What gets me about this song is that all she did was put vocals over Pon de Floor by Major Lazer (Diplo and Switch). The original was one of THE hottest dancfloor jams in 2009 and the video was amazing. You guys should go look it up, it slays this shit.

Diplo and Switch are great producers. They've been around for a while. I was hoping that them pairing with Beyonce would lead to something orginal. This is basically a mixtape song.

Yes, and she doesn't have to dress like Hilary Clinton to be classy. In that song photo for instance, she could have worn that yellow dress without the sides cut away and looked sexy AND classy. Alicia Keys for the most part, manages to do it. Others who come to mind are Paula Patton and Amel Larrieux. You can be feminine, beautiful and sexy without having your behind hanging out.

This song is a mess. No discernible melody, no real chorus, no real structure. Just... stuff. And the only good thing about it, the Major Lazer beat, is completely obscured by all the incomprehensible banter and odd effects.

Right.. Im just so tired of people trying to convince people that her image is classy when it is not. I wish she would just really evolve her whole image and what she does. Her package is just so boring and predictable.(ex. long blonde hair, high heels, makeup, sexy clothes). I just dont get the amazement value in anything she does.. its all the same. Just a total tina turner/donna summer swagger jacker but just really bad but the only difference is their image was so much more classier and manage to still have sex appeal.

I personally feel good music should not even be about that but when music started to be more about sexy and catchy thats when it all went down hill.

It'll help create hype and I'm sure she'll be everywhere promoting it as usual (first stop probably BET Awards) but I don't see this song being a hit. Maybe on Urban but that's it.

The second single will be a smash and the album will thus be saved.

She hasn't exactly been recording timeless classics up to this point. She's always gone for the easy hit and the easier audience. She really has to acknowledge that her catalog isn't going to be much of a legacy in the future. It's all about what's hot at the moment. Then it's easily disposed of and forgotten and replaced by the next single. It's a cycle which she's stuck in.

I think she's definitely recorded some absolute classics (Crazy In Love, Single Ladies, Listen, Say My Name for example) but all tempered with crap like this. Ever since Lady Gaga blew up, Beyonce's aimed at the more avant-garde. But this is diabolical. I saw her in concert a couple of years ago and she is truly talented. Incredible live vocals. Huge productions. Great showmanship. This song does nothing to illustrate any of that.

you must be crazy if you think these are classics... i remeber i was at a family reunion and at the hotel, there was a party going on in one of the venues and when they played crazy in love the whole floor cleared... it was funny... well this was when the song first came out.

no one even liked single ladies until the video, and if you have to see the video and hear the song a million times to like it, its not a classic... and Listen was boring as crap and just so much over singing... it was such a lame song...
