Will needs to cut it the fuck out!

Talking about he'll only release them if Mother asks him to. She's not about to beg him for 3 songs he did with MJ while Mother herself probably has WAY MORE than that sitting on shelves. The nerve of him...Again, didn't Will and MJ explain that Will does NOT have the vocals from the records (to prevent leaks)?

He's playing games because he knows what he has in his possession and the demand it creates. Will has contradicted himself numerous times. He said at one point the music could be on a BEP album. Just look up interviews on Youtube. The contradiction is there.

As for who has the vocals and music, who knows. That's another matter that has been contradicted. What I have gathered is that 3 songs are completed and almost a 4th.

So whether or not you are a fan of Will.I.Am's music, these need to be released. I believe these songs are the ones that would've been on a new studio album.

That really upsets me that he pretty much said "Only if Mother comes to ask" his ass is trying so hard to feel "needed" in the Estates planning.

Will.i.am just wants to feel like he belongs in the musical drama with Michael. If he doesn't want to release the music, then just say so. If that's the case, the Estate can EASILY have Mother call Will.i.am and get the tracks. He made it too easy...

I honestly am happy to hear that Will have decided to release the tracks (only if Katherine asks him to, but like you said, he made it too easy so it will likely to happen in the near future right?)

I get how Will is contradicting himself but I don't blame him too much shrug Yeah sure, when he criticized Akon for working on 'Michael' album, it made me really respect Will but at the same time I was disappointed at the fact that I won't be able to hear what MJ was working on when he was alive.

How is he supposed to turn Katherine down if she asks him to release those tracks? I don't know if the family thinks keeping MJ's legacy alive is as important as earning lots of money, but either way, it doesn't matter. Really, who's to say what's the right thing to do at this point?

I'm curious about the new sound, and I never consider any posthumous release as 100% Michael Jackson's work anyway, so there's no way the new CD can possibly tarnish his legacy, at least to me. BRING ON THE NEW TRACKS!!!!! boxed

Hey come on...I know so many fans were excited to hear MJ's collaboration with people like Barry Gibb, just because he's a legend icon brilliant musician an icon who's also a true legend lol

When MJ first worked with Teddy, I believe 23 year old Riley wasn't quite known as one of the greatest producers. I think most of the time, MJ has been able to get the best out of many mediocre artists/producers, that I don't think he always had to work with vintage "legends". Plus, I much prefer "Dangerous" album to his collaboration with Quincy such as "Bad", and 'Hold My Hand' to 'Whatever happens'...So I know the fresh sound can be good...or disappointing, who knows..but if MJ decided to experiment new sounds with whoever he thought was interesting at that point, I'm cool with that..

Though I do hope they also leak the original pure MJ demo as well, if exists..

Will shouldn't have even tried to criticize Akon for working on "Michael" because MJ himself approved of "Hold My Hand" and even said he wanted that to be the first single to be released from the album he was working on. MJ never said anything positive (that we've heard) about Will.i.am's records, which is why Will probably felt the need to lash out.

Just bring on the music

Upset French fans sue Michael Jackson doctor

RENNES - French fans of Michael Jackson are suing the late pop star's doctor for "emotional damage" they suffered over his death, their lawyer said Friday.

The case against Conrad Murray, who was jailed in November over the star's 2009 death, is due to be heard in the city of Orleans on April 11, lawyer Emmanuel Ludot said.

"It's similar to losing a childhood friend in a traffic accident. Because this death affects you, you have the possibility to file a suit and seek compensation," Ludot said.

The lawyer is acting for around 100 fans who are members of an association that calls itself the "Michael Jackson Community".

He said that while each fan could be awarded damages of up to 10,000 euros (S$16,556), they were seeking only a symbolic euro.

Jackson, aged 50 at the time of his death, had hired Murray at a salary of US$150,000 (S$194,000) a month to look after him as he rehearsed and embarked on a series of "This is It" planned comeback shows in London.

The star died on June 25, 2009 at his Los Angeles home of an overdose of anaesthetic propofol, taken to help him battle insomnia.

Murray was found guilty in November of involuntary manslaughter and sentenced to the maximum four years in prison.

Idk about this. I don't need money from this guy....money ain't gonna bring Michael back.

But emotional damage really gets you nothing. I've never seen anyone get awarded money for emotional damage. But hey, I understand where they're coming from...

they're not getting money, they want "symbolic"

The Billboard 200:

Adele's "21" album returned to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for a staggering 14th week , selling 144,000 (down 64%), bumping former champ Michael Buble and his "Christmas" set way down to No. 24 (21,000; down 96%). Meanwhile, every non-debuting album in the top 25 all declined in sales -- as expected following the busy Christmas shopping week. But, as always, there were interesting movers and shakers on the tally to note, so let's go:

-- Michael Jackson:
At No. 27, his "Number Ones" set zips up 156 slots on the chart -- the second-biggest leap on the tally (19,000; up 78%), marking the highest rank for the King of Pop's 2003 best-of set since the tally dated Jan. 24, 2004, when it was No. 24. However, it did spend six weeks at No. 1 on the now-defunct Comprehensive Albums chart in 2009, after his sudden death. Why didn't it chart on the Billboard 200 back then? As many chart-watchers know, the Billboard 200 barred catalog albums (older releases) from charting between 1991 through the end of 2009. Since the end of 2009 though, the chart now allows all albums -- regardless of their age -- to co-exist in chart harmony.

Michael Jackson's kids to impress his hand, footprints at Grauman's

Jackson-kids1

Michael Jackson never had the chance to have his hands and feet immortalized in the concrete in the forecourt of Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood (probably because he was never really a movie star), but that hasn't stopped the executors of his estate and the new owners of the Chinese from making the impossible a reality.

On Jan. 26, Jackson will have his hand and footprints marked in concrete to celebrate the debut of the Cirque du Soleil production "Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour." The producers have recruited the late singer's children -- 14-year-old Prince, 13-year-old Paris and 9-year-old "Blanket" -- to use his sequined glove and shoes to make the impressions.

The ceremony is the latest to be held by the Chinese's new owners, movie producer Donald Kushner and entrepreneur Elie Samaha, who have removed some deteriorating slabs and replaced them with the hand and footprints of such luminaries as Jennifer Aniston, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Kristen Stewart, Kobe Bryant and French DJ David Guetta. The Smurfs and the Chipmunks also got their paws and Smurf-hands set too, but those will not be displayed in the courtyard.

While fictional characters getting their prints set in concrete is nothing new (R2-D2 and C3PO did it years ago), it's the first time the guest of honor hasn't been alive for his or her own print ceremony.

The spate of new ceremonies has some in the film community harrumphing that the new inductees don't live up to the majesty and "for-the-ages"-ness of the Chinese's previous handprint honorees.

The new "Immortal" stage production combines Jackson's music with all kinds of Cirque du Soleil-style leaping and dancing. Or as the show's website describes it, the show "takes place in a fantastical realm where we discover Michael's inspirational Giving Tree -- the wellspring of his creativity. The secrets of Michael's inner world are unlocked -- his love of music and dance, fairy tale and magic, and the fragile beauty of nature."

Nothing celebrates the beauty of nature like a big slab of concrete.

http://www.rochester.edu/news/show.php?id=3979

Controversy and scandal marred Michael Jackson's reputation as the most influential entertainer of all time, however a new book about the King of Pop is designed to change that.

"I wanted to help shift the discussion back to what made him famous in the first place, which is his music," said Joseph Vogel, a doctoral candidate in the University of Rochester's English Department and author of Man in the Music: The Creative Life and Work of Michael Jackson (Sterling Press, 2011).

The book assesses Jackson's solo catalog from the 1979 album Off the Wall to the music he created before his death in 2009. In order to understand the creative process behind each song and how the albums were created, Vogel drew on hundreds of sources, including archives from Jackson's estate, Jackson's own words, and interviews with his collaborators— some of whom are speaking out about their experiences for the first time.

In addition to receiving positive reviews in the national media, the book caught the attention of film director Spike Lee, who wrote:

"Mr. Joe Vogel has brilliantly cracked the DNA, the code of the work, the artistry of Michael Joseph Jackson. I want to stress the word 'artistry' because people have forgotten or never understood that's what MJ is, that's what he worked at day and night. This is the book I have been long awaiting — a pointed, intelligent dissection of an epic body of work. Mr. Joe Vogel breaks it down album by album, song by song."

Lee reached out to Vogel after reading his book to offer his support and invite him to speak to students in his graduate film class at New York University. Vogel also has received positive feedback from scholars who plan to use the material in courses that look at popular culture, African American studies, and music.

"I've always been fascinated with Michael Jackson's music and given his cultural impact it is remarkable how little information about his body of work is available," said Vogel, who categorizes most current literature about Jackson as fan adulation or tabloid "tell-alls."

Vogel began writing the book during Jackson's 2005 trial on child molestation and other charges, when speculation about Jackson's guilt was used to ridicule everything from his appearance to his children. Jackson was later acquitted of all charges.

"The book started as a way for me to use my literary background to analyze his songs, but after his death especially it also became a way to document history by putting the music in context and learning about the creative process," said Vogel, who describes the book as a "hybrid between popular reading and scholarly research."

Vogel writes about music, popular culture, and politics for The Huffington Post and is the author of three books, including a memoir, Free Speech 101: The Utah Valley Uproar over Michael Moore (WindRiver Publishing, 2004) and The Obama Movement: Why Barack Obama Speaks to America's Youth (Silverton House, 2007). He is an instructor in the University's writing program and a fourth-year doctoral candidate studying 20th century American literature, popular music and culture, and romanticism.

If I'm not mistaken, in this show a bridge that lifted him up during 'Earth Song' malfunctioned and chrashed down pretty badly. Although he finished the show, I think he was very hurt and possibly injured. I think he talks about this in a video someone posted here recently.

Yeah, I remember that. I was going to post about it a while ago. Somebody [can't remember who] said they thought he was dead when he fell. But he just got right back up and kept performing. Never even stopped singing [or lip synching - whichever]. That's professional.
