Michael Jackson 'chemically castrated' as child: doctor

MARSEILLE — Michael Jackson may have been more prince than king of pop, a French doctor says in a new book alleging his wide-ranging voice resulted from a childhood chemical castration to fight acne.

"When he died, I realised that he was an unusual phenomenon," Alain Branchereau, an opera buff and professor of vascular surgery at Timone University Hospital in France's Mediterranean port of Marseille, told AFP.

"I said, 'That's the voice of a castrato!'."

After discussing the voice with his colleagues, including endocrinologists, Branchereau ended up with the theory of chemical castration through the synthetic anti-male hormone drug Cyproterone.

"When he was 12, Michael Jackson had acne. We know this, he spoke about it himself as a tragedy. What I think could have happened is that his people suggested this miracle treatment," the doctor said.

Cyproterone "blocks puberty, the voice can't mature," he said, adding that he had read around 20 books on the subject, studied photographs and spoken to specialists in dermatology, voice physiology, plastic surgery, urology as well as to a former singer with the Petits Chanteurs de Sainte-Croix boys choir.

The drug stops bodily hair and the larynx from growing and affects the bones, leaving the body with a slight frame but a large chest.

Once the treatment is finished, the patient "keeps a child's larynx all his life in a man's body," said Branchereau.

The doctor also noted that a male voice breaks during adolescence, becoming difficult to control. "But Michael Jackson never stopped singing," he said.

"An important part of my theory is this voice's exceptional character, which covers three octaves. But I haven't found any grown men's voices that cover three octaves."

Branchereau admitted that he had not contacted Jackson's family or friends for his book, "Michael Jackson, the secret of a voice," due out on March 9.

"We will never have proof," the doctor said. "Unless his entourage says something."

WOOOOOOOOOOOW.... never mind the fact that we've been over this before, and it's already been established (by folks like seth riggs) that michael's voice was actually deep, and the high-pitched voice he did was an aspect of his public performative self. never mind that when he spoke sometimes in live performances, his voice was far from high. and i don't think three octaves in a man is that unusual. he was a tenor, generally. the man practised so much though. he was a notorious perfectionist.

and never mind the fact that the autopsy states the total opposite of what this report says. i'm not sure why people are still wanting to argue that michael was castrated. why y'all wanna go and castrate a black man like that, huh? HUH??!!

Oh yeah, those are very famous pop art pieces by Hajime Sorayama (I had to google the name, although I recognize those pictures from multiple sources - for example, the picture above was reproduced for many 8bit / 16bit computer "demos"). They've been around for decades. I'm pretty sure the inspiration for them was Metropolis and older science fiction and has nothing to do with Michael Jackson or the Jacksons.

yes, metropolis was the first thing i thought of when looking at this picture. michael's art was pretty influenced by that film as well.

the whole 'machine man' stupor v. the will of the people theme seemed to be pretty influential in a lot of his art, but to me, it took on a whole other level after the release of HIStory. it was like the 'machine' of government, etc. v. true justice. it's kind of like michael is 'freder', posing as the machine man to warn the people about what is going on.

or, like 'the day the earth stood still', where he is 'gort', visiting earth to warn the people. then when 'earth song' comes on, he is human/'klatuu', stepping in front of the military tank.

it's interesting that in invincible, he used 'the twilight zone' as a theme as well. he was more open about the concept of science fiction/fantasy as reflective of world events in his art, it seems.

While I do agree that no one really knows the dynamics of their relationship seeing how no one here grew up with them, but at the same time I find it a little ironic that people are willing to stick up for them as well not realizing that they are just as clueless as those in the 'anti-Jackson family' camp. We had another poster in here in one of these threads some time ago trying to defend Mrs. Jackson’s ‘honor’ or some shit like that, but he’s just as guilty as MOL and anyone else. It is true that no family is perfect, in the least, but at the same time, it’s no secret that the Jackson family has set themselves up for these types of criticisms. The parents have a history of exploiting their children and many casual fans or non-MJ fans see his family, today, as exploiting MJ’s death for their own benefit.

If the Jacksons would stop thinking about new ways to exploit MJ’s death for their own financial gain for one second, I can bet you a million dollars that they would not be subjected to as much criticism as they currently are. But you know what? We have a better chance of accomplishing world peace than that ever happening. Which is why some people will assume that, at the end of the day, they put the value of money over the well being on their own children, because actions speak louder than words ever will.

Then again, it was this kind of attitude that got the Jacksons and Michael to where they are so it’s a doubled edged sword.

TMZ broke the story ... Katherine Jackson is trying to evict Alejandra from the residence, but Alejandra won't leave.

In her legal papers objecting to the eviction, Alejandra claims the Executors of MJ's estate are trying "to advance ulterior and pompous interests, which are not consistent with the wishes and values of Michael Jackson."

Alejandra claims Katherine doesn't even want her evicted, but says she was "pressured by the Estate" to get her out.

Alejandra claims the Estate is trying to divide and separate the Jackson family.

Alejandra says the Executors threatened to fumigate the house on January 3, 2011 whether she and her kids were in the house or not.

Alejandra also alleges the Executors shut off the gas and began changing the locks while she and the kids were there. She says the Executors even had all the food in the house packed up.

Estate lawyer Howard Weitzman tells TMZ, Alejandra's allegations are "preposterous."

Maybe this is her way of auditioning for that reality tv show she wants. She's showing she's capable of brining the drama and the preposterous.
