You seem to really enjoy it... because nobody is forcing you to respond. And you have harassed plenty on this thread. Twenty years posting about someone you find to be medicocre musician -- nope, you are the one who needs help.

I think the question should be: is Prince overrated outside of the Prince fandom? Majority of people I come across won’t name anything beyond purple rain, and will look at you sideways if you say he was a gifted guitarist and one of the best rhythm guitarists that ever lived. Bittersweet as it is, it took his passing for the younger crowd to show intrigue, but majority of the people around my age weren’t really checking for him.

Nope! Best of luck, sweetie.

Just because somebody was not a pop star don't mean he ain't good or better than Prince.if you think that Prince was the best guitar player in the world u are seriously deluded and why you even discuss Prince the musician when it's obvious that u are not a musivian and have no clue what others are discussing here.I already told you take your masochistic ass somewhere else .and really this is the last time i talk to u u sad sad little fan boy.

The OP's favorite guitarist -- not that he contributes to his legacy in any meaningful way on appropriate jazz forums with fellow appreciators.

The OP posted video of Bill Connors -- seems very disappointed that Prince didn't take lessons from him.

No such thing as a best guitar player in the world. And thanks again for providing music for those times when one can't sleep. Zzzz... Over to you.

Prince is a good musician, no doubt, but he is far from the best...what makes him special is the whole package..(dancer,singer guitar-player). u just need to go to youtube/Facebook to hear/see whats lot of musicians are capable of...normal people..anders n many cases the play not just one instrument... And for those who think reading notes is not important , have no clue. Maybe they never played an instrument. Just for the simple fact, when u got a pool of 50 songs u want to play and u change them every now and then, reading notes is so helpful. A human cant remember all notes exactly. There comes a point, where people play not whats should have been played...
