This will be the first time Mike ever has a sample in his music unfortunatley right?

Not counting "Will U Be There"

He used samples in HIStory and Little Susie. But he used them creatively. Expecially in HIStory. That's how samples should be used. I don't want Kanye getting MJ to lay vocals over a EWF horn riff or something. If Kanye insists on using samples in MJ's music, then I hope it's done creatively like in HIStory.

It's a damn shame when an artist with actual talent turns to shit hoppers to work on their album. Michael has been a sellout for years but now he's taking sellout to different levels like his sister. I hope his album flops.

Translation: "Off The Wall" with most of the instruments stripped off, shit hop sounding drum machines and bass all over it, and the tempo slowed way down. That will not sound anything like "Off The Wall". "Off The Wall" was very disco influenced and disco was fast, hard, and funky, not weak, slow, and dull.

His albums will never flop regardless of what you hope nor wish for. lol

And whoever said Invincible sounded like Off the Wall is on that good ish. And you'll see many people who actually like OTW better than Thriller, although the latter was the sold more [and of all time]. Don't forget when OTW was released, it was the highest selling album for a black artist at the time, so its not as if it was some miminal success.

If you are looking for fast music, I suggest you listen to some Bach. Some of the best fast music ever composed. nod Modern popular music is quite slow compared to some of his compositions.

I wasn't downing "Off The Wall" at all. That was his absolute best and funkiest solo album ever. The ones that followed it were a bunch of pop crossover sounding ones. I was downing him for working with shit hoppers. They may say that his new album will sound like "Off The Wall" but I will believe that when I see it. I don't take a shit hoppers word for it because they don't know what they are talking about. I've heard them call their own songs funky and they are far from funky.

lol I always bring up classical music as a way to insult the shit hoppers by saying that their music is slower than classical music. In reality though, I'm not joking. There is classical music that is much faster than shit hop.

More than likely none of these people who are talking about MAMA I GAT TO WORK WITH MICCAHJACKSON! 's tracks will never make it on the album. Poor babies..lol

Seriously, you guys are acting like Michael is just going to go with the flow, is being a 'sell out' and will be following whatever the producers intend to do just because he happens to be [possibly] working with them; on the basis on...nothing! This is MJ's album. He is going to do it his way, and the way he wants to. And besides, like anybody has the guts to try and make Michael Jackson do what they want to do with his music falloff Not even Kanye. Speaking of, Kanye had said that Michael had called him on the phone after [I think] something he said about him in one of songs falloff

So MJ's going to sell his musical soul and use samples of other peoples work for the basis of his songs? Awesome.

Everyone is judging Michael's new music even though we've heard nothing? Awesome.

You've got to admit, it will be a sad day when a Michael Jackson song consists of a musical sample a drum machine and some sound effects. At least in the past when working with "hot" producers he was able to keep his musical integrity with real compositions. I don't Kanye is capable of making a decent musical piece without the base of it being someone else's work.

HOW DO YOU KNOW WHAT IS AND HOW IS THESE SONG(S) GOING TO COME OUT? HOW ARE YOU MAKING CRITIQUE WHEN YOU NOR I HAVE EVEN HEARD ANYTHING YET? THE ALBUM HASN'T COME OUT AND WE HAVE EVERYONE AND THEIR MAMA GIVING THEIR ALBUM REVIEWS. STOP IT! eek

The best way Mike could "recapture the magic" as you will of "Off the Wall" is if he worked with a no-bullshit producer (like Raphael Saadiq for instance) and Ray-Ray hardly brags about being on anybody's record. What you see is what you get. Maybe he'll be like Quincy and brag on after the fact, lol. "That boy is something". Until then you gonna have people who think they get anybody a hit talking about how he thinks they're gonna be the ones to bring Mr. Jackson back.

I don't think he should work with any producers. He should get together with his brothers and they should write, produce, and play all the songs with real instruments and real funk. He should just ignore what's on the radio today and what's been on the radio for the last 15 years.

No, his album wouldn't be a huge mainstream success, but like Prince, he has a huge enough fan base that will buy anything that he puts out so he could at least save his musical reputation with smaller sales from his fanbase rather than a huge sellout mainstream smash.

Exactly. And I can almost guarantee there won't be a single track even near the tempo of "Working Day and Night" or "Don't Stop Till You Get Enough" with a shit hopper working on it. And even if they make something even remotely uptempo, it will be ruined with those weak ass drum machines they use that just barely pound.

Off The Wall? That's one of his least succesful albums. Invincible sounded like Off The Wall and didn't do MJ well.

Don't you know about Michael Jackson's career. Off The Wall turned Michael Jackson from a star to a superstar. By 1980 it sold 8 million albums worldwide, and to date it's sold over 18 million albums worldwide. Plus it contained two No.1 singles and was the first album have 4 singles reach the Top 10 from an album.

I think Kanye West is an asshole, and I also hate his music.

I don't like the idea of Michael Jackson working with Kanye West. But nothing has "officially" been confirmed or denied.

Only a few tracks recorded by Will.I.Am and Kanye West (if he's working with MJ) will appear on Michael Jackson's new album. It's highly unlikely any artist/producer working with Michael will be producing the whole album. It's more than likely Michael Jackson's new album will be (as far as producers go) like History, where there are songs only written/composed and produced by Michael Jackson, and then songs co-produced and produced with various producers. Their will be other producers and co-song writers working with Michael Jackson who haven't been mentioned by the media (because the media talk crap).

The only person that's known to be officially working with Michael is Will.I.Am. I hope the Kanye West story isn't true. Before Invincible was released, the media said Michael was in the studio working with P.Diddy and Destiny's Child and none of those rumors were true.

I like the fact Michael is working with Kanye.

I don't consider Kanye a shit hopper because his music is actually good. You can dance to it(yes he has some uptempo), you can sing along to it, and it can make you think.

If Michael was working with 50 Cent, Sean Kingston, and people like that, I'd be the first person to be pissed off.

I have to agree. If you hire hip-hop producers, don't expect your album to sound like Off The Wall, expect it to sound like a hip-hop album.

YES !!!!!

And Raphael even spoke about how Off the Wall is his favorite album (period). In that 'Number Ones' special back in 2003? He aws one of the commentators and he mentioned that.

YES! He is PERFECT. Somebody forward this to Michael. lol

heck I'd even stretch and say pharell for fast paced tracks or babyface for a more classic sound

Usher may not be a producer but he is the only one who has captured the Michael of the past perhaps Usher would remind him how he used to put it down while bringing him up to 2008 cool alot has happenend with Michael and him being in another country for a while he might be a tad out of the loop lol

I agree. Kanye West really can't do shit if it doesn't have to do with pressing a button or splicing old songs for loops. Damn, why can't Michael Jackson work with someone like Raphael Saddiq or Marcus Miller? Stokley and/or Mint Condition? Sweetback?

true lol

I'm just hoping it's a good album.
Even though Invincible isn't my favorite, I can still listen to parts and enjoy it.

Invincible suffered from:
1.Overproduction(example-Unbreakable, Heartbreaker, Invincible, 2000 Watts, Privacy)
2.Overly sappy/corny(Cry, The Lost Children, Speechless, You Are My Life, the intro to You Rock My World)
