You know, one good thing about this collaboration is: I do not think West is known for "sappy" songs. His tracks should sound nothing like "The Lost Children" or "Cry."

Which is why I'm glad that other Chicago nut ain't producing the record. lol I was afraid R. Kelly was gonna try to produce Michael being trapped in Neverland's closet or something. lol

Oh, so you seriously think he writes this shit into his liner notes and knowingly, personally, rips of Yes (or their writers)? Especially with him being a publisher as well? And you also seriously think that no one would have noticed that except you? If anything that's a record company slip up, which I highly doubt ever happened in this case! Just because you don't find anything doesn't mean shit!

but remembered to give the writing creds...
But there is no record of the slip up...
i am not making this shit up...
go check copyright.us and BMI
its not there
it should be...
Course this could be and understatement
but if i can alwayys go to BMI headquarters in manhattan and check out the hardcopy of the publishing...

He's not a publisher?? 'scuse me, but the last time I checked he has owned 50 percent of Sony/ATV publishing... so, that defacto makes him a publisher!

I don't know, but it was Sony, who released the record, wasn't it? He (or whoever does that for him) mentioned that he has used that sample, excerpt... whatever! It's Sony's job to make that legal.. isn't it? To make sure, that they don't publish and release anything, which they aren't allowed to, right? Michael is the singer and songwriter! He has people and a record company to take care of the legal things!

But yes, go to Manhattan if it bothers you that much and if you don't have a live!

see i can forgive your ingnorance
because the comment you just made, makes me aware that you don't understand what your reading about mj...
MJ owns publishing!
meaning the licenses to several songs that were published before...
A publisher is a company that does the actual publishing of the song...
IE BMI, ASCAP etc
after you do the innitial publishing their is a statute of limitations on it before it goes up sale publically (depending on the contract circumstances)
Thus your licensing rights arre forfeited to the highest buyer EG MJ/Sony
MJ is not a publisher, he's a publishing holder...

You've got to admit, it will be a sad day when a Michael Jackson song consists of a musical sample a drum machine and some sound effects. At least in the past when working with "hot" producers he was able to keep his musical integrity with real compositions. I don't Kanye is capable of making a decent musical piece without the base of it being someone else's work.

Hmm, is it really me, who doesn't know what he's talking about or is it you, who doesn't fully know what he's talking about? ASCAP is no publisher... it's the "American Society of Composers, Artists and Publishers"! It's like the RIAA, which is not a record company, but an association of all (most) american record companies! So ASCAP acts on behalf of, amongst others, publishers like Sony/ATV Music Publishing!

Sony/ATV Music Publishing IS a publishing company, hence the name... of which Michael owns 50 % of... but whatever, it's splitting hair now! What I meant is, that Michael is somebody, who's making a substantial amount of money through publishing, both of his own and other people's work! A person who knows what it means, if somebody is using a song illegally! So I doubt he would knowingly do that himself!

But go ahead... do what you have to do! I have enough of this!

Well, I doubt that Michael would stand for that!
