it has to do a lot because if you don't play an instrumental and you discuss techniqual aspects of it of course it does.so can you bless us with a video or audio of your playing if you even play.

well maybe you think i'm luying but i actually did work with all the guys i mentioned, one of the fellow orgers who have an amazing collection of boots sent download links to Greg Boyer's personal email because he told me he would love to have those 21 nights in London shows.

So with who did you work? what are you credentials and may i see an example of your playing?

One of your buddies stole music from Prince? Like I said dude, run along to the Benson forum... post this same nonsense there, and let us know how it goes for you. Hope you enjoyed serving coffee to Sheila.

lets do a battle on instruments just for fan ok? lets pick up one backing track and you record you parts and i will record my guitar, bass and synths so lets see weho is the man and who is faking the funk. are you in?

i hope you are not affraid.i'm not that good smile

Well working as a tech definitely qualifies you to call Prince a below average musician whose buddy stole music from him.

Which you tube video link would you like me to send, more Bill Connors? Your choice. Have zero interest in your playing, but nice try.

i find that talk is cheap in the end. so let's see where we at on instruments.theoretical discussions are nothing like the real practice.so i don't regard myself high as a musician but something tells me that there is a big chance Moody don't play anything and if he does it's on some rudamentary level but you know what i'm ready to even get schooled by u on an instruments ok?

so you pick the backing track and you add your thing,i will add mine so let the music talk.

let our practical skills show who know anything about instruments and who is here only to provoke and insult.

do you accept the chalenge and let our fellow orges judge our playing.ok?

Prince is not bellow average musician.he is in my opinion the second best in popular music.

But he is not on the technical level of some people who dedicated their life to a certain instrument.

He knew theory, knew scales and was better versed in music than majority of pop musicians.

I made this thread because i read people saying that he wrote classical movements, that he went in music where no other musician ever been and stuff like that.

who told u i'm not interested? did you even read what i wrote? His ,fire determination and paSsion and his rhytmic sense is what puts him above most of guitar players who shread with no soul no substance

my favourite Prince guitar solos are Bambi Undertaker,Whole Lotta Love from indigo nights,Redhead Stepchild,Xogenius,Santana Medley 1995 Glam sLam live Stratus from Copenhagen 2011 aftershow.

i think Prince was a great guitar player in his delivery, expression and very good as a overall guitar player, but as a guitar player myself it would not be honest from me to say that Prince was as good as those maniacs who spend 10,12 hours a day on an instrument.

Stevie Wonder: Prince 'Took Music to a Whole Other Place'

Stevie Wonder: Prince 'To...ling Stone

Prince’s music was so picturesque that even I could see it. I could see his boss Mr. McGee, who thought Prince was never going to be shit. I could see Old Man Johnson’s farm. I could feel that “Purple Rain” too. Prince’s songs were that vivid, the images were that strong. I think I related to the way Prince saw things because we both grew up in the Midwest, where we met all kinds of people and had a great spectrum from which to learn. We both grew up hearing blues, rock & roll, jazz and gospel, and found the value in it all.

.

If Michael was the King of Pop, Prince should be the Emperor. Prince fought for his artistic freedom. He didn’t allow anyone or anything to get in his way. By following his own path, Prince took music to a whole other place, like the Beatles did. He wanted to change the way things were, like Marvin Gaye did. When you do that, you have to be very sure of yourself.

.

That spirit that drove him gave us an incredible reservoir of music. He loved funk, so he really needed to know how to make things funky. He loved jazz, so he needed to break down what made things truly swing. If Prince wanted to talk about love and sex, he got really into that – deep. And he made us see and feel it all with him. In fact, I’m trying to figure out which child of mine was born because of listening to Prince.

yes i wrote he is average as a soloist or bellow.ok i admit that he is not bellow average.but his technique on guitar or piano was not outstanding.it was average. what was not average is his delivery, his passion and him believing in what he does.that makes him more interesting than those who don't have those aspects of musicianship that are more in relation to who you are as a person than the pure technicality of playing an instrument.

i agree ,but that was when he was a kid. when he got his contract and started producing other acts, recording.he didn't have the time for that amount of practice.

only for craftig a full song alone in order to record sing and mix he had to spend at least,4,5,6 even more hours(he needed 4 hours for Kiss) ,what about business meetings? interviews, doing his hair? being at the rehearsals of The Time,Vanity 6 ,other projects,it's quite amazing how good he was on those 4 instruments considering how much stuff he had to do.

If he was not that busy he would have been better.

Do yourself a favor and go to a forum for a musician you actually like. Life is too short... And yes, Prince practised for hours and hours and hours each day, even when he was producing many bands. His sound checks even lasted for hours. You have all kinds of tips for how Prince could have been better. If only he was reading sheet music on his flights... Buddy Rich was one of the greatest jazz players and composers, and couldn't read a note - what tips do you have for his improvement? And who would you like Prince to be, Bill Connors? Why not just go ahead and listen to Bill if that is what you are looking for?

playing and practicing instruments is not the same. playing will keep you in

performing shape but your technique will not improve.

I don't think you need to tell me what to do,i've been on org for 20 years, since i was a kid,i c you joined recently.

if you still want to argue with me lets do it the way i suggested a music battle for fun. what are you affraid of? a guy with such a vaste knowledge must be a killer musician right?

so a friendly battle on instruments just for fun,are you in or not? ok if you are shy i will do the first step.i like lydian mode ,so you record first half of the track, and i will record on the second half

here is a track in d lydian : https://www.youtube.com/w...cgzKTVABb8

Funny thing is Moody is calling boots stolen property but he said he listen to Prince's long rehearsals ,so since Prince didn't release any rehearsals my guess is Moody was listening to a stolen property.

No doubt Greg Boyer was sending notes to the org to acquire Prince's stolen property. How does a professional tech justify collecting boots from his employer? Isn't there paperwork you needed to sign?

man you are referencing some bootlegs you listened and you talk about stolen property. lol

are you aware that you are one of the few on org who "don't listen or have Princes boolegs" ?

So what are you a nice person doing here amoung us thieves? why are you in such a bad company?

are you an undercover agent on a mission to bust Prince.org bootlegers.

so who needs to return the stolen property? just me or Greg Boyer also? Huh i sent it to Mike Philly as well,so is Mike included? what about the rest of the orgers who have "stolen property" do they need to return it as well? or just me? smile

Huh i sent it to Mike Philly as well,so is Mike included? what about the rest of the orgers who have "stolen property" do they need to return it as well? or just me? smile

You would have been the one signing legal documents to work as a professional tech - not me. And accounts of Prince's hours long soundchecks have been among the hundreds of hours of interviews on the dude.

I was one of the most annoying orgers making countless threads about how great Prince is on guitar.I thought those who don't share my view just don't get it.but things change and as i started paying more attention to some more proficient musicians i came to a realisation that Prince as a musician is way too overrated.i see people saying :imagine Prince and Herbie Hancock playing together or i see a topic here "the day Prince changed the world of electric guitar.Prince did push the envelope in the realm of pop music but every attempt he did outside of pop wss far from good.Prince's jazz projects are like kindergarden jazx compared to Mahavishnu Orchestra or Return To Forever.Prince is a good rhythm guitar player but as a soloist his playing is average or even bellow.his piano playing is overhyped and in reality i"ve seen him playing live piano parts that wete under rehearsed.I love Prince and his music but it's hard for me to pretend that he is amazing on guitar bass piano and drums when he is just average even to pop music standards. Im not necessarily disagreeing.

I think Prince was an awesome musician especially in terms of creativity - songwriting.

But I think its quite likely hehas been overrated.

I am interested to ask why he has been so overratted with even people such as Eric Clapton giving him high praise as a guitarist.
