I finally read half of the Frank Cascio book and it makes me love Michael even more, though I already did anyways. It really does give an insight into who he was, and MJ fans may not agree with me , but I don't feel the book was bad or that Frank 'stopped being his friend'. I have read the book and like you don't feel it's an overly sensationalised book. I'm sure many of the fans disputing things have their own bias against the Cascio's but really there is nothing in there that makes the book a must read - no outlandish claims to get huge publicity.

When taken for what it is, a memoir of a relationshiop it holds up. Like Jermaine's book, it might at times overstate his importance and influence (or maybe not) but you have to remember this is his story - so of course he is going to interperate things through his eyes and his own justifications.

What is sad is that at various points it appears MJ was on track, and had beaten any over reliance on pain medication, then either through work pressure (or pressure he put on himself) he retreated to them. It's a human weakness we all suffer from, we all escape to something or someone to make us feel better - nothing to be vilified just understood.

If you are looking for a good MJ book its worth a read, but I wouldn't necessarily put it ahead of something like Man In The Music as a must read.

I don't know specifically except that it had happened just before we made our way backstage to the set. I found out a little bit later. It wasn't treated as a big deal - just that the sequins had melted under the lights, and the burn was superficial. However, after the accident it quickly became an interesting thing that those who had been there talked about.

Man I can't even imagine how to feel if sequins from my jacket just melted and then whatever melted got into my back permanently. Michael truly had to endure a lot of pain. He bled for his art literally!

Maybe I am ignorant or foggy, but what else has Frank said to Roger besides showing him receipts? Before this or after this? What is he leaving out of the book? I'm thinking about it again and though a lot of it works in MJ's favour too, it does sometimes look like he's trying to hide something, like cover up his own actions that went wrong, but leaving out more of it, and coming off as someone protecting MJ and protecting himself. I cried towards the end a lot though when things were going bad for MJ and when he passed :*(

Yes - but he was up front and detailed about the Pepsi incident was all I was saying - so if there was an earlier incident he would have mentioned it.

It appears a few sequens on the outside of the jacket melted. There would be 3 layers between the sequins and MJ's bare skin - going from sequins / outer jacket material / inner jacket lining or material, and then whaterever t-shirt MJ was wearing beneath it.

I love how we assume he's always wearing a t-shirt under without thinking about it first, like it's second nature for him
