I absolutely love this track!! I thought I was the only who knew about it & loved it. At first listen a long time ago, I thought it was a nice love song, but after further review, it's obviously gospel, with just a little bit of subtlety. Great post!

Hell, I thought I was the only one, lol-- Glad I'm not! I know this tune got some minor airplay on the east coast, but outside of that I wasn't sure...

Good point about the subtlety, though--- that's just one of the things I liked about the whole album-- while all the songs were about love, relationships, and/or God, it wasn't hitting you over the head---- subtle, yet matter of fact...and from what I've read, the songs were meant to be that way, take 'em whichever way you wanted...

I'm surprised it never even got a Japanese reissue on CD, although I've seen some of the tunes on some Japanese Import soul compilations.....

I started a thread about "Joyous Flame" a year or two ago.

It got a lot of airplay in Detroit.

I am still surprised that people thought it was a love song. lol

I remember when I first heard this track way back in the day, and I thought it was Deniece Williams. Was I the only one?
