yeah, enuf with the lame defenses of oprah. didn't she issue a statement about the kennedy who just died? wasn't she was on vacation/hiatus then?

on edit: yes, she did. it's posted at her website. so if she had wanted to make a statement about mj's death, she could have. but it's business so she's going to ride the wave of 'mourning' and exploit mj for ratings. he gave her great ratings in '93, no reason to think he won't again.

i have often said i wouldn't be a good entertainer b/c you have to compromise yourself a lot. a few years back a poster on another board mentioned janet's willingness not only to go on oprah's show, but that major, major mj hater, rosie o'donnell's show and i was the only one who agreed with her questioning of janet's integrity on that. every other poster didn't have an issue with it - just business. i'm sure when their reality show gets ready to premiere, the jackson 4 will do oprah's show to promote it. neutral

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Janet appeared on the Rosie O'Donnell show in 2001,just before the release of her 'All For You' album. It wasn't until a few years later that Rosie called MJ a "pedeofile".She had seen him at a party and refused to speak to him. Before this, her feelings about MJ were unknown (I think).I doub that Janet would have appeared on her show if she had known about those vicious comments about her brother.

Who would want to appear on such crappy cheap TV shows like roise, the view, ellen, tyra ..etc, and yeah, Janet would never appear if she knew about those comments , she has always been supportive to MJ, I hate those silly TV shows.

Yeah those shows truly suck (except for 'Ellen') but if you're trying to promote a new album, movie or tour, those shows are a necessary evil, especially for someone like Janet, who needs to draw attention to her music.

I remember ater the Bashir documentary aired,Oprah spoke about it on her show. She had a message directed at Michael: "It's wrong to allow young boys to sleep in your bed with you,and I would say the exact same thing to my own brother if he were doing this".

hmmm In defense of Oprah, you have to understand that she herself was sexually abused at a young age,so I think she was really conflicted/confused about the MJ allegations and trial. As a popular talk show and icon who routinely does shows about sexual abuse, she couldn't be seen as "endorsing" MJ's behavior. It was a tough position for her to be in.

b/c i can't stand oprah and only saw snippets of the interview, i can't totally vouch for my memory, but i could have sworn mj stated in her interview that he often had slumber parties with the little cancer patients that came to the ranch. if that sort of thing was so wrong, why didn't she call him out then?

i don't think projecting her experiences with abuse onto mj is an excuse for her to bash him. she could have invited him onto the show and given him a forum to further explain, like geraldo did, especially since she had been to neverland and had to know it wasn't the house of horrors bashir and the prosecutors had made it out to be. she could have been a woman about it and told her feelings to mj's face.

but then again, i don't expect much from her.

nope.

from a 2005 cbs news link:

After the 1993 child molestation allegations, it became more than weird. To some, it was damning.

Rosie O'Donnell, a frequent Jackson critic, scoffed at the idea that Jackson could be innocent in a 1994 interview with The Los Angeles Times: “They say that about priests; they say that about people's fathers and their brothers and the elementary schoolteacher and the soccer coach. They say it about every man who is accused ... Wake up.”
http://www.cbsnews.com/st...age2.shtml

imdb lists janet as having appeared on her show in feb 98, mar 01, and feb 02. as you can see from the cbs link, rosie had been popping off about mj from at least '94. but you know...it's just business, right. confused and i believe the full story is that mj wanted to speak to rosie at liza and david's wedding in early 2002 and that's when she said she refused to speak with him because she didn't speak to pedophiles. is it possible that he wanted to ask her about her attitude towards him?

on edit: you can't make me believe that janet was unaware of rosie's attitude toward her brother. but for me it also raises a question for oprah and rosie - if you believe mj was such a predator, why have the predator's sibling on your show where you're laughing and joking and shit, unless you're going to confront them about why they're so supportive of said predator? see, again, i don't think i could be in the entertainment business in that phony capacity.

Depends on what she's covering for the show.

If she's praising him- then she's a backstabber.

If she's focusing on a tabloid-like show with sensationalism- then what else is new. Its probably for ratings.

She's an idiot.

She should not be calling someone names without knowing the full facts about the case, and like many, she just assumed and came to her own conclusion.

What a loser.

I'll never forget when MJ did that radio interview with Jesse Jackson and Oprah hadn't even HEARD it, yet completely passed judgement on him. The part where Michael said he was drawing strength and inspiration from people like Nelson Mandela, and then Oprah jumped up and said he was COMPARING himself to Mandela. Bitch hadn't even heard the interview and she was judging him like everyone else.

I remember her slagging off Janet about 2 weeks after her interview with her as well - this was back when her show was actually broadcast over here. She mistook Vanity 6's Nasty Girl for Janet's Nasty and again, passed judgement on the Jacksons being a bad influence on children.

Well rosie did say this after his death.
"So now the crowds gather
Endless tributes
The kind of love and adoration he seemed to crave
And he is not here to feel any of it

For the dreams he tried to live up to"

Oprah Heifery would loved it if someone compared her to mandela, believe me, she would love this so much, other people cannot be compared, she thinks that she is the all almighty.....Mj's relationship with Nelosn madela was always special, his reaction to his death is the prime example.
