Chris Brown being dropped from radio playlists and losing gigs, is it fair?

Singer Chris Brown has lost his big money endorsement deals with Wrigley gum and I Got Milk, plus he has been dropped from the NBA All-Star game activities this week and a Valentine's Day show. To add to his woes, many radio stations have decided to remove his music from their station playlists.

What do you think? Has the court of public opinion already judged Brown guilty and his career is now tanked?

Chris Brown is getting what he deserves.Behave like a prick, you get treated like a prick.Yes,a man is innocent until proven guilty but come on....it's clear that he beat Rihanna. If this is the way he's gonna conduct himself,he can kiss his career goodbye.

There is no excuse for his behavior. You do not go around beating women! I don't care if she started it, tell her to get the hell out of your car and go. He deserves everything that is coming to him.

There is no excuse to hit a woman but at the same time im hearing abunch of he said she said and us judging the situation aint really helping no body. It aint right for everyone to just call him guilty cause the media hasnt even said what really happened or if rihanna is in a bad condition thats my input.

exactly, I can't believe how people are judging him and they don't even know the full story. I don't recall any of us being there at the incident so really NOBODY ON THIS SITE, NOR IN THE MEDIA KNOWS WHAT REALLY HAPPENED, so how can any of you judge? No it isn't fair that his songs are being dropped from playlists....I mean damn everybody knew Ike Turner was beating Tina's ass because of some concerts being cancelled and she singing with sunglasses on to hide black eyes....but this has been the ONLY incident where Chris is being ACCUSED of beating her...I mean really, if he really was an abuser, don't you think her behavior would have been odd way before now??? I mean more concerts would have been cancelled, she would be showing up late to award shows, photo shoots, interviews, etc.

I'm not trying to justify the situation, but I don't understand how everybody coming down so damn hard on Chris Brown...when to be honest, everybody really wasn't on Ike's dick like this when he was abusing Tina...and that man even raped Tina.

R.Kelly was accused and yet they still play his songs...MJ was accused yet people still dance to PYT and Thriller...so is it fair that they dropping Chris' songs, HELL NO.

Exactly.Even if she hit him first,he shouldn't have hit her back.Obviously,he's physically stronger and bigger than she is.It's not likely that she could kick his ass.

I have to say I'm a little surprised that they stopped playing his music especially when all the facts aren't in.

I don't think there was a skip in rotation of R. Kelly and there was footage of him.

Okay so that makes it alright then.....so Prince is ok then he would get kicked around like a football by Bria...she is much bigger and stronger than him...and there is nothing he could do about it...Yeah ... eek

Why don't we just all change the law to suite our own personal needs! biggrin

Would people care if he beat a woman who wasn't famous? I doubt it.

I'm not sure if R Kelly's career was been damaged by the allegations made against him, but if an Olsen twin was the alleged victim I’m sure the implications would be worse.

But I’m sure people will forget about this in due course. I mean he only physically abused a person, it’s not like he flashed his boob– that is unforgivable.

How are are we prematurely judging him? Obviously something did happen where somebody got hurt and he was involved. His family has a history of abuse, (his step father abused his mother, in front of Chris). As for Rihanna, she once said that her parents used to have violent arguments all of the time. Statistics show that kids that come from abusive homes are 4 times as likely commit abuse themselves. This behavior can lay dormant in a person for years and show up without warning. The reason why it has not shown up until now is probably because, he has not been pushed far enough for it to show up. If he did do it, he should be punished. Celebrity does not and should not protect him the consequences of his actions. I don't feel sorry for him, due to the fact that he should have had enough sense to walk away.

and if people really think its fair that his songs get dropped from radio playlists, then fine....the following artists below songs should be dropped too:

James Brown (domestic abuse)
Ike Turner (domestic abuse)
Jimi Hendrix (domestic abuse)
Notorious BIG (domestic abuse)
Big Pun (domestic abuse)
R. Kelly (child molestation)
MJ (child molestation)
Pete Townsend (child molestation)
Christopher Williams (domestic abuse; but his songs aren't played anyway, lol )
and the list would get longer and longer.

This is why its NOT fair that they are dropping Chris' songs.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Um, if a woman is choosing to get physical then she takes the risk of somebody getting physical back.

DURR

If a woman hits me in the face, there are circumstances when I'm hitting back.

That said...

It sounds like Chris Brown went way overboard, and he really needs some contrition.
