder than someone like Winehouse because I feel like part of my childhood is gone. You take for granted that these icons from childhood will always be with us - like our parents - and that's why it's devastating when they're gone. Puts things into perspective -- instead of being snarky about, did they sing live or mime? did they play their same old hit medley again? did I get my $77 worth? Let's just be grateful we still have who we have...

Wait really??? I highly doubt that.
The coroners vehicle is there, that is what they reported. Even if the body has been moved, she died a few hours ago, and the party is at the same hotel. Eerie, and strange to say the least. Another party would not be missed.
MSNBC reported that the body was still there as of a couple of hours ago. I imagine the place is packed because of the event and even moreso because of onlookers....groups of fans are even down there singing.
They could be having a helluva time getting the body out inconspicuously...celebs are just as nosy as anybody else.
I would feel weird being at a party under those circumstances. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise. |

I was at a lounge tonight for a b-day party when they announced that Whitney Houston had died from committing suicide. This puzzled me because besides the fact that they were saying she was dead, I was more concerned with how in the hell did the DJ know that she committed suicide....IF that was even the case? Now reading some stories about a bathtub and I'm I'm hoping this isn't true at all and that she passed from natural causes (possibly a heart issue) or because her poor body just couldn't take anymore. But we won't know until they do the autopsy. [Edited 2/11/12 22:01pm] I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince. |

She won six Grammys - I'm sure they'll do the best they can with the little time they have to plan and rehearse. Me, I want the Foo Fighters to jam on some Whitney chords. |

Before even getting to those thoughts, why in the hell were they announcing that she committed suicide period? This was around 8:15pm ET...around the exact same time the news was breaking. I'm pretty sure if it was a case of suicide, it would had been announced by now...so I doubt that was the cause of it. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince. |

I agree. Plus her family said that they didn't think nothing was wrong. She had called her mother and cousin about attending the Grammy party Saturday morning before she was reported dead in the afternoon. I don't know why people would jump into conclusion. |

The fact that they are STILL partying in the SAME hotel that she passed way (which is still as we speak under investigation and her body is possibly still there) at a location where she passed less than 8 hours ago is a bit MORE extreme than the comments in this thread
Its disrespectful... |

And if they haven't searched the room yet than nobody knows anything, so any announcement are hysterical conjecture and pure gossip.
However, I believe somebody has to deny entrance in order for them to be required to get a search warrant. So, for whatever reason, they must feel they need to investigate further. It's likely they'll make a statement eventually explaining why. Long before the results of the eventual autopsy. It will be interesting to see if they end up questioning anybody. |

Yeah, I think I'd be sending my regrets were I on the guest list.
I'm sure the mood at the "party" is quite solemn in Whitney's respect, but the logistics of the scene are just too bizarre for my tastes. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

No one ever said that it was sooo important. People have spoke on the disrespect in this thread also. N yes it does matter to many that her body is still at the hotel that they are partying at. Most people just cannot grasp the situation |
