Madonna's Sticky & Sweet Tour Official Thread!

Intro/Candy Shop
Beat Goes On
Human Nature
Vogue

Video Interlude - Die Another Day
Into The Groove
Heartbeat
Borderline
She's Not Me
Music

Video Interlude - Rain/Here Comes The Rain Again
Devil Wouldn't Recognize You
Spanish Lesson
Miles Away
La Isla Bonita/Lela Pala Tute
Doli Doli (Live interlude - Romanian folk song)
You Must Love Me

Video Interlude - Get Stupid (About saving the planet)
4 Minutes
Like A Prayer
Ray Of Light
Hung Up
Give It To Me (Finale)

And here's our latest update on the Sticky & Sweet track list. We heard that the list of songs that we report below is basically the FINAL one and it includes video and live interludes. But before going into it, here are some exclusive tidbits on what we will be seeing and hearing during this great show!

The show features four main section. The show opener, Candy Shop, has now a longer intro compared to the promo tour version. A musical intro a la Drowned World Tour, with bits and pieces of song form Hard Candy that we will be hearing later in the show fades into the "C-A-N-D-Y" intro from the promo tour.

The clock ticking theme from 4 minutes can be heard several times during the show. In the show intro, in Vogue and in the "Get Stupid" interlude, which reminds of the Confessions Tour's Sorry Video interlude. In Get Stupid there are samples of Give It 2 Me, 4 Minutes and Beat Goes On and it's about our chance to save our planet from the various damages we created.

The use of music samples is very big on this tour. Many of the classic hits are musically re-arranged as mash-ups and the songs are sung on musical tracks heavely sample-ing other dance songs. Like A Prayer, for example, which, as previously reported by M-Tribe, has entered the set list is now replacing Impressive Instant and it's delivered using musical parts of the 1992 dance hit by Felix "Don't You Want Me".

Into The Groove, that contains a small sample of Madonna's Jump, is also delivered using musical parts of another dance song "Toop Toop" by Cassius, while Borderline is a great "rocky/ska" re-invention of the classic 1983 ballad.

The first video interlude, a fast and speeded up version of the James Bond theme Die Another Day, features exclusive new footage of Madonna as a boxeur, from the brand new photoshoot by Tom Munro for the Tour Book.

The second video interlude mashes up Madonna's Rain with the Eurythmics' Here Comes The Rain Again, using their original version and leading to Devil Wouldn't Recognize You. Originally supposed to play the piano herself on this song, Madonna will now be placed on the piano, reminessing a bit the Sooner Or Later performance from Blond Ambition.

After La Isla Bonita mixed with Lela Pala Tute, there's a live interlude with Romanian/Gipsy song "Doli Doli" which is not sung by Madonna, who will be back on stage to close the section with a fierce rendition of the Accademy Award winning song "You Must Love Me" by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber.

This costume is part of Act 3 (the "Gypsy" segment)

This costume is part of Act 2 (the "Old School" segment)

I'm guessing this costume will appear somewhere in Act 3...probably during the first song of that segment ("Devil") or maybe it'll be for "Like A Prayer"!

I think it's the best setlist since BAT!
really, for me, the HC era is one of her best ever. It's sad she has no time for doing TV shows but I can't wait for teh first tour clips on youtube!!

I love the costumes, and yes, I hope Heartbeat will be a cool performance. I wonder how well she'll sing it.

The only song I really dislike is Ray Of Light. I'm tired of hearing it. Probably it's a cooler, newer version. Stuart did his best to reinvent it, but I liked the orginal always the most.

BTW, I think it's cool too, that Madonna isn't one of those artists who only tours with her biggest hits over and over. And God knows she could!!

I enjoy the fact she does NINE songs out of HC!!

I hope, it will push sales a little. And that more people will buy her singles.

"Dance 2night" would have been perfect for the first segment....the third or fourth song.

yeah "Borderline" is quite a surprise, isn't it? I was beginning to think that she would never perform it again.

I wasn't thrilled with the setlist, but just to see Madonna in Wicca ware, I might have to go. No "Erotica" besides "Rain", no "Bedtime Stories" (hey, lots of people love that album!) and again, totally ignoring the "True Blue"/"Who's That Girl" era....is that just anger at Steve Bray (maybe not...she's doing "Into The Groove", their first definitive song together and maybe the only one that has really last the test of time.

I wonder if "Like A Prayer" would be TOO obvious for that costume? After all, she wore something similar on the Blond Ambition Tour as well.

Congrats to the Detroit fans by the way! wink

do you think she and Bray could be mad? Why? Was there ever a proper reason? I mean, before he released Pre-Madonna?!

Anyway, I just think she despises WTG because the film was shit and the whoe, period must be pretty painful for her.
The only song she really seems to love from that time is La Isla Bonita. But it's not personal.

I'm not sure how true it is, but supposedly Stephen Bray got mad at Madonna in 1989 because Madonna let Shep Pettibone remix "Express Yourself" & "Keep It Together" for the single versions, "ruining" Stephen's work. Supposedly Patrick Leonard got angry as well, but he came back for I'm Breathless, while Stephen Bray didn't. And while Madonna and Pat are still in good terms and they kept on collaborating then and now, Stephen Bray did nothing with Madonna since 1989.

People say "Pre-Madonna" was the reason for the anger, but that makes sense. Doubt "Pre-Madonna" helped.

It might be true. They tried anyway, with "Get Over". But it was obvious Bray couldn't bring Madonna into a new direction. She always used them for dance songs and since the scene changed drastically in the early 90s it was only obvious she didn't need SB anymore.
Well, if you ask me, whatever happened, Bray should have a Madonna shrine. Without her he never would have made as much money as he did.
