FYI, people that are credited for songwriting is anyone that helps in the songwriting process. That includes lyricists and composers. Rarely will you find one person credited for songwriting on songs and albums. The same can be said for screenwriters. It's a collaborative work. That doesn't mean Janet's not a REAL songwriter. Why isn't it comparable?
How can u determine someone is a great sexophone player when there's 5 other sexophone players playing with him? U cant seperate who did what, so u cant say who is good or not good at what. I never said she had to write a whole album, did i? How about... 5 songs in her 20 yr + music career? U take my mohills and make them mountains. How about if she wrote 10 songs in her entire catalogie by herslf? Janet has released over 100 songs, and is only credited to writing ONE by herself. How can u look at all that music and determine SHE is a great sognwriter when other ppl (mainly Jam & Lewis) have their names littered all over everything?! | |

An instrumentalist plays an instrument. Songwriters consist of lyricists and composers! You can't compare them. Like someone else said Janet wrote many of her songs by herself (lyricists) but Jimmy & Terry are the composers. They also give her direction on how to sing her songs and such. Its really not that hard to comprehend. | |
