so is strutboy a good source for this stuff of is he just winding MJ fans up? the info in here seems fairly precise and seems like he knows it for sure, but he could just be good at making shit up.

and he has posted 12 times in 2 years of being a member.

anyone got feedback on his reliablity?

He's trying to wind up both P and MJ fans who like one or the other exclusively.

IS this shade to Prince? I mean Prince did it and MJ wants to do 9 more dates than him...

It's not true.

MJ can't go that long in a stretch -- it conflicts with his plastic surgery and skin bleaching appointments.

Despite the usual cynical reaction by orgers - perhaps sadness that our man's record run will be broken - as a person who has been directly attached to both ground events, I can confirm that this summer's comeback will go ahead. There is no rumour element to this. AEG Live and Outside Organisation are handling it - just like Prince.

What's more is that Mr. Jackson was in perfect health last week, just a few training sessions short of tour readiness.

He is chomping at the bit to get back out there, and it's not just the money or proving people wrong. Jackson lives for his fans and the live performance. He has been through very difficult times, which made getting the best out of him was unlikely in recent years. He is very eloquent on the subject. Being the consumate professional and perfectionist, Jackson now feels in the right state of mind, with the right energy and motivation to produce his very best.

You can doubt all you like, but 2009 will go down as the year that the improbable happened, the year when Michael Jackson restored his mantle as one of history's greatest and most reputed live performers.

I will post some more details about the shows themselves at a later date.

If 2007 was the year of Prince, 2009 heralds the return of a King.

This entire post is just falloff

This has to be the work of a troll, cause MJ couldn't even pull enough of an audience to go 11 nights, let alone more than 21. lol

lol, you're an idiot.
prince is a killer live performer, but there is no way you can convince a person with even half a brain that prince concerts would sell better than michael jackson concerts in london. thats a moronic suggestion.

There are a lot of die-hard fans for sure, but to sell out that many nights in London (an expensive city to fly to and stay in), he's gonna need to draw in casual listeners like Prince did. And your average listener is just not going to be overly excited to watch an aging alleged child molester lip sync his most famous hit (Billy Jean--mother fucker LOVES to lip sync that shit).

Wrong! First of all, London is one of the cheapest european cities to go to... almost every low cost air carrier flies to London and with the low Euro to Pound rate, which currently exists, it's even cheaper to stay there! Secondly, this city daily has thousands of tourists, which mostly stay only a couple of days, so at least once a week there are new people flocking into town!

So if MJ does 30 shows, spread out over 2 months, he has very good chances to fill those shows! Despite what you here all think, it's still Michael Jackson, he's still a draw (especially in the UK... just look at his record sales there) and the masses probably don't care too much whether it's lipsyncing or not as long as they get a great dance show with all the hits they know... and who cares if he does the same thing all the time... the last time he's been on tour was 12 years ago... so for people, who have seen him once or people who have never seen him before, the hits in the old fashioned way is exactly what they want... of course, for long time fans, who have seen him plenty of times, it's a different story!

So really, if there are moderate ticket prices (like with Prince) and if he hasn't totally lost his ability to put on a entertaining show, it should be a no brainer that he would succeed!

Hmm... 'Strutboy' seems to be the user formerly known as 'Irishwolfshound'... so based on last year's experience of him swearing up and down, with supposed insider information, that Prince's Croke Park gig in Dublin would go ahead (which as we all know eventually didn't), despite Housquake and several other people already claiming that it won't go ahead and that it's being cancelled, I wouldn't trust this person!

lmao @ Strutboy's post.

anyway, to those who are saying mj couldn't do this, the only thing that would stop him is health. mj could sell it all out because of one thing... curiosity. after all the controversies and time away, the event would be hyped and promoted majorly and way over the top like all post thriller mj albums. this would get people going for the reason i just said, curiosity.

Remember, this is the most famous man in the world.

having said all that, in no way do i think it will top 21 nights, prince is beyond all as a live performer.

i would probably go, just as a tribute to my childhood when i was a MAJOR fan (another reason people would go).

thats what i think alot of the people here don't understand, they are in the own little fan world where prince is god and everyone hates mj. they don't realize that despite the fact that people may not like him personally, probaly about 98% of all people who know who Mj is like at least some of his music. I have never met ANYONE who dissed michael's talent until I came to this site. Like a said people may hate mj and everything about him, but they like his music. And I know I live in the ATL, I see a spectrum of people everyday from red-neck country white people to Ghetto urban black people.

Jerking off on stage? I didnt see that version. Must have been after the watershed.

I do remember one guy, "Sam" - you know the one whos goin bald but is only 21? I found that mildly humerous but not as much as his MJ "dancing" - it looked like he was jerking off a chicken then bending over and recieving from a cow. Still, its good to know he went into debt for the king of poop. Wasnt his girlfriend the "model"? i saw some pics of her once - lets just say i know what she had for breakfast.
