So 8 disks - 2 of which will be the original album so 6 disks remaining. I am guessing at least 3 of those will be the total summation of Dream Factory/CB/Camille tracks so people can mix and match and make each of those albums as opposed to including each album seperate to reduce redundancy. Then maybe a live show and another disk of misc. tracks? Total speculation on my part of course, just trying to think of the most realistic best guess

Going off of 1999 Deluxe. I'm guessing.

Disc 1 & 2: Sign O' The Times Remastered

Disc 3: B-sides, extended mixes and remixes

Disc 4 & 5: From The Vault

After that, it's a crapshoot. I'm leaning towards

Disc 6: Camille (billed as a lost album in the PR for this release)

Disc 7 & 8: New Morning Aftershow from 15 June 1987 (a.m.) - Madhouse & Prince set

DVD: December 31 1987 show with Miles Davis. Audio only until the video starts. So the full performance for the first time.

New Morning Aftershow from 15 June 1987 (a.m.) - that would be a dream come true

Shame really, they should release it as a Blu-ray and offer options to switch between the various album configurations, e.g. Camille, Dream Factory, Crystal Ball,...

.

And these releases should really come with a documentary à la Classic Albums.

THAT is an absolutely brilliant idea!

Given how much longer SOTT was in development for I'm guessing there'll be 3 discs of vault stuff...

CD 1&2 - The Remastered Album (and about time!)

CD 3 - Edits, B-sides, mixes etc

CD 4, 5 & 6 - Tha Vault

CD 7 & 8 - Something live. I wonder it there will be enough space to include a full concert in adddition to the First Avenue rehearsal show.

It's certainly possible but I was trying to think like Warner. They're going to hold back a bit but what I posted on paper all has selling points that will resonate.

You have Prince's most critically acclaimed album, all the edits, 2 full discs of unreleased vault material, a lost album of Prince playing with his gender bender persona (blah with that description but that is how Howe will push it), a legendary aftershow that's never been available in soundboard and a live show with Miles Davis available in full for the first time.

Camille isn't lost, all of the tracks except one have been released. (I really don't understand why they don't release Camille for RSD.)

.

And they're not gonna release an aftershow, they're gonna release a regular show. On boot we have a combination of an incomplete Paris SBD recording combined with one track from the encore of a Dutch show SBD recording, so we know at least those two exist.

.

NYE with Miles Davis? Possible, but if it is an incomplete video they might be hesitant.

Most of SMiLE was released on Smiley Smiley and various Beach Boys projects but that didn't stop the record company and music press from billing it as a lost album.

And why not an aftershow? The DVD is (probably) going to be showing off a regular show. Having something like the New Morning show would showcase his jazzy side with Madhouse and some of the best of that era on the Prince side. While also being something that the hardcores know but don't have in the highest quality possible.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing about them being hesitant but a clip of it appeared in that Miles Davis documentary and they probably have a full soundboard recording. So they can remaster the audio and piece together what they have. Even if it's just a black screen for the first half of the show until they have video footage. lol

I think another Purple Rain issue or a totally inclusive one would be in 2024 the 40th anniversary, would be good timing maybe you can get all the protege stuff on their and actually releasing some of their records all during that year. I think with Parade and Around the World reissues i doubt we will see them, I think SOTT makes total sense its got so much out there in forms and variations so it almost seems a no brainer to go with it at this point. It would be interesting though to see what will happen with 90's work, since there is stuff unreleased, would TGE get a reissue with different versions or even COME which seems to be more respected now than it was. Diamonds and Pearls and Love Symbol i dont know what to do there, probably going to get some kind of vinyl issues with those i dont see a huge demand to reissue those. But i know whatever the estate does we will have issues so let it roll

Thinking about it, a disc of single/extended/b-side cuts shouldn't be hard to figure out.

Sign o the Times (edit) 3:44

La, La, La, Hee, Hee, Hee (edit) 3:23

La, La, La, Hee, Hee, Hee (Highly Explosive) 10:40

If I Was Your Girlfriend (edit) 3:47

Shockadelica (edit) 3:31

Shockadelica 6:20

U Got the Look (Long Look) 6:45

I Could Never Take The Place of Your Man (edit) 3:41

Housequake (edit) 3:20

Hot Thing (edit) 3:40

Hot Thing (Extended Remix) 8:32

Hot Thing (Dub Version) 6:53

Adore (edit) 4:42

That's a full CD right there. If there's anything else, it'll have to be on another disc.

8 CD's could mean they did a quite good effort to include all relevant materials.

DVD is hopefully from film, not from video.

But in case from film it could have been a BluRay.

I'm pretty sure most, if not all shows were recorded at the time. Quality may vary because it's unclear if we have multitracks for each or just a rough stereo mix made on the spot, but it's there in the vault. I'm still pretty certain that the 1999 video show's audio could have been provided in much better quality, if not in a quality similar to the audio show, if the estate had bothered.

Sign is a return to form. A primarily solo album with minor contributions. The outtakes should start late 86 after he disbanded the revolution and stop in 87. The dream factory music is where some sign songs start but the music doesn’t fit. It’s too poppy

WBR still is pimping the Syracuse show, while we know that there are plenty of soundboard recordings of other shows. One of the official videos is filmed at another PR show, and surely they didn't just film that one song. Yet all we get is Syracuse Syracuse Syracuse, despite this being bootlegged ad nauseam.
