Does anyone know why We've Had Enough wasn't included on INVINCIBLE?? that track is excellent, much better than the crappy songs after Butterflies...
and btw, I've been listening HIStory a lot lately and I don't get why the reviews were so hostile...the only stinkers are Tabloid Junkie and Smile (and Childhood, which is not a bad song but too personal/painful so I always skip it) ??

I love We've Had Enough and felt the same when I heard, same with Fall Again, which was not completed due to time conflicts. I havea feeling he wrote it in response to the 9-11 attacks though at some point after the album was completed though I don't know when. I feel it's one of his best if not the best of the 00's.

Deluxe Box Set. Give us everything in the vaults from that era. Also include the BAD Tour on dvd or blu-ray. Any studio footage and making of videos? I'll take that as well. Now would be the time to give us everything the Estate can with BAD.

HELL YEAH! Bad is the best!
http://www.legendarymichaeljackson.nl/?p=6681
Before and after 2009 we already proved the world that Michael Jackson fans are a very special bread. No artist in the world is backed up and supported by such a huge and loving army as Michael is. After Michael’s death fans have set different targets and most of them are succesful. For example; ‘uncovering Michael’s name on the Michael Jackson Auditorium’, ‘the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award’ was reinstated by MTV’, ‘the Discovery special with a reconstruction of Michael’s autopsy was cancelled’, ‘several mainstream media agreed not to use the term Michael and/or Jackson anymore’, etc.

bboy87 said: With the estate confirming that a 25th anniversary edition of Bad is on the way, how would you guys like to see it released? In a deluxe boxset (more expensive) or would you like to see them do a simple re-release with a few outtakes similar to the 2001 special edition (cheaper)
I only care for tour dvds , if sony doenst release that , i will not buy anything with michaels name tagged on it

Something packaged like Thriller 25. I want the extra tracks to be ones that were never released before (no streetwalker, cheater or fly away), and the Wembley or Kansas City Bad tour on DVD

I'd rather buy a boxed set for Bad because I'd rather have something like that instead of a CD. I bought the Visionary boxed set a few years ago. It was on 150, and I didn't mind cause it was MJ. LOL.
My boyfriend couldn't whine cause he has a replica of the purple symbol guitar. LOL. I love a Man who:
Wears More Make Up Than Me. Wears Four Inch Stilleto Boots. Changes His Name To An Unpronouncable Symbol. Who Changes His Name Back From An Unpronouncable Symbol. Oh And Most Importantly, Who Is Sexy Little Drop Of Butterscotch

That guitar sounds sexy
I bought visionary singles if it had tracks I didn't already own, or if I had them on vinyl and wanted them on CD format too, such as the Dirty Diana one. I didn't bother buying the ones that had nothing other than album tracks.

All I know is Michael was inspired by Charlie Chaplin as an artist and as an entertainer. Michael said he admires Charlie Chaplin because he can make people cry and laugh at the same time. And then went on to call him "King of Pathos". He also mentioned how he feels like sometimes, he is Charlie Chaplin himself. I think Michael really admired Chaplin's ability to entertain people and touch people's heart. I've also heard Chaplin had rough childhood as well...I'd love to know more about Chaplin as well...I should umm look it up...

They can do so many great things with the 25th anniversary of BAD. for starers a Box Set. A Big Beautiful box set!!! with this i think they should release the 3 disc bad album set (which it was originally supposed to be a 3 disc set) DVDS: Bad Tour Tokyo 1987 (not yokohoma, and there where 2 shows, one michael wore red,one michael wore black.)
Bad Tour Wembley
Bad Tour Rehearsals ( michael taped his rehersals for his personal archives)
Extras: A Remake Bad Tour Program
and then add something kind of like the visionary, only the singles from bad of coarse, and have the video and 'making ofs' of those videos [Edited 11/1/11 16:07pm]

I think because History came out after the accusations of 1993 and because in it Mike deals with more difficult and dark themes that critics didn't know how to interpret or they didn't want to look at them at all. But we have to remember that Mike wasn't critics favourte boy and that started to became more obvious during and after Thriller. If i had to pick a seriously underrated work of MJ's, that would definitelly be HIStory. That album contains some killer songs in it and some of the most amazing lyrics ever written in the history of music.
I don't agree with you on Tabloid Junkie being bad, althought i can understand why you don't like it.People have different tastes. Anyway, yes the music isn't exactly a killer but the lyrics of that song are mind blowing and kinda like Mike knew what would happen if he died and how the media that at that would react.
And he was right. Eerie Lyrics. And if i'm not mistaken Tabloid Junkie is one of the firt songs that so openly and accurately criticise the media system and the tabloid charateristic of it. Brilliant song and so much underrated. Well actually the whole album is. [Edited 11/1/11 18:04pm]

I already sent my ideas to the estate the other day "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Here's to hoping that they listen. *fingers crossed* Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. ~Berthold Auerbach

the idea i sent them came in 2 formats
standard 2 disc set
and then a deluxe 6 disc set (4 CDs+2 DVDs)
and came with a art/photobook, replicas of the "World of Michael Jackson" newsletters, Bad Tourbook and a replica of a bad tour ticket
now that I think about, i should've included vinyl as the third format "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Tabloid Junkie is one of the best songs on HIStory. The "just because you read it in a magazine" hook is killer.
MJ's cuts with Jam & Lewis were all magic.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Tabloid Junkie is very underrated. I forgot how good the lyrics were though I've always loved them, and how true they ring now. I had actually put this on a few weeks ago after so long and was getting chills.
I also noticed the other day that my favourite remixes off BOTDF are the Jimmy & Terry tracks, and I'm a big fan of Janet's remixes, so I think the songs they produce have to do with remixes turning out great. But yeah, they work amazing with MJ.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
i really hope they listen.. ill be devistated if they dont do something BIG with this release. how do you send your ideas to the estate?
| |
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Yeah, do you have their email or something? Is there a site brought to their attention where we can write ideas?
But I'm also thinking, they believe Thriller was a bigger era, and that anniversary set was a small and simple one, so maybe we are expecting too much for Bad? I really think that tour deserves to be released though. I know MTV aired Kansas city clips of some of the tour songs, but are all clips available out there? And is that the best quality or would you say Wembley is better?

As with many of the songs on HIStory, Tabloid Junkie is MJ at his most honest and personal and is a song that I love. Musically it draws you in and the rapid fire verses set up the accusations while the irresistible hooks of the chorus lay out the facts.
MJ covers a whole range of reported stories from the JFK assasination, to Marilyn Monroe, to comments about himself, and allusions to Madonna. It's a song that wraps up gossip and tidbits in a way that has you looking deeper into the truth of the situation.
For me it is one of the better songs on the HIStory. "I'm not human I'm a dove, I'm ur conscience. I am love"

Look at his vitiligo on his hand at 1:24. The video made me cry. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

I sent them through the MJ Online Team, who are the MJ Estate's online representatives. One member joined KOP to be an informer of new releases and feedback, and she ended up getting attacked by various ppl so she made 2 posts and never came back BUT I emailed her privately and asked her about submitting ideas to the estate. She gave me an email address, and it was forwarded to another rep. This was earlier this year
I wanted to do it directly to the estate or sony because I remember how my last plan went down in flames "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

The reviews seem to be meh to it's ok.
From tumblr:
Just watched the David Gest MJ documentary. Nothing new. Some parts were SUPER tacky like using the 911 call at the beginning and claiming Michael was “asexual” as usual.
Fan review:

As a big fan of music/film docs in general, this was average to bad and I agree on all the points in the 2nd fan review. He got good interview guests though.
I noticed that Sony blocked him from using any music which I guess is why it skims over the most important stuff LOL. Bloody Sony. Also, complete lack of clips which is essential in any documentary.
