Purple Rain era, i was only 9 but my sister was a big fan and she took me to go see the movie, she's also playing the first five albums, 12inches etc. I liked Erotic City at 9, can u believe it? | |

Became interested in 1983 with 1999...became hooked in 1984 with Purple Rain...lost interest with the symbol album (1992?) then was hooked again in 1995 with The Gold Experience. I lost interest again a bit with NPS & Rave, but now I am back full-force after TRC, ONAL, & NEWS. | |

. Anyways I had stopped being a fan 4 a while, after Prince changed his band. I swear before I became a fan again, I didn't remember any of hits from the Sign O' the times album except 4 U got the look. I appreciate Prince from all era's, but overall I would have to say, I'm a victim of the purple era. What I loved the most was, the way he heavily use to the drum machines 2 make the linn sound. You don't hear that much on during the Sign O' the times/ Lovesexy decade.
Btw way I didn't became a fan again until the early 90's, when I was old enough 2 buy my own music. I became a Prince fan during Purple Rain, but without a doubt, my "era" is the Purple Rain-Lovesexy era. Those albums convinced me for a period of time that Prince could do no wrong. I also discovered all of the pre-PR LPs, which I appreciated more after seeing P's Lovesexy show. I have bought virtually everything ever since, except a lot of the NPG material from 97-present. But I consider the PR-L/S era to be the Golden Age of Prince music.
