What makes you think the Syracuse show isn't from the original master video tape? That was the quality of pro video with tube cameras straining with concert lighting at that time.

Yes, I'm looking forward to having my mind blown by the etching, and then marvel at it for years - first thing in the morning, right before bed. Can the Estate please issue the fortchcoming Crystall Ball re-release as an all-etching issue, spread over six, no, twelve sides on glorious purple vinyl?!

Now THIS is the kind of release I am looking forward to!!! I ordered the gold, black and clear versions of the vinyl. Plus the deluxe box and CD. Oh, and the 45. They sure know how to soak us collectors

I have enough money to buy the compact disc version, so I did But I'm glad that people are buying multiple, more expensive packages. The better these releases sell the more we will get of them in future

Being an archivist/collector, one is likely to be anal about uniformity as the nature of collecting encourages us to be anal about all aspects of our collection. We have to be to maintain an impressive collection. When we have a shelf(shelves) of releases going back decades, displayed in chronological order, we want the new release right there in it's proper spot, not on some other shelf because it doesn't fit.

That said, some of these deluxe sets are so sweet that I figure it's worth it.

Same problem here. Really looking forward to the CD, would also love to have the yinyl. But I don't own a blu-ray player. So is it really worth it to invest in another device I will probably never need again? (Although I probably will if the D&P Deluxe Set also comes with a Blu Ray )

Imports always end up costing a lot. A proper world wide release is what is needed, not a region specific one.
