This is why I hardly get into "singles" anyway, well what they call "singles" either. I'm not a radio zombie, never really have been.

But you see there is the huge thing. Everyone should ask themselves why Flo-rida can sell a zillion downloads and break records and yet the album collects dust in stores? Now the argument is always people dont want to "invest" money in the full thing, OK so rewind back to...say....WHAM, brand new group for the most part, puts out "wake me up" boom number one hit, and then a number one album and more hits and steady album sales to go with it. SO where are the people that argue any say there is just as much talent today as then.

I think the industry itself doesn't even realize how great it used to be. They're struggling at straws to figure out why it's losing money and making dumb decisions in the process. That's why many legendary acts are going independent.

Why Not? Mariah carey scored a hit with " We Belong Together" after 3 or 2 flops in row, If mariah did it, then Janet can do it, she needs a great record.

Exactly! Ur always just one hit away from a comeback. Trust me Janet will have another radio hit. She has made the right decision to make a few movies then concentrate on a hit driven album. It is too soon for her now to make another album. Plus it'll look like she trying to use MJ's death as a comeback.

She has something MJ never really had a successful acting career with 3 number 1 movies in a roll. Do more movies Janet.

I agree janet should do more movies too cause album after album is just not sitting well with the public. I know janet carried poetic justice, but eddie murphy and tyler perry carried the last two though I know people went for janet too, especially me

This would be a good idea. The American music scene is so dead right now.Sometimes,it's a good idea for an artist to listen to new sounds and beats being made elsewhere.

Artist of her calibar should be doing this ANYWAY! I think when artist reach the stage that she has reached, they take it for granted that anything and much of everything, will be accepted or they try and top their best selling material, which gets in the way of them making good music,(this is exactly what happened to her brother, IMO). Janet should lock herself in a room, put on one of her old records, and then make a call to Terry and Jimmy. She needs to go back to that old formula.

What ever happened to BAG & Arnthor from her Damita Jo days? I loved their work on the album's intro and "SloLove". She's usually on the cutting edge of what's happening internationally. Although lately when asked what she's into she mentioned Drake and Gaga.

Of course it will have an effect on her music. Everything that she listens to, reads, even watches on TV, will have an effect on her music. Janet wants to stay current, the artist mentioned are current....unfortunately,IMO they make terrible music.

No. She's usually asked in her interviews which artists out now she enjoys and she answers - Lady Gaga and Drake.

Janet listens to Brazilian Jazz, Blues and wide variety of music. That's usually where her inspiration comes from. Also artists like Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder is a major influence on her music.

She talks about what inspires her at 1:12 and music that inspires her at 3:24
