Glad I'm not the only one! I taped it and flipped around...Madonna kicked ass. Coldplay played one of the few songs from them that I really like....but was Chris Martin high or is that how he performs?

Mariah got three Grammys also. They were all given out prior to the show.

What was up with Sly's hand? He had it pretty well bandaged including what looked like two fingers. I wondered how he was able to play.

Oh I forgot about Coldplay (gee I wonder why?) Another bad performance. This is supposed to be the next U2. HA!

U2 was good as always.

Again, glad I'm not the only one on both those comments....Kanye West is very close to becoming "Werid Al" without the humour! I love the fact that he kept pushing that "Thank You List" as if people couldn't see it...We get it...You're an asshole egomanic and a crybaby when you don't get acknowledged!

That's his schtick.

Seriously though, what is all the hype with him. Seems pretty ordinary to me...

Madonna/Gorillaz - lame and disappointing I am a Madonna fan but that did nothing for me at all and her singing was bad. She needs to fire her stylist or whoever for letting her go on with that horrible leotard. It's not cute. Gorillaz what can you really do with something like them? I'd really like to know. It didn't move me at all. Still like the song though.

Kelly Clarkson - she was one of the better peformers plus she was so sincere when she won those awards. She deserved them and I'm happy for her.

John Legend - bored I hope to never hear Ordinary People EVER again.

Kayne and Jamie - he may get on my nerves but the performance started strong. It went a bit long at the end though.

Herbie Hancock and Christina Aguilara - good performance. Christina sounded great and complimented Herbie's piano. A bit too much vocal acrobatics but she still sounded great

Sly Tribute - the ads alone showed me that it was a train wreck waiting to happen. It was still great to see Sly, even in his condition. I must say, his mohawk was more rock and roll than all these new acts that claim to be rock artists, hell even hip hop. He still had attitude to be able to show up for a few minutes and then up and leave. I ain't mad at him. With a tribute like that, I'd say hi and bye too.

Overall a very lame Grammys. Prince please show up again next year. pray

Meh...ever since she distanced herself from American Idol and stopped acknowledging what the show has done for her, I lost respect for her.

Yeah, ordinarily boring as hell. I'm glad I didn't buy his CD cause I know it would be gathering dust.

What in the hell is wrong with Sly Stone? I think he was pissed about the microphones personally. Way to go grammy. The guy does his first thing almost 20 years,(Jesse Johnson?) and you fuck up his performance. Okay, maybe that's all he had in him. But c'mon turn his mic up!!!! He looked messed up. He looked like he had some digenerative neck disease.

it kinda seemed like his mic wasn't working, but maybe he's just too frail to sing audibly any more, I really hope that the latter isn't a case, but the guy didn't look so hot.

I thought paul doing helter Skelter was the highlight. i pretty much fastforwarded through most of the rest of it. The sly thing looked like a train wreck. The house band was alright(Joe perry got in a few good licks), but the vocalist were either horribile or you couldn't hear them. i'm glad i taped it instaed of sitting through that 3 hours of garbage

Green Day won it for a track off the album, but won last year for the album. I'm not even sure if it was released as a single (they don't have to be).
Can't figure U2 winning a damn thing for that album except for the Engineering. It's a wonderful sounding disc.

i sat thru the whole thing and my brain was reduced to the size of a pea.

my highlight: Bruce Springsteen. the most emotive performance. Great song, great album.

my worst moment: Madonna and Gorillaz. what a lame performance. i can't believe it's available for download for charity.

and the Sly performance....just as lame. backing tracks and everything.
What is up with these R&B "divas"? Blige, Ciara, etc? they just can not sing at all. it vexes me to no end.

where's Prince?

I only saw it up to Springsteen but I guess my highlight was the woman who sang with Maroon 5 bitch. What a beauty! PICTURES!

Performance-wise Paul McCartney. Although I thought his sound sucked.
