Madonna had also a 8 year touring break from '93 to '01! Unlike Michael she is not a single parent (at least she wasn't) and still only went on tour over the summer months, when her kids were not in school! She specifically mentioned that as a reason for not going to Australia on the Confessions tour!

So, Michael's situation is not really comparable... espically if you consider the trouble with the record company from '01 to '02, the trial from '03 to '05 and the recovery from it in the following years! Who knows how things would have went if all that crap wouldn't have happened!

And sorry, just because someone is a recording artists doesn't oblige him to go on tour!

No,I don't buy any of those excuses. If Michael truly wanted to tour, there is nothing holding him back.He just doesn't want to tour anymore, which is fine, but he should be honest about it and let the fans know that he has retired from live performances.I would be pissed if Madonna was playing games like this with her fans.

He hasnt said he's not touring, and he has NOT even hinted that he is touring. Cant the man just live his life in peace and do what the fck he wants? If he doesnt feel like touring, why should he? If he decides next week he wants to, he can. Who gives a shit. He doesnt owe anyone any explanations, answers, nothing. He shouldnt have to tell his "fans" his every friggin thought or movement. He has given so much to the world of entertainment. There is no need to retire, because that in itself would create a fuss, and then if he feels he wants to make a career move then he would have to come OUT of retirement and ruffle more feathers. Just leave the poor guy alone and let him life his life as he pleases, seriously!

rolleyes Of course he has the right to do whatever he pleases but just the same, people have the right to criticize if they choose to.Get off his nutsack and stop defending/explaining/justifying his every move.If you don't want to see him being criticized, then why the hell are you on a Prince fansite?

The reason I suggested retirement is because it would stop all these silly rumors and press reports about a tour that's not likely to ever happen.YOU obviously don't care about this, but I think it's sad when fans get excited/hopeful about something that ain't gonna happen. That's my opinion.

At this point,if he's not release a new CD or go on tour,he should just raid his vault and release a bunch of old recordings.I wish Prince would do this, too.

To be honest, I'm moving on to other music, I guess I'll play MJ based on how I'm feeling. Now I'm playing shit online from people like Little Brother and shit like that. lol

If Mike comes back, great, if he doesn't, great. Doesn't bother me...

I hope Mj pulls if off but.....it will probably go something like this.
Greatest hits show with the same EXACT show every night or Mj missing a few dates here and there and when he does perform, the same exact show.

Lots of lip syncing.....

I'm kinda reluctant on doing another MJ thread right now lol I might when all the other ones die down

I still have to post this interview he did in '79 on Youtube. Looks like I'm the only one who has it

Yeah Iknow what you mean, but, you shouldnt let excited fans piss you off! Just ignor em. They built the excitement in their own heads. Not because of anything Michael does. There is no word on what michael jackson is doing and i dunno why people let it consume their lives 110%. most MJ fans need to get a hobby haha because he is the kind of artist who doenst like to tell people what he is doing, and often doesnt like to DO anything at all! And if he IS doing something he sure as heck doesnt look like he wants to share it just yet. But yeah, its the personal choice of a fan to build hopes and have them broken. Message to MJ fans: Just chill dudes! Buy Prince's new albums or something lol!

Billie Jean is NOT Michael's best composition.

and he has posted 12 times in 2 years of being a member.

anyone got feedback on his reliablity?

Despite the usual cynical reaction by orgers - perhaps sadness that our man's record run will be broken - as a person who has been directly attached to both ground events, I can confirm that this summer's comeback will go ahead. There is no rumour element to this. AEG Live and Outside Organisation are handling it - just like Prince.

What's more is that Mr. Jackson was in perfect health last week, just a few training sessions short of tour readiness.

He is chomping at the bit to get back out there, and it's not just the money or proving people wrong. Jackson lives for his fans and the live performance. He has been through very difficult times, which made getting the best out of him was unlikely in recent years. He is very eloquent on the subject. Being the consumate professional and perfectionist, Jackson now feels in the right state of mind, with the right energy and motivation to produce his very best.

You can doubt all you like, but 2009 will go down as the year that the improbable happened, the year when Michael Jackson restored his mantle as one of history's greatest and most reputed live performers.

I will post some more details about the shows themselves at a later date.

If 2007 was the year of Prince, 2009 heralds the return of a King.

This entire post is just falloff

This has to be the work of a troll, cause MJ couldn't even pull enough of an audience to go 11 nights, let alone more than 21. lol

There are a lot of die-hard fans for sure, but to sell out that many nights in London (an expensive city to fly to and stay in), he's gonna need to draw in casual listeners like Prince did. And your average listener is just not going to be overly excited to watch an aging alleged child molester lip sync his most famous hit (Billy Jean--mother fucker LOVES to lip sync that shit).
