you're contradicting yourself; if you believe his will put his children in his mom's hands, how can you turn around and argue that he didn't have a 'proper will'? in fact, the will and trust definitely states who gets what and under what circumstances.

Actually, my post was directed at those who were claiming that that there was some dirty underhanded shit going on & him making some terrible decisions. Obviously if he wasn't happy with the will he would have changed it much sooner. Michael Jackson may be a lot of things to a lot of people, but one thing is constant, he was a shrewd businesman. I don't think he would be so stupid as to not revise a will that could possibly put his children's lives and that ATV catalog at stake.

as i also stated before, i happen to think michael made some terrible deals (the one with sony being one of them). also, the l.a. gear one, the kingdom one, the situation with schaffel, etc. etc. so in a funny way (if not literally), he actually DID piss away his money, by playing checkers instead of playing chess. he backed himself into a corner and could not get out.

Well...in order to make money you must spend it. You can't expect everything to work out. Maybe he had good intentions and maybe the deals did sound lucrative, but things may not have always worked out. Things like happen when you are an investor. It's easier to realize these things in hindsight.

i responded to the main thing... i think the estate would have done much better if they capitalized off of michael's 'free agent' status. they could have learned from prince, david bowie, etc. but they just enslaved michael again to a gangster organization. how exactly is this beneficial?

the music and videos are only a portion of the full picture. this is a man we are talking about, with feelings. he's not an automaton. and to me, this man has been disrespected by what the estate is advocating, in terms of what is being done with his legacy.

just because they are doing well does not mean they have any sort of positive moral standards. they are bleeding him dry. this is where i stand on the folks of sony, the estate, AEG, cirque du soleil, the video game organizations, mr. mann, as well as his blood relatives. there's not one person publicly representing his legacy in a way i feel is benefisial to this universe. and i do not count his kids here, as i feel they are being forced to be public about their father.

i know i stand alone on this (as i do with pretty much everything else on this thread). but you know, people keep telling me to stay on and share my views. so here they are.

When it comes to major labels, there's Sony or Universal. Warner is all but gone, same for EMI and I'm not sure about the status of BMG these days.

I wouldn't say "disrespected" by the estate, I would say they haven't seen the big picture and haven't capitalized on his full potential. There's a lot they could do they haven't done and honestly, haven't thought of. For example, it seems they didn't know how high in demand the Bad Tour was.

In my opinion, the Sony deal was a smart one. Sony had ownership until 2013 and they extended it to 2017, which will all revert back to the estate afterwards.

the video game was originally Michael's idea, the estate simply finalized the deal. I think this was a great idea because the game reaches the more people. Games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero introduced people to many performers. My only issue is the selection of songs on Nintendo DS lol

The Cirque Du Soleil deal i not really my cup of tea but I see the reason why they did it

Republishing Moonwalk was a wonderful idea too, as many of the books that were coming out were BS. If you go to a Barnes and Noble, you won't see those books now. You see Moonwalk, Bruce Swedien's book and probably Douglas Kirkland's book

The people who I feel are pissing on his legacy are the people surrounding the family. I really saw that when Oprah did that special a couple of weeks ago. You see all leeches and snakes that were around them

you make good points. i don't particularly agree with all of them, but you make good points nevertheless.

i still stand on the view that those running the estate should have signed with no one- and they should let the fans dictate what they wanna see, since they're the ones putting money essentially towards the legacy. that way they'd keep all the costs at the top then pay back what they owe. i don't think re-binding michael back to sony was smart. now he's a slave again until 2017. great.

i indeed know that the video game thing was michael's idea... i'm just of the view that no one should put anything out after that person is gone, if the work had not been developed in their physical presence. you are tampering with their vision. if you INSIST on putting stuff out, only put out the stuff that was 100% finished. if he did not sign off on it himself, in his own handwriting i don't think they should put it out. i'm just of the opinion that any other way is disrespecting his legacy.

the same thing goes for books. if you are writing a biography about him when he is not here, don't put it out. if it is a book on his life- but how THE AUTHOR relates to it, then i think that is okay; because the book is then not about him, it is about the author. if the author writes about michael and it is slanderous, michael can't defend himself and make the decision on whether or not it's slanderous. it's branca, weitzman or mc clain who has to do that. to me, it is not the same thing.

i'm not really into the moon walk book, so... it was ghostwritten (by shaye ayreheart- i'm sure i am spelling it wrong), and it wasn't a very good job at that. 'dancing the dream' served michael much better. unfortunately, it did terribly in its first round of being released, because it was supposed to accompany the tour, and did not. a lot of people have never heard of it.

i haven't been to a barnes and noble in a while; but the powell's bookstore here in portland has all those books. i have the first editions of all the books, so it's interesting to see the covers they put for the reissues. i don't really think there are good books on michael, but i like reading them anyway. they all say something different, and you can connect dots. i haven't read kirkland's book. what is that one about?

i really like swedien's book. that was the only book i purchased posthumously. well, no i take that back. i purchased boteach's book for really cheap. i'm actually glad i did because it helped me to study the teacher some more. the book reminds me a lot of the interviews he did with bashir, as bashir tried to psycoanalyse michael, and michael played the chess game really well, i thought. everyone hates those bashir interviews, but i thought they made michael look great. i'm not sure what people were expecting. the man is a journalist for a major company. it's not like he was working for community access. i had very little expectations, so i think michael was phenomenal, and came out the victor.

i didn't see the winfrey special (i think she is a devil and i refuse to give her attention in any way). again, i am not sure what people are expecting when they watch her show. she is of dark energy, and that is waht is going to appear on her program.

i only take one side on this issue. until i see proof where i can feel otherwise, this is where i stand. i don't believe that it's the family v. the estate v. sony v. AEG, as i feel they ALL contain darkness, and are causing a disservice to michael and his children.

peace...

and this is why i am not, and never want to be famous... it's a dark and heartless business, especially for someone as sensitive as he was. it doesn't seem like he could say no. i don't envy michael one bit.

Pretty much, we as fans form a small "family" or sorts, we adopt the kids, and we protect them and raise them ourselves. Apparently, Katherine can't do it...sad

It was a nice thought anyways...I love those kids and I'd raise them myself if I could.

This sort of thing makes MJ fans seem crazy, the sad thing is there are some fans who really feel this way, they would like to put michael's kids in a bubble jump on a unicorn and ride off to a castle over a rainbow . They feel entitled to michael and his personal life, they feel they can love his kids more than he grandmother. We are fans, outsiders looking in.

Well remember in Michael's will, he gave Diana Ross legal guardian custody in case Katherine passed away. So if Katherine dies, we know who will take care of them then. And Diana has already shown she could take care of five children since all five of them seem really well-adjusted, not to mention three of them graduating from college, four of them having successful careers in the entertainment business and one of them still attending college and another one that may be the next major star while growing up with a CHILDHOOD.

Heaven forbid kathering does die before they're of legal age i can bet they will remain with their family. I can't see a judge placing them with diana ross. I think they have already planned what would happen if katherine is unable to care for them. Most likely i think one of Katherine's children will move into the family home and continue raising them, the kids need s asense of consitane and noramcly, moving then about wouldn't help at all and plus they're old enough to voice who they'd rather live with.

hee hee... even though i think katherine is indeed exploiting those children, i agree with you on your main point.

this is why i always try to make it a point to say 'i think', or 'this is my view/opinion', because i did NOT know michael when he was physically here. a lot of folks make declarative statements like, 'he would like this', or 'i KNOW this is how he was', without knowing him. how we view michael is how we PERCEIVE him. we look at him how WE want to see him.

i mean, people think he was this guy who never looked at women, when he was always talking about "that is a good fish right there." the man was who he was, and we will never know even a QUARTER of who that was, if we never spent time with him. he presented himself how he wanted us to see him. and i don't blame him. he's stated in interviews that no one wanted to see the real him. is it because he thought people would hate the real him? who knows.

but yeah, your comment made me laugh.

very true... the man made sure his children will not starve. he also instilled positive values in them as well. he made sure they would not be selfish with their privilege. he seemed to raise the kids the opposite of what his blood relatives are doing. poor children. much positive energy to them.

Well for anyone who's interested, here is the full interview. It was only an 8 minute long interview. I have to say that I think this is the most blatent nose--thumbing to the estate that I've seen done by Katherine and Howard. The children are at the transition house helping out homeless families because of the Heal The World foundation neutral I think that lady in the video is actually Melissa Johnson herself? Idk but it looks like her. Howard Mann makes an appearance. Oh yeah, and Robin Roberts gives a plug to Katherine's book at the end of the interview. Wow. Just. Wow. disbelief

I will admit, it was nice seeing the children helping out and hanging out with the other children at the transition house. Its great that they want to carry on Michael's humanitarianism. I just wish they were doing it with a legitimate charity or foundation, not one that's based in fraud. Those children probably dont know that this HTW foundation has nothing to do with their father. I think they're being lied to and led to believe that this current incarnation of the foundation is actually Michael's foundation that was started by him. Their hearts are definitely in the right place, but I cant say the same for the adults who are involved who seem to be led by greed and selfishness.

Amazon.com is also carrying the book. I dont have the book but you can read fans reviews of it here: http://www.amazon.com/Nev...ewpoints=1

Cant believe they charge $20 just for shipping! eek Not Amazon but that other place--Mann's website. $20 s&h whatta crock! Going by these reviews doesnt sound like the book is all that.

They seem to be very united, which is great. I hope it helps them to go through whatever is ahead of them.

BTW what was Prince saying about his favourite subject at schoo? Gym and... ?

As for the purpose of this interview, that's another story.

Katherine Jackson Pimps Out Michael Jackson’s Kids to Good Morning America

Michael Jackson must be rolling in his grave. This morning his mother, Katherine Jackson, pimped out his three kids–Prince, Paris, know and Blanket– on “Good Morning America.” The kids, and Katherine, appeared with Robin Roberts, who I hope did not she was being used to shill for Katherine Jackson’s “business partner,” Howard Mann, to sell the expensive book of photographs he’s been selling on his website.
The longish segment ended with a big plug for the book by Robin herself. Did money change hands for this interview? Katherine Jackson and Howard Mann do nothing for free, so perhaps the whole objective was to sell that book that no one wants.
The segment also promoted the idea that there is a new Heal the World Foundation. There is not. The foundation closed years before Michael died. Mann has been ordered by a federal court to stop using the name, the Jackson estate has made it clear that the foundation has nothing to do with Michael Jackson.
Nevertheless, in this interview the children were used to advance the idea. Roberts noted, hilariously, that Prince Jackson, age 14, “is on the board of Heal the World.” What does he want to do? “Help animals who can’t speak for themselves.” (What about those that can?) One day, those poor kids will realize how they were used for this scheme. Where is Margaret Lodise, the court appointed lawyer for these children? How did they allow this to happen.

The thing is: there is NO charity involved. The Heal the W.F. is fake and its only purpose is to make money for Mann, Melissa and Katherine Jackson. They pass the image that it is a charity but it is a fraud as the estate and even courtrooms have proven. The point is to led people to believe it is geniune, donate money to it and then the sharks fill their pockets.

The interview is also a part of the contract KJ has with Mann. According to it, MJ3 will have to work for Mann for the rest of their lives so Katherine and the porn producer can make money. The best part: the kids won't make a dime.

The estate is suing Mann and the HTWF and, yet, Katherine is using the kids to promote it. Basically, she is putting the kids against Michael's estate while profiting off of them shamelessly and selling them to a porn producer. Now we know why Michael wanted NOTHING to do with them and adopted other families. Criminal people.

What I dont understand is why Katherine is involved with this guy. Does she not know anything about this character or the HTW foundation? How has she not been told about these things? Hasnt MJ's estate lawyers discussed Mann with her? Havent they tried to explain to her to help her to understand what they're doing, why they're doing it and why this Mann guy is wrong for what he's doing? If they havent, then what about anyone else from the Jackson family. Have any of them explained to her that Mann is up to no good? I dont see how Katherine could have NOT been told about Mann, the HTW foundation and other isses, but she either doesnt know, or she's been told but is choosing to turn a blind eye and deaf ear to things. :dunno: Any thoughts?

Michael Jackson Blamed for Botching Lawsuit

Katherine Jackson's business partner wants the MJ Estate off his back in a legal war over MJmerchandise ... claiming Michael himself picked the same fight when he was alive ... until he realized he couldn't win.

0225_mj_howard_Getty_TMZ_EX

Long story short -- the Estate wants Howard Mann to stop using MJ's name and image to hock various websites, books, and other products. Problem is, according to Mann, this is the exact same lawsuit that Michael pursued back in 2004 ... only to "abandon" the legal fight in 2006.

Mann claims ... because Michael bailed on the case, and a judgment was issued against the singer, he lost the legal right to stop Mann's company from using his image to sell merchandise.

Mann claims the the Estate shouldn't get a second bite of the apple ... by being allowed to sue for the same claims in 2011.

Now, the case is in the hands of a federal judge -- who will decide to either green light the case ... or shut it down.

I watched the interview again, and now I'm beginning to think that this really was all about getting publicity for this foundation. The kids were at the transition house, wearing the HTW T-shirts and giving a check on behalf of the foundation--while the cameras were rolling. Coincidence? I think this whole thing was set up by Howard Mann and the main purpose was to get PR for the foundation so that people will donate to it. Oh yeah and to plug Kat's book. I really hope whatever money that gets donated to this foundation actually goes to help people and not Mann's bank account. sigh

Cant believe they charge $20 just for shipping! eek Not Amazon but that other place--Mann's website. $20 s&h whatta crock! Going by these reviews doesnt sound like the book is all that.

And see this is what bothers me--that this foundation is nothing but a front to make money for Mann, Melissa and Katherine. The whole purpose of today's interview was to publicize this fraudulent foundation in order to get donations for it. And they used the innocent kids as pawns. pissed

Thanks for the info MOL. I just dont understand Katherine's reasoning for wanting to be involved in these shady activities. Maybe she doesnt know the whole deal--but then again how can she not have been told by someone about what and WHO she's involved with?

WOW! as everyone here already know, i am in no way a fan of the folks running the estate; HOWEVER, i must side with them on the issue of the 'heal the world' stuff.

i had a thought last night, wondering if they were gonna pull a cease and desist on the interview or whatever, due to the kids wearing the shirts. this was a response they gave apparently:

"..."The current Heal the World Foundation has no relation to Michael Jackson's charity that touched so many lives before becoming inactive several years before Michael's death...The Estate does not believe Michael's children should be used to exploit a foundation that a federal judge found was not associated with Michael Jackson."
...
Katherine Jackson is dealing with a copyright infringement lawsuit filed by her son's estate against her business partner, Howard Mann. Mann runs a Web site that features Michael Jackson's music, video and a book that Katherine wrote about her late son's life.

Mann and the charity Heal the World are both in litigation with the estate. The estate has obtained a court order prohibiting the foundation from using Michael Jackson's name, but Katherine and other family members still support it."

==========================

so yeeah, i actually concur with the estate on this. wow. i never thought i would say that. but there's some points where you just have to stand for something, even if it's with people you don't like.

i didn't see the interview, and i refuse to. i have not seen ANY interviews regarding the children. i can't fill my head with the dark energy surrounding them.

my heart truly goes out to them. especially when you KNOW they know they are being pimped. is there a law around them speaking out as minors? on what grounds can they object?

This is the same woman who alongside her husband told one of their daughters that Jack Gordon was a nice man that will look after her career not checking the man's history. The same woman who convinced Michael to do the Victory tour because Katherine was the only member of his family Michael put 100% trust in, the same woman who tried (but failed) to get Michael on that thing with the Moonies. The same woman who refused to divorce her abusive, philandering husband because of what it might do to the careers of her children (hell Joseph told Michael not to tell Katherine what he was doing behind her back but she found out eventually and still stayed with him despite two divorce proceedings).

Yup.

A perfect JW.

a few years after MJ fucked that shit off, i'm fucking amazed Prince got roped in but each to their own eh?

That was a little uncalled for not all JW’s think like Katherine thinks that’s just stupidity on her part not her religion but that’s another discussion in another thread.

There was a time when I was up The Jackson’s butt crack as far as knowing everything they doing on a daily basis. I’m happy I left that and moved on lol I have no problem blasting can you feel it and ignoring their Drama at this point. I think everything said in this thread has been said too many times to count and it's not changing anything. Michael left his children with his family and just have to deal with it , I know people are concern but it's nothing you can do . Their drama causes headaches and i'm tired of taking meds to get rid of them lol
