Yep people really underestimate mike's vocals....mike was a tenor but eh could really hit insane notes so easily well above High C whereas most tenors actually struggle with High C....dirty diana has high C's constantly and a few High D's without breaking into falsetto...I don't think many singers can sing dirty diana in the same key without breaking into falsetto or....as yall said sound like barry "selfnutgrabber" gibb [Edited 12/30/11 3:03am] $$$ &

Can someone explain to me why several fans put the blame on John McClain when it comes to how "Michael" turned out, saying he ruined the songs AND This Is It?
I'm a bit confused because looking at the credits, McClain worked on 2 tracks on Michael and in my opinion, they were the best choices aside from Neff U doing 'Best Of Joy" and I don't think he ruined This Is It. All he did was add the Jackson brothers and added a string arrangement
What exactly did he ruin or do ya'll just think fans are just misguided and look for ways to blame somebody? "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Not sure about those fans but I can give you my reasons for Michael:
1.) Why not just release BTM untouched? And if you had to "update" it, you can't let us hear the original?
2.) Why could you not secure the Will.I.Am tracks?
3.) How do you allow the Cascio tracks.
I don't know much about McClain because the guy is never seen or heard from.

1. They had to give it an "up to date" sound. It's not always about us (true die hard MJ fans) when it comes to these records. I'm certain the original mix sounds similar, if not, the EXACT same as Greg Philliganes version.
2. Will.i.am didn't want to give up the records. Even though MJ had the vocals, Will.i.am kept the music and I'm guessing Sony didn't want to spend more money on another producer revamping the record.
3. I'm guessing Cascio's contacted Sony claiming to have some of the last records MJ "recorded" but that's just what I think.

McClain is well known name in the industry. He's known the Jacksons since they were kids, helped Janet get her first record deal (second if you count her unreleased recordings on Joe's label), co-founded Interscope records and helped Dr Dre and Suge Knight launch Death Row Records
1. It's something I was wondering too, but I expected it since that's what labels always do with unreleased songs by artists
2. Will.I.Am has those songs with a vice grip. He's the one who has ownership although the estate might to BUT since he was the producer, he has a say in releasing it. If he says no, they can't do anything
3. McClain didn't want the songs on the album, but other folks outvoted him. He was with Jackie and 3T and knew those songs weren't Michael. Teddy Riley flat out put him on blast when the whole Cascio thing happened, which was kinda bitchy of Teddy imo "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Classic backwards masking suggestions - if the words didn't appear on screen you wouldn't hear them, but since they do you read along with it and "hear" the words.
Dismissed. "I'm not human I'm a dove, I'm ur conscience. I am love"

A lot of fans are hating on McClain because they need someone to blame because the album didn't blow up to be the worldwide smash they think it should be.
I do know that McClain had a system in place to hand out the tracks that needed finishing to a few producers and see who came back with the best finished track. Teddy Riley publicly stated that McClain was pissed with him because songs he got to work on went head to head with tracks McClain (or a McClain sanctioned producer) also worked on, and Riley's tracks won.
That situation though doesn't add up to fans hating on McClain though - as it was the Riley tracks that made the cut on the album.
Personally I think, all things considered, the estate have done a decent to good job in running things - getting the business back on track and profitible, and resisting the temptation to flood the market with rereleases or cash grabbing schemes. I finally read half of the Frank Cascio book and it makes me love Michael even more, though I already did anyways. It really does give an insight into who he was, and MJ fans may not agree with me , but I don't feel the book was bad or that Frank 'stopped being his friend'. I think he's hurt and with his attachment to MJ and the bond, it's understandable why. I'm still dealing with it and dude doesn't even know me.

It's being discussed on KOP and MJJC.....People are skeptical about several things he's said in the book
not to mention we finally know who was one of Roger Friedman's sources "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Ok I just got to that part. He thought he was helping him and trying to take too many things onto his hands, as he was doing earlier anyways like when he invited Court and Derek to the ranch to resolve the lawsuit. But Vinny went to Roger more and Frank was upset about that. I really feel for MJ in all this.....but Frank is not the devil, just kind of naive at times.

or a distrustful leech like the rest of them...... he's taking the blame off of himself. He had no place going to Friedman or getting involved in Michael's business

Unfortunately that may not be the case. Jackie Jackson had said that both he and McClain had been trying very hard to get the Cascio tracks removed.

I haven't read the book yet. What did he tell Roger? "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

exactly. that's not being 'naive'. i remember when mj made a stink about something friedman was reporting and i believe sony eventually issued a statement disavowing it. if frank was around mj, he would have known how much this upset him, so how could he continue to slip gossip to friedman for years after that? he wasn't being naive, he was being a false friend. he's shady, and now that he's 'shot his wad' with this book, hopefully he'll fade away. the jacksons aren't going to allow him into their realm anymore, alpha is in the minority of mj fans who finds his book 'enlightening' which means no massive sales for him, so his and his family's connection to mj is over. good riddance.

I didn't know Michael was burned TWICE during the 1984 Pepsi commercial.
I was on the set of the Pepsi commercial for the night of the fire. That was quite horrifying. The previous night we were there too. I'm actually in one of the dressing rooms as the brothers walk down the hall. Michael also got burned the first night too. He was in the hallway between takes, and stood too close with his back to one of the hot lights. It melted the material into his back.
