Well that's very sad. The problem is those of us who were fortunate enough to remember him well before the plasic and tackiness completely took over, keep hoping that underneath all that mess the real Michael Jackson is still there, somewhere.

And has anyone else wondered what his family truely think, not the sound bites they give to the media now and again, but what they truely think about their son, brother, cousin etc. I remember as early as 1987 a newspaper article proclaiming that Katherine Jackson(His Mother) said that looking at Michael at that time that it didn't seem that was her son, anymore. She probably lies of awake at night now, thinking where did it all go wrong!!

I always think that something went wrong with his brain after he got injured in the pepsi accident.

There might have been more to the accident, then the public is aware of.

Right after the accident, that's when the wacko behavior came into full swing- he brings Emmanuel Lewis to the AMAs along with Brooke Shields. That was his first bizzare stunt. Then bottles of bleaching creams were found in a makeup box from the Victory Tour (which was in storage)- according to some article on the web. Then he becomes reclusive as hell in 1985 and 1986. Then begins the story of the elephant man and hyperbaric chamber- to make him out to be "Bizaare". That was the beginning of Michael Jackson's problems. Then came that famous surgical mask- in 1988 for the first time. I think he went crazy after the fire in 1984. David Gest said the same thing too in an article I read (its a true article from 2007)- he said that Michael became a completely different person after his Pepsi accident, and became very unbalanced also because of the painkillers.

Can you even compmare the MJ of the motown 25 with the Michael Jackson you see now at the O2 press conference. Its just so sad. Its like seeing two different people.

I've not seen this painting, but I've heard/read of it. Have you seen a photo of it somewhere?

Furthermore, there was a version of the famous "Last Supper" painting with MJ featured in place of Jesus, and other famous people in place of the disciples.

These paintings--or photos of them at least--were reportedly shown to the jury at the 2005 trial. For example, Dimond talks about them in this column:

At any rate, the painting shown during "Living with MJ" (the Bashir documentary) was bad enough...fast forward to 3:50 on the clip linked here:

Prince doesn't behave the same way like Michael does, instead Prince just focuses on making good music rather another Thriller like MJ does. Prince doesn't go on about Purple Rain, and all. He just grows up with the times, and sadly Michael Jackson never did. His creativity has been on a decline for years- it the same style of concerts he continued to give from Bad era to History era.

I think the fact that Prince just released MPLS Sounds is a bit of a look back to the glory days, but I do understand where you are coming from.

I think that Michael grew up only judging success by the number 1 spot. Hell his first taste of being a recording artist was as an 11 year old with 4 consecutive number one songs. He learnt early on that being number 1 was all that mattered and kept them on at Motown. I think unfortunately he became fixated with being the best, both out of a personal drive and the need for validation. And this has stuck with him.

The sooner, in my opinion, he realises that NO-ONE will ever top Thriller, including himself, the greater freedom he will find in his music and the more at ease he will feel to move forward and stop trying to replicate. Sadly, the media and I think most people at large always focus on Thriller, and forget to see the whole body of work he has done which is truly amazing.

We fans can give him some weird gifts. Wasn't the MJ painting as Jesus (which was shown on LWMJ) a gift too?

I figured as much. lol That is still a weird-ass painting to me to this very day. lol As much as some think Michael's ego is, we're the ones to blow it up for him since he does find energy in our enthusiasm for him so he says "I'm gonna proudly display this." lol
