The caller was Katt Williams Listen2Prince !!
U can listen to a different Prince project every week for a year! Sometimes U might have to double (or triple) up on related albums to make it fit, tho. https://listen2prince.blogspot.com/

The Prince Channel needs more Prince today; I do not want several Michael Jackson/5 songs nor music from others. Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

I’ve been listening for the last two hours and the only “non-Prince” thing they played was The Screams of Passion. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I bet laytonian hit the PANDORA station instead by mistake. It's channel 30 on SIRIUSXM or you can search PRINCE on the APP or website.

That is EXACTLY why I never listen to the Prince channel on Pandora. If I wanted Michael Jackson, I’d listen to the Michael Jackson channel. 😂 We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

The live-segment with Tamár is from 25 February 2006 @ Orpheum Theatre, MPLS, right? So obviously the radio show demo cannot be recorded in 2005 as announced by Sirius...

I listened for about 2 hours last night, and surprised myself by liking even the non-Prince portions they played. It would be nice if we could get an advance playlist of what is coming up and when, but hey, I'll take this. Yeah, I didn't find out until later on that the caller was Katt. How crazy. Is it going to have new music every evening, or do we know? Good morning children...take a look out your window, the world is falling...

Yeah! I was thinking the same thing as well! But also was doubting "2005" because of the 3121 trax played in the segment, unless they were ready before the end of 2005. The album came out on March 21st, 2006, so they may have been ready.
I hope that they re-broadcast 3121 RADIO as I have many friends that missed it last night.
Also, I'm starting 2 find that there's too much repetition of hits on the regular Prince Channel playlist. Perhaps if they limited themselves 2 no more than 3 Top-50 singles per hour they'd have 2 play more non-singles. "purplelectricity whenever our bodies touch"

Yeah, I noticed that, too. That is definitely the February 2006 Támar show (I was there). They got their date wrong. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Although Katt never expressed his admiration in his sets or wrote anything special about Prince, I always felt that there was some connections. His pimp gimmick aside, he too had that rude boy aura. Maybe it was the hair

I love the idea of this thing, but after listening for a few days, the channel seems to have Clear Channel-itis. It's the same rotation of songs all day, some of them multiple times a day, with a few odball choices thrown in. I think whoever is deciding on the playlists could be doing a better job. I just stumbled upon a Prince playlist on Soundcloud that smokes anything on the official Prince channel. "That's when stars collide. Katt(whom shared a hairdresser with Prince{r.i.p.}) was orginally billed to open 4 Prince(r.i.p.) @ 3121Vegas. He was advertised on the billboards in the Rio hotel one of the several times I attended Prince(r.i.p.) residency there. But the deal fell through. So it was a secret "friendship" they had together. "That mountain top situation is not really what it's all cracked up 2 B when was doing the Purple Rain tour had a lot of people who knew 'll never c again @ the concerts.just screamin n places they thought they was suppose 2 scream."

Cool! Same hairdresser, huh? It's that luxurious style.

Somebody either in Questlove supreme or one of these podcasts made an anecdote that Kitt was kicked out of a Prince party once, I don’t remember the details, so I was pleasantly surprised to read about his (Kitt) involvement in this project. Talented comedian and yes troubled, but I still hope he will get a big break.

Playing "Stand Back" I would not say he WROTE it. But I do like the song. "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!"

agree but there are a lot of music fans tuning in to the Prince Channel that do not know he had a hand in helping that song along. My wife gets tired of hearing me say "Prince wrote that song" or "that song was recorded at Paisley park" when songs are played on the radio or Siriusxm lol
