PETA Criticise Michael Jackson Over 'Elephant Plans'
At comeback shows...
by Jason Gregory
Wednesday, March 25, 2009

Animal rights group PETA have expressed concern over reports Michael Jackson is planning to use live animals at his comeback gigs in London.

A report in today's Daily Mirror newspaper claimed the singer had asked organisers if he could ride onto stage on the back of an African Elephant at the O2 Arena gigs.

The animal would form part of an elaborate jungle section, which also includes a panther, three monkeys and a 100 Masai warriors, the newspaper claimed.

In a statement to Gigwise, a spokesperson for the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) condemned Jackson's reported plans.

"Michael Jackson gave away his chimpanzee, and left giraffes, elephants and other animals in appalling, cramped conditions when he vacated the Neverland Ranch,” they told Gigwise.

“These exotic animals belong in Africa, not the O2 Arena among screaming fans, bright lights and stage explosions.

“These wild animals are deprived of everything that is natural and important to them when they are forced to perform under stressful conditions.
"Michael needs to learn to leave exotic animals alone."

According to the newspaper, organisers have expressed concern that Jackson's plans could break animal welfare laws.

Jackson's 50 shows at the O2 Arena, which begin on July 8th, have already sold out.

The singer will perform to over a million people during his London residency, which will run into 2010.

Jackson, now 50, has not performed a full concert since he was cleared of child molestation charges in 2005. His last full tour, entitled HIStory, took place in 1996 and '97.

http://www.gigwise.com/ne...hant-Plans

So he's supposedly arriving by boat, wants to ride an elephant up on the stage, supposedly wants to adopt another baby from England and is threatening the auction house that's handling the auction of his stuff with "bloodshed" if they continue on with the auction rolleyes July is about 3 months away but already alot of drama is happening disbelief Are these nothing but rumors made up by the evil, MJ-hating media, lol, or are all these stories calculated PR stunts? hmmm
[Edited 3/25/09 10:08am]

if a PR company made any of that up, they certainly wouldn't be working for MJ unless he's completely flipped his lid, as who on earth would think of linking michael jackson up with kids as a positive thing? adoption stories, the kids from harry potter and a bunch of monkeys on stage? there was another sighting of him coming out a plastic surgery specialist with blue plastic bags over the heads of his kids. imagine how fucked up those kids are going to turn out

AEG haven't even sold all the fucking tickets, you wouldn't believe how many they've kept back, it makes the prince ticket fiasco seem like an example of good practice by comparison

what happened to turning up onstage, singing the songs people want to hear, and persuading folks to buy tickets because the show it actually good? if people want to see a circus they can see britney spears instead

Why are you getting so worked up about stories that are so obviously bullshit? Why don't you wait patiently and see, instead of throwing around accusations and blame before anything has actually happened? Do things that you have absolutely no stake in always affect you this powerfully?

And how many tickets have AEG kept back, exactly? You don't know we won't believe it until you give us the details. wink whofarted

Well you guys have to admit, there have been alot of crazy stories that have come out in that past week or so. They may or may not be true. I know all about just because you read it in a magazine or see it on a TV screen dont make it factual. Trust me, I know that to be true--but what I've also learned to be true is just because it sounds like made up BS doesnt mean it actually is either. Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction, and sometimes the stories turn out to be true or at least partially true. The thing is, with Michael, you never really know. You dont know what's been made up by the media, other people or by Michael himself, or what's the actual truth. It's always a guessing game with him.

For the record, I dont believe he really wants to adopt another child---I think he planted that story to the press just like I think he planted the story about him and Pam dating each other. As for the other craziness that's been reported, the jury's still out, Imma just wait and see what happens next in this crazy soap opera.

I agree entirely - which is why I think we should all wait for more facts to come out before we start jumping to conclusions. wink

funny how the sons of bitches fail to mention that MJ used to employ lots of people to take care of the animals on Neverland, and gave money to local farms to help them out.

If he wants to come into the o2 on an elephant, then fucking let him!

Fucking flying around like an astronaut during the History concerts was way wilder than sitting on an elephant!

Personally, he better land on the stage in a flying saucer!!
that will shut everyone up!

that bit is the shit!! Only he could come up with that!

i'm not worked up about it, i'm just sitting at home in front of a computer in my free time typing up some stuff on a website i've frequented for a long time as i have an interest in the primary subject matter.

what makes you think the stories are all bullshit? what would you say if any single one of them was proven to be correct? you give the impression that you wouldn't approve if that was the case. so if he adopted another child for example, would you approve of it? if he let the harry potter kids to his show, what fucking difference does it make? if he is on the understanding that he could bring animals into the o2 unaware of the legal aspect of it, and actually wanted it to happen, do you approve or not? you haven't really given your real opinion on the stories apart from rubbishing them. that sounds like an easy way of avoiding facts. in fact it sounds like the way MJ himself deals with issues, but just hiding them under the carpet, ignoring them and hoping they will go away

the fact is you are not michael jackson, unless i'm mistaken, so why the fuck would you or anyone else want to try and defend his bizarre actions on an internet forum? if you are a fan, who gives a fuck what anyone else types on the internet about him? the truth is the truth, the facts are facts, people have opinions on them, and you either like it or not

this is a fansite about prince, but if you look around the forums at any time, but taking today as a perfect example, and you will find people calling prince every name under the sun and dissing his website, album and any fucking thing they can think of. that's not only accepted by the org, but it's the norm. on this website people open up thier hearts and let it all spill out on what they feel about a subject, and put the bullshit to the side

if people can talk complete and utter shit about the very person who this site was created for, and has his name in the website URL and on every single page of the site, then people can say the same about anyone else

the fact is that MJ's career has quickly went on a downward spiral since thriller, with each album getting systematically worse than the previous one. off the wall was a great album, thriller was also a great album, the biggest selling album of all time so they say, even though it's arguably patchy compared to it's predecessor. bad was the start of things going wrong, but it still sold well, but that was the last of the good albums. everything from then just went pear shaped. sure he had some great tracks on the following albums, but they were like diamonds in the rough. the albums were patchy and non cohesive and sound very dated today. he didn't try anything new and exciting or interesting musically, which is why his scandals have outshined his musical career. that's why MJ will be thought of first and foremost by many people as a paedophile instead of a singer. he has only himself to blame for being in that position

i honestly don't know if he did or didn't abuse children, but i think there isn't smoke without a fire, and i saw him admit on camera on a tv interview that he slept with children that weren't his, and didn't think anything wrong about it, and his second wife confirmed in another interview that she never once shared a bed with him, and never had sex with him. you can't therefore blame me if i'm mistaken for believing he abused children

the thing is, i believe elvis slept with priscilla whilst under age, and r kelly and numerous other musicians did the same or similar things, perhaps even worse things, but that doesn't stop me listening to and enjoying the music. i don't give a fuck. if doing that creates fantastic music, then what they did was wrong, and i might not agree with it, but when i listen to the music i don't normally think about what they did around the time of creating it. i just think "that's rock and roll baby"

i just find it bizarre that fans of artists can't seperate the reality from the dream in the same way and just face the facts and think, well whoever was fucked up on herion when they made that album, and i know herion is bad, and people probably got killed in the production and shipping of that drug, but who gives a fuck as it's a fucking great album, and i love it, and who gives a fuck what anyone else thinks, whether it's true or not

i give people here the credit of being educated adults, so who are the MJ fans trying to fool by trying to deny some of the stories? you are only fooling yourself, no-one else in their right mind believes it. we all know that the tabloid press print all sorts of made up shit that's not true, but we talk about it one day and forget about it the next

anyways, as for the details about the tickets, i shouldn't have posted that information perhaps, but there are supposedly some AEG insiders here or people who think they have a mate who's shagging the bosses daughter at AEG or something and knows insider info, so perhaps one of them will step forward to confirm what i say. they may even be so bold as to give an idea of exactly how large the percentage of unsold tickets is. all i'll say on the matter is it's a pretty big percentage, and it relates to a rather large number of tickets. the majority of tickets are sold, but there is still a large chunk that have been kept back. AEG have essentially pulled a similar trick to the prince shows. you can believe me or not,i don't care. i could be lying or just making it up as far as you know, i don't care what you or anyone else thinks as long as no-one gets into trouble from the information i've provided, but hopefully it will give those without tickets a small amount of hope in getting the tickets they want

I think that they're BS until proven otherwise. This seems to be the logical position to have, since three out of four MJ stories tend to be false. If one of them is proven true, then I'll accept it quite happily, unless it's something morally or legally wrong, in which case I'll accept it unhappily.

Why wouldn't I approve of any of those things (although I admit I think inviting the HP kids would be a dumb PR move)? I would be happy to see MJ adopt another kid if that's what he wants, and riding in on an elephant, if he does it right, could be awesome. I didn't intend to come across as disapproving (sorry if I did), I was just generally annoyed that, once again, people (not necessarily you) immediately assume that anything said in relation to MJ must be true until proven otherwise. This time last month, I was getting annoyed at the same assumption being made about the whole MRSA thing (now clearly untrue), and before that it was the 'cannot breathe on his own, blind in one eye' story, and before that- Well, you get the point.

All I'm saying is let's wait and see before we start jumping to conclusions and calling MJ's people inept and talking about how fucked up his kids might be and all that. Is that really asking so much?

Britney Spears To Join Michael Jackson On Stage?
The king of pop invites the princess to take part in his shows...

Friday 27th Mar 2009

Britney Spears and Michael Jackson look set to make sweet music together at the king of pop's sold out London shows, it's claimed.

The Beat It star – who begins a year long string of shows dubbed This Is It in July – has reportedly invited Britney to join him on stage for a handful of performances in 2009 and in 2010 when his “final curtain call” comes to an end.
A source tells The London Paper, "Michael knows that stretching out all those shows and keeping it fresh is going to be hard, and one way to do this is to collaborate with some other big stars that he admires.

"The idea would be for them to do five dates each with him. As well as Britney and Justin, he's in talks with producer Timbaland about doing some of the dates too."

Meanwhile, Jacko who was forced to sell the Neverland mansion in 2005 to cover his legal costs, is certain to pocket huge revenues from his shows, which could also lead to single releases and a film.

Randy Phillips of concert promoters AEG says that Michael could rake in millions: "If we complete the full three-and-a-half year plan, he could gross over $400 million in that time. London could be north of $50 million."

According to Roger Friedman, Michael has ditched Thome Thome. Very interesting if true...hmmm

Jacko's Dad Wants Back in Good Graces

Michael Jackson’s father, Joseph Jackson, is back.

Say it ain’t so: Joe Jackson is looking for an opportunity to get back in son Michael’s good graces now that the cosmetically changed pop star has sold out 50 shows or more in England.

Jackson senior, who by all accounts tortured Michael as a child, just doesn’t know when to quit. Yesterday an emissary of his contacted this column and indicated that Michael had accepted as a new manager one of Jackson’s cronies.

The word was that Michael had axed Tohme R. Tohme, the Lebanese American businessman who’d been acting as Jackson’s manager and go between with Colony Capital, the company that co-owns the Neverland Ranch with him.

In Tohme’s place, I was told that Michael had hired Leonard Rowe, the Atlanta based talent manager who once worked with R. Kelly — and was sued by him as well as investors in a Kelly tour. Last October, Kelly was awarded $3.4 million by an arbitrator in a dispute with Rowe over back pay from his "Double Up" tour. It’s doubtful that Kelly, who’s written and produced with Michael Jackson in the past, would recommend Rowe as a manager or adviser of any kind.

But this is what’s going on in the Jackson camp now that there are millions of dollars at stake again in his career. Just a whiff of green has alerted all the vultures in his life, beginning with Joseph Jackson. Last week, Jackson pere called this reporter, with Rowe on the line, to assert that he was going to "get these shows organized and help Michael" — even though Jackson’s concert dates in London have been legitimately and brilliantly put together by Randy Phillips of AEG Live.

The effort to install Rowe looks like it’s yet another attempt by Joseph Jackson to worm his way back into Michael’s finances. Years ago — to be exact, on September 6, 2001 — Jackson senior called a press conference the day before Michael was to set to do his first 30th anniversary show at Madison Square Garden. Jackson announced that day he was starting a film company to license Jackson Five videos. Michael didn’t know his father was calling a press conference or starting a business. In the end, nothing came of it except sad realizations about the Jacksons’ dysfunctional family.

A source tells The London Paper, "Michael knows that stretching out all those shows and keeping it fresh is going to be hard, and one way to do this is to collaborate with some other big stars that he admires.

britney and michael will be able to lip synch a duet together. they wouldn't have to bother being onstage either. in fact they could duet whilst taking a piss break, it would just sound the same

People must be on crack if they believe that MJ is a britney fan.....the whole thing on the 30th anniversary was for commerical and rating reasons , the same goes for Nstink, both were hot back in the day, of course Mj doesn't need those but it worked... wink

Well that aint me cuz I personally dont think he's a fan of hers--I know Mike likes to collaborate with the people who are hot at the moment for commercial reasons, he's been doing that sort of thing ever since the 90s. I would like for him to not chase after who's hot at the moment but someone with some real artistry and talent who can bring something to the table. And as overexposed as she is, I'd rather he perform with Beyonce than Britney because unlike Britney, at least Beyonce is capable of singing live and on-key! lol

He doesnt need Britney, JT, Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers or anyone else to join him on stage...the fans want to see HIM, not anyone else. But since Mike has a track record of liking to perform or collaborate with whoever is the hot thing at the moment...that's why I'm really hoping you're right and that this is just another silly rumor...
