Must have Albums of 2009? Any genre is fine.
I prefer Indie type of music personally (art rock), but have woefully lacking in R&B albums, so I would appreciate some of those suggestions. As far as R&B is concerned I like more of an old pre-80's sound...classic R&B sound. And absolutely, positively, nothing... I mean NOTHING that sounds like Creed.

So far it's the third best selling album of the year in Britain, it's really good. Check out the singles "The Fear", "Not Fair", and "22".

BITCH! lol anyway chances out it will be similar but she is working with the AMAZING Sia and Lady Tron so I think it will manage to sound quite original. 2012: The Queen Returns

I honestly took that thread to be albums folks "liked", and didn't want to weed through lots of lists. I wanted this to be absolutely essential tracks...which I assume, given the dire nature of this year, would be about 2 albums.

I personally think Christina is a phenomenal singer, but I haven't been terribly fond of her albums. Is the new really a 'must have' ?

Maxwell - 'Black Summer's Night' part 1 Prince - LotusFlow3r Can't wait to get: Whitney Christina A. LeToya + Erykah Badu sequel to New AmErykah (if that happens this year) Mariah (if the second single is better than that first one ) Seriously? I personally think Christina is a phenomenal singer, but I haven't been terribly fond of her albums. Is the new really a 'must have' ? I love her albums because her lyrics are good, her voice is amazing, and she always does something different. That's the one thing that Christina has done with every single album she's released. From her bubblegum pop debut, to 'Stripped', (which was hip-hop and rock oriented), to B2B (which had jazz and blues influence throughout), she's thrown something different on the table with each new release and I respect any artist who doesn't stick to the same formula album after album after album...boring. That's what I consider to be a talented artist when they step outside of their comfort zone and try different genres but that's just me. Everyone keeps pointing out that since Christina's upcoming album is going to be a 'Lady Gaga experience' (whatever the hell that means ) that makes it less than interesting for some reason. Seriously, Lady Gaga ain't really doing anything that hasn't already been done several times thoughout the years, so I really don't get all the hysterics surrounding her at the moment. Her 'sound' was being done throughout the 80s and early to mid 90s. It's called techno, house, electronica with some hip-hop/pop undertones. Ain't nothin' even remotely 'new' or 'innovative' about Lady Gaga that I can see, but she's amusing, writes her own material, plays instruments, and has a good voice. Bjork, Elton John, and Grace Jones were doing the outrageous costumes waay before the world even knew what a Lady Gaga was. I like some of her stuff but she's nothing to fall out over (JMHO). I'm anxious to see Christina do an electronic album because she's a vocalist and I love when techno/house DJs remix songs by vocalists like Mariah, Whitney, and Jennifer, so that's why I'm anticipating Chris's new album. Just my Prince Rogers Nelson
