It's sad news, and it ALWAYS sucks when someone dies so young (what is it with musicians that die at 27,) but can you really say this is surprising? I mean, in all honesty, folks--Rehab was a true song. So, while it's tragic, can you honestly say you didn't see it coming?

I didnt jump on her bandwagon like everyone else. Lets see if her only two releases rechart and if umg repackage them with deluxe editions

I didn't listen to her when Rehab first came out, but then decided I had to see what all the fuss was about. Her first album is fantastic & the video of her story shows what true, raw talent she has.

Her first live demo to the record execs was an amazing thing to watch.

There aren't too many people anymore who can sit down in a radio studio and sing live acapella and bring it home like she did.

Awful news sad

Remember her at that final aftershow at the O2 in 2007, that audio clip is on youtube, brought back memories and tears...RIP

If it were not for insanity, I would be sane.

I got the news about it THERE^ just moments ago. This is tragic, without question.

But lets us be real for a moment. I'm not surprise about Amy's death TBDH (no pun intended). This is the same woman that once dare sang a song that mocked the idea of going to Rehab, despite that it was her on-agan, off-again drug problem that marked the beginning of her end.

Yeah! Prince warned her about her live style 4 years ago... some people just don't listen.

He sure did. nod

She had such a deep soulful voice beyond her years. I thought not long ago if this women don't get herself together she may not make it, when she was stoned out of her mind perfoming not long ago. Was hoping she would beat this like Whitney..So sad so young with so much talent..... sad R.I.P. Amy

eye will ALWAYS think of prince like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. eye mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that prince wasn't of this earth, eye would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. prince

I am suprised by this. Only because I have become so used to "Functioning" drug addicts who are singers. But I am more mad than anything. Such a waste of talent.

Well, I was shocked when I saw the news. She had been looking so much healthier and you could see she wasn't on crack (or at least not as badly as before), but was still drinking to excess. I was so looking forward to some new music from her, but the drugs had certainly taken their toll. sad

yes, everyone saw it coming just like Kurt Cobain, but it is still shocking because at 27 it happens suddenly despite the behavioral warning signs.

Until it happens there is hope that this person will get it together. And there was hope with Amy, but in an instant it's over, and that is shocking as well as sad.

It is not the same as someone who is 90 years old dying (which is equally sad, but more inevitible)

Even though it is not a surprise considering her lifestyle, death should always incite feelings of sadness or shock...especially when her life was taken at such a young age....she will be missed rose

Exactly. And addiction isn't funny, or a reason to take a death any less seriously. For those of us with addicts among our family and friends, it makes Amy's death all the more serious. I'm not a huge fan of hers, but I, too, had hoped she would be able to beat her addictions. I hope she finally has a chance to find some peace now.

At that time it was because of alcohol, she didn't get into crack until that asshole of a husband got her hooked.

Man, some of you people have no heart or soul and it's sad. I hope you don't have any friends or family who have problems with depression and addiction, because you obviously have no compassion.

Commenting here on this board really has no great purpose other than to let

fellow boarders know that I am sorry she died and that she has gained peace;

I guess we can all share in this remorse.

But as soon as I felt remorse, I realized that I was only personally pained

for her because she is a celebrity; don't forget the people who died in Norway

and the famine in Somalia. They weren't celebrities but everywhere, isn't

human life sacred?

So True. clapping
