Is this the same drum track he used for the early Wouldn’t You Love To Love Me? "That's when stars collide. When there's space for what u want, and ur heart is open wide."

Just heard it finally! Very cool track. Sounds like it could stand side-by-side with Sly's "If You Want Me To Stay" in a track sequence [Edited 9/11/20 17:19pm]

At 1:50, it reminds me of "Shortberry Strawcake."

Wow. Wow. This song is amazing. That guitar, that bass, that voice. There is a lyric that I don't like, but otherwise it's amazing. This would've been the most talked about song on For You if he put it on there. It would've been controversial. There may have been some reviews saying that it's a Bootsy copy, but it's far more than that.

Love this track. Amazingly crisp too.
I can see why it wouldn't fit on an early album but it would have been an amazing opener.

I wonder why it isn't titled "Neurotic Lover's Bedroom"? I don't think he explicitly states the "Baby's" part.

Cool. Nice way to test that drum computer. (Do we know what type it was?) The sound of the drum computer immediately brings back Sly around There's A Riot Going On, but much more sparsely with the other instruments, basically two guitars who do a very minimal groove, with Prince doing spoken word over it a la P-Funk (Wants To Get Funked Up). . At first I was thinking that the vocals were sped up, a first instance of the Camille voice. I think this simply needs to be slowed down a little, although I think we can just check what key it is in. (I've never known Prince to be into alternative tunings) . As it is, a nice, minimal funk groove. Not really a song. And the first instance of BDSM in Prince's lyrics that I know of. Paisley Park is in your heart - Love Is Here!

Btw I'm really impressed that this is stereo and hearing the background vocal in the left channel. Just goes to show you he always had this nasty side in him even when he was doing gorgeous but G rated jams like Baby and JALAWT.
