Which Era are you from ?

I just realized as being a Prince fan we all became fans from different era's. Some fans liked Prince from the dirty mind era or some fans didn't like Prince up until the batman era. If I had 2 choose, I would say, I'm most definetly a fan from the 1999/purple rain era.. I loved the whole era with The Time and Vanity 6/Appolonia 6, I really liked Wendy & Lisa when I was a child and I use 2 always think Wendy was Prince's girlfriend lol. Anyways I had stopped being a fan 4 a while, after Prince changed his band. I swear before I became a fan again, I didn't remember any of hits from the Sign O' the times album except 4 U got the look. I appreciate Prince from all era's, but overall I would have to say, I'm a victim of the purple era. What I loved the most was, the way he heavily use to the drum machines 2 make the linn sound. You don't hear that much on during the Sign O' the times/ Lovesexy decade.

Btw way I didn't became a fan again until the early 90's, when I was old enough 2 buy my own music. lol

I've been a big fan since the early 80's. I have to admit that I love most of his music over the years. It would be very hard for me to pick an era that I prefer as I love Dirty Mind, 1999, Parade, Lovesexy, SOTT and I also like his 90's stuff too and of course The Rainbow Children. There are some songs from each era that I'm not thrilled with, but for the most part, I'm a loyal fan and I dig almost everything he's ever recorded. I really love his sexy, nasty stuff too, that's for sure. I do miss that a little.

i would say i'm Purple Rain, but i think it all kicked in, in full force, at Batman. I took a tape of that on holiday and listened to it nonstop for two weeks

I've only been a fan for about four or five months. Given that I haven't heard his most recent stuff, I can't belong to his TRC era or any other.

I suppose Purple Rain (the song and then later the album) drew me in though

he was such a bad boy, that's what i dug about him, that and plus he was 2 over sexual 4 his own good, he didn't do it in a procative way though. He did in it his own specail way, which made it more appealing... I miss that prt of him 2.

nod His nastiness was what initially attracted me to him. I guess everyone has to change a little eh? Maybe that's part of what maturity is all about.

I starting feeling him with "Prince". But, i guess i would say i'm a DM era chick. Once "Purple Rain" came out and everyone got hip smile my interest began to fade a bit.

From the 1999 lp forward.
Purple Rain was awesome, but 1987 was the best.

I was born within months of his 1st album release "For You"
but I didn't become a fan until "Lovesexy" when I started
buying my own records.

As it turns out, I've been madly in love with anything that
was recorded from early 1985 until late 1987. The whole
"Parade/8/SignOTheTimes/16/CrystalBall/Black/DreamFactory"
era. That's the one that turns me out.

Being an old man, I have my original copy of the 45 RPM of "Soft and Wet". But I have to admit I only bought it because I thought it was a disco song.

I didn't become a huge fan until "1999".
