His appereance was typical, but I would have thought there were more fans. It seemed to me the cameras just filmed the firt thre rows because there weren't any more rows at hall!

Jacko: The Final Curtain Call

Michael Jackson didn't have much to say when he finally hit the makeshift stage at the O2 Arena this afternoon.

The press conference for his big comeback was scheduled for 11am, EST but went off at 12:42pm. The reason given: Jackson's van was stuck in traffic in Blackwall Tunnel between London and the arena.

Jackson strode into the Arena looking pretty healthy considering all the reports of his near death or fatal illnesses. Indeed, his face looked recently refreshed by cosmetic surgery, which would explain the many pictures of him with scarves and bandages. His mouth and chin are now more reminiscent of Steven Tyler. With the hair, he could also be confused with Carly Simon. But it's Jacko, he's wacko, and he's backo.

In his few minutes on stage he told the crowd of fans that he loved them and that he'd see them in July. He also promised to sing all the songs they loved. Other than that, Jackson had nothing else to say except that he wasn't "kidding" and this would be his "final curtain call."

But Jackson must say that to sell the number of tickets required to make this effort a success. His worldwide fans must be convinced that they will never have a chance to see him again. But in reality Jackson - who wouldn't know the truth if it moonwalked on him - said it was last appearance in London. Whatever.

Now producer AEG Live has to ensure that ticket sales take off like a rocket. To do that they've taken over total sponsorship this Sunday of "Dancing on Ice," on Britain's ITV Network. The producer will show a three minute clip of Jackson's videos, touting the shows. Let's just hope that Jackson himself isn't skating on thin ice.

London, England (CNS) - Michael Jackson's fans have been warned not to buy tickets to his rumored upcoming shows unless they are sold through official vendors.

The King of Pop is hotly expected to announce a series of shows for his comeback tour at the O2 Arena in London, where hundreds of his fans waited for the statement.

Fans who are eagerly anticipating the shows are being warned that they might buy fake tickets if they are not careful.

U.K.'s Association of Secondary Ticket Agents' Graham Burns told examiner.com, "We are warning people not to buy tickets that are not yet on sale because it is unlikely that they will receive those tickets."

"It's impossible when the dates haven't been announced to be selling tickets for something when there are no announced dates."

I hope too he sings live but when I saw him at Wembley years and years ago he mimed so not holding out much hope for live vocals - would be great though. Michael Jackson Says London Concerts To Be 'Final Curtain Call'

Michael Jackson has confirmed his July residency at London's O2 arena during a press conference at the venue, describing it as the "final curtain call."

Hundreds of screaming fans turned up for the announcement, as well as members of the media, after promoters AEG Live posted a message on the 23,000-capacity venue's Web site inviting people to attend.

"Thank you all... this is it," said Jackson, who appeared an hour and a half late at 5.30pm. "I just wanted to say, these will be my final show performances in London. When I say this is it, it really means this is it. I'll be performing the songs my fans want to hear. This is it, this is really it, this is the final curtain call."

He added: "I'll see you in July and... I love you. I really do, you have to know that, from the bottom of my heart. This is it and see you in July."

The first date is July 8 and tickets go on sale March 13. Tickets are priced £50 ($70) to £75 ($106). Full details will be announced later.


Posters advertising 10 shows, also stating 'This is it,' appeared on the London Underground before the announcement.

The statement issued announcing the residency says that Jackson's O2 shows will be "history in the making as the King of Pop Michael Jackson performs in London for the last time."

Rob Hallett, president international touring, AEG Live, said in the statement: "We are delighted to facilitate the return of the King of Pop, long may he reign! Michael at the O2 this summer will surely be the highlight of the musical year.

"When Michael Jackson performs, the eyes of the world will be watching. Look out for an International flavor to the audience, as this will be his only concerts in the world this year."

Billboard.com had already revealed details of the residency and, earlier today, AEG president and CEO Tim Leiweke told the audience at the Billboard Music & Money Symposium that Jackson is likely to perform a total of 20 to 25 shows at the O2 Arena once further dates are added to the initial 10 shows.

"We spent two years working with Michael trying to get him comfortable with this," said Leiweke, during his keynote Q&A at the St. Regis Hotel in New York City. He added that the singer is "very focused."

Jackson has not released a studio album or played a full concert since 2001. His last major tour was the HIStory World Tour in 1996-1997.

If the shows do well, Mike may do a Cher and instead of 10 shows, he'll go on two years, lol. Or maybe do like Prince and go 30, it depends, I guess... and I doubt this is the "final curtain call" either, he's trying to sell tickets but hell he can sell tickets on his fucking name for God sakes, lol.
