. I mentioned the version floating out there (that you linked to) as being Wendy. I mentioned explicitly I was talking about the snippet that's in the podcast. (as was pointed out to you also by others) Paisley Park is in your heart - Love Is Here!

After trying repeated listens of the Eggplant sample, and imagining Prince singing it in I am eventually staring to here a little bit Prince he might have better luck if he was drummin with his Dick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I realized that after I noticed the earlier posts about it. I did not know there was a "Prince only" version of Eggplant.

Right. As I stated above, I did not notice the "Prince only" version played during the Podcast. I had only heard the edited "Prince and Wendy" version, which makes more sense as a finished track, as it is a conversation between a guy and a girl about pretty-but-airheaded women.

Well now that we are all on the same page on Eggplant, let's regroup after we take another glance at the SDE tracklist and commit it to memory.

rap said: The quality of the footage from the New Year's Eve Concert looks substandard! Not really. It looks like exactly what it is: Prince recorded a show to document the final SOTT tour performance and his first time on stage with a hero of his. He certainly didn't have any intentions of releasing it.

. The way I heard it originally is that it wasn't graphic sex scenes, but simply naked people, like you see in many classical paintings. The story was that Prince did not have a reference to nudity outside of sex (which is how things are in the USA, unfortunately, there is a prudish culture there that unfortunately has influence worldwide, where other levels of prudishness also interact) and equated that to "his baby painting pictures of sex" . So it may not be a group of people copulating, but might be more like a classical painting when the picture is finally revealed. Paisley Park is in your heart - Love Is Here!

Really??? How is that so ridiculous?? It's far from just one lyric. She's literally singing backrounds with some primary vocals throughout the song with him, and the song is about the two of them making love during the "apocalypse" as he describes it in the song. * As soldiers draw swords of sorrow * Really not sure why it's so hard for folks to get the fact that Prince was engaged to, and living with the woman at the time he wrote the song. He refers to "my baby" throughout the entire song. Definitely not hard to get, oh Condescending one. In this instance of this song, I find it hard to buy. It’s not like she hasn’t erroneously taken credit for being the inspiration for a song in the past (and been corrected by Prince). Do you think because she performed on a song that means she was the inspiration for it? I do think she unquestionably inspired certain songs. But I don’t think this is one of them. Right. It's just too damn presumptuous when the man who wrote the songs didn't tell you that any of the songs were inspired by you, (except for maybe one) but you take it upon yourself to start naming off his whole damn catalog. Yea, you might be on the money about a few of them, but you're bound to get some of them wrong. The Beautiful Ones wasn't the only song that she had to be corrected about either. She used to say she inspired Strange Relationship too. Until that was a big NO. She needs to calm down and be a little less ambitious with the songs she's ticking off. It's not like Prince told her anything, and last time I checked, nobody could read the man's mind.

Well apparently the journalist wasn't interested in Prince's tea. Why would he ask again if Prince already already answered the question? I think Prince reacted gracefully, he did share that he didn't appreciate people claiming inspiration for his songs. . From the article: "And also, “The beautiful ones you always seem to lose,” Vanity had just quit the movie. To then speculate, “Well, he wrote that song about me”? Afterwards you go, “Who are you? Why do you think that you’re part of the script that way? And why would you go around saying stuff like that?” [Edited 9/4/20 9:42am] Right. What more did the journalists want? Prince literally and specifically told the man who the song was about IN FREAKING DETAILS two paragraphs up. The journalist was intentionally being insensitive trying to get Prince to insult Susannah, so Prince gracefully shut his ass down. It's not hard to understand what he did there if you have sense, since you can see his explanation about the scene and Vanity inspiring the song right above it, . [Edited 9/5/20 5:37am]

Pointless to compare. Each had their own unique traits. In terms of recording, I guess the band were more evident on the next album, Lovesexy. Just as brilliant, in my view, but for different reasons. When the LOVESEXY special edition podcast comes along, I'm sure you'll get your fill. [Edited 9/3/20 11:43am] [Edited 9/3/20 11:46am] Do we know that the SOTT / LS band appeared much on the recording of LS? It all sounds very programmed to me, and would fit P getting excited about all his new PP gear. There was that BTS video of Femi showing a typical recording session output - think it was the recording of LoveSexy title track. Can't see why you'd need a live band for that. The Femi tells.it, it was typical P burning the midnight oil and layering the track on his own. Dance On could be more collaborative (with Shelia E).

THe journalist was trying to get Prince to insult Susannah?? NOW who is the one trying to get into someone else's mind to create the narrative??!!! The journalist questioned him AGAIN, because, as typical, Prince was being VERY vague in his response about the inspiration for the ENTIRE song. He attributed ONE lyric to Vanity - her leaving the film. * Question: where did Prince state "no, the song had nothing to do with my feelings for Susannah Melvoin at that time"??? Show me where he actually answered the journalist's question directly. He didn't. Instead, he went on a deflective rant about the entire song being about "nothing carnal" and only a "spiritual" inspiration. Okay, sure, then that would take Vanity out of the mix too. * Prince did this ALL THE TIME when he did not want to divulge his personal feelings about his songs. Either HE was the one giving the information on HIS terms, or he would not talk about it. Classic Prince. Which brings us to his first P&M show January 2016, where he verbally addressed how he wrote TBO to "cop" or get a girl. HIS terms. He was the one deciding what he was going to divulge to his fans without a reporter directing the conversation. Pretty easy to figure that out.

. Because it was video instead of film? . This failure has lead to many disasters, many moments that will not be showed in their finest glory. . . . .

Prince, January 21, 2016, just before he beings to play TBO: * "Sometimes singers have the courage to tell you. And if they are male don't let them lie to you. We ALL write songs to "cop" girls." * Yep. He literally just described the accounts all along of the main inspiration for this song. But okay, you go ahead and believe it was him channeling the "spirits over the rainbow"
