Gaga/Madonna Torch: Gaga carries everyone's torches, which wouldn't be a problem, except she clearly jacked 'em from various back yard BBQ's, including this one!

Whats the point though, i mean the shelf life for a pop song is about what 2 months at best, its disposable pop here and gone, let it come out do its thing and then move on, Its like Carlin said when he did the "Did Jesus bring the Pork Chops" book cover and put himself in place of Jesus at the LAst supper, and walmart and others banned the book he said "thanks the more you say something is bad the more people will want it, thanks for the free promotion"

But isn't Lady Gaga suppose to be the Madonna of her generation? I mean, Madonna's career has lasted 3 decades. And Gaga was suppose to carry the torch, right?

the thing is that the generations cant be compared, music really doesnt matter like that anymore. Madonna could do a "Like A prayer" or "Like A Virgin" and that shit was an event and scandalous, but it was never HYPED at you in advance, it came out and what it was it was, it built from there. NOW your team builds all this nonsense, labels and artists employ hack bloggers and 9 year olds to do THAT work for them, its all a new game. Prince's Darling NIKKI caused a stir after the movie and the album were out for awhile, today u would be reading blogs about it as he was doing it in the studio!

Well its the "thing" to focus on right now, in a few days when the Rihanna S&M Video debuts and people see her in a video with a whip with reporters tied to chairs and her sitting on them etc....that will be the thing to jump on, personally to me, all this stuff that happens now is because of what was born years ago, HOWEVER to me, if you use sex, drama, and things like that in the media to gain attention DONT CRY when u get used by that same media, thats all im saying, to me i have no problem with Rihanna sexing it up because from day one i knew what she was, a sex object, plain and simple. So i was just like, well come on already turn it up

Videos to jack off to. lol

I mean isnt that her purpose in these times, she is supposed to be what madonna was to teens back then now Rihanna is doing that stuff for this generation. So it is what it is, musically you cant really compare what is done now to what was done then when ALL you had to focus on was the music, now its all image, pr people, what the fans want, polls, etc...

Are you saying that Madonna was all about the music and the image was secondary? If so I gotta call BS on you. Madonna was arguably one of the first stars that was popular for her videos as much as, maybe more than, her music. Image was extremely important to Madonna's success.

No its not BS, now your image is more at play, honestly its more important now than ever. People dont buy an artist because they dont like their outfits. The BS is that we think the "image" thing began now, when it was everyone in the video age that made it what it was, Prince, madonna, michael and Janet all were in this together. BUT there was less concern on your image, i mean madonna always gets the whole image thing thrown at her when Michael Jackson was doing it just as much, and so was Prince and So was George Michael, i mean George was the first to walk away from it actually. But with all that im sorry, but the music was your selling point first and foremost.

Also the thing is now that we know every move an artist makes, we know that at 4pm yesterday Rihanna walked out of a studio with a guy, or at 10am Kim Kardashian got her car washed, you cant tell me that whole thing was going on for MJ and Madonna and Prince and that was their selling points, media, becuase it just didnt exist like now, now we know every little detail of a person in the media.

You nailed it LD. Mentioned Ana Voog earlier, she was produced by Revolution-ites Bobby Z and Matt Fink, who- besides Moir- also produced Lolly Pop. Voog's Facebooks:

If anyone wants to talks about Gaga and "world's first!" anythings, they should pay more attention to what P and P-associated artists have been putting out over the years.

The problem with Gaga is that she portrays herself as an 'outsider or the marginalize people's savior.'

Bitch, it's too contrived and manipulative and too easy to understand that it is merely a tool designed to get money from your emo little monsters.

It doesn't feel genuine. confused

Also, for a song that is suppose about equality, what's with the stereotypes even derogatory words?

Why are you trippin so hard on that stuff on a Prince website? Prince and Lady Gaga have a lot of career and artistic parallels. How is this "backlash" any different than the "backlash" from ATWIAD? In fact, I bet it's LESS controversial because people are STILL gonna buy the records.

Are they bad? No. Not really. Lots of people can listen to those records and get enjoyment out of them. So what is people's obsession with tearing this person down? She does the same savvy shit and marketing that Prince did and she still writes her own songs (that is painfully obvious from those retarded lyrics). And there has been like 1-2 statements from "people from NYU" when she went there. Not much. Bout the same if not less than Prince. Yet people still eat up his stupid mystique up one side and down the other. They're no different. She has meat dresses, he has assless pants. She has the blood red queen outfit, he has the onesie from Gangster Glam.

The girl has been out not even 3 years and ya'll stay on her dick calling for her to be this, that, or the other. How about you just let the career unfold before you're at every damn frame, calculating her risk. razz

Lady Gaga New Song ‘Born This Way’ Criticized by Latinos for Having Racist Lyrics

Pop icon Lady Gaga can’t seem to catch a break with her recently released song “Born This Way”. First she was accused of sounding too much like Christina Aguilera’s in “Beautiful” and then of borrowing the idea and lyrics from Carl Bean’s “Born this Way” and now some Arizona Latino groups are chiming in with their opinion.

Organizations like Chicanos Unidos Arizona and MEChA do not like Lady Gaga’s use of the words ‘Chola’ and ‘Orient’ in her lyrics, viewing both as being racist and derogatory.

The word chola according to the critics refers to Latina girls in gangs, Latinas from the barrio who have a certain look about them and conjure very negative stereotypes. Lady Gaga use of this term in the song is sure to promote already negative Hispanic stereotypes, according to these organizations.

The song is set to release on February 13 and be performed at the Grammys, which may bring out more protests. Lady Gaga has not responded to the Latino organizations and their racist-lyrics criticism, however she did post on her Twitter about the song “It has been in my heart for over a year. I’m so excited to share it .” So changes to lyrics are unlikely. source

Good for them.... Chola/Cholo does refer to Latina/Latino gang members (respectively) and/or urban hood type hispanic youth. There was a song out a few years back that was popular here in Cali, even though it received some criticism, called "Lean Like a Cholo" with a sister song "Lean Like a Chola" that had references to everything from being locked up to baby daddies to not being able to dance. The term Orient and Oriental is outdated...didn't think anybody said that anymore. Eh....she's a troll.
