But these fans only seem to care about the releases being as complete as possible and representative of Prince.

It's important that fans support this release. If it doesn't sell well, there's a chance that we won't get those other 'Super Deluxe Editions' that we want so bad.Buy a copy of this set, folks! Buy another copy to give as a Christmas gift!

When speaking of the estate and what they will put out, it should be noted that the box it was shipped in came from Warner Music Group. They had some say so in what we have. But I do agree that if people want more, they need to step up and do more than just talk, they need to purchase too. Welcome to "the org", Mumio…they can have you, but I'll have your love in the end

I think the 1999 Deluxe Edition is excellent and should be supported. We get two discs of vault tracks, the remastered album,a disc of single edits and promo versions,a live disc, and even a DVD of a live show from that era.Seriously, what is there to complain about?! This set is fantastic!!

Those fans remind me of the current republican party. Fucking senseless. As if the releases are hanging on the nickle n dime of those protesting the merits of Princes pubes on the toilet seat. Those fans u speak of are not going to make or break any decision of any future remasters being released or not. Not saying that the estate etc are not considering some ideas or criticisms they read, but to hold hostage their purchasing because of a reverb, brick house , I mean brickwall, a non-inclusion of a certain song, is dumbassery at its finest. AKA akin to a child holding ones breath till they get their way lmao. As if they simply released 1999 with only to extra songs etc.

They can stay wherever they hang out now and share tapes among themselves without a need for these releases anyway.

We owe the estate nothing and, if they want me to give them my money, they need to release products I want. That's Capitalism 101. Meanwhile I'll continue listening to 1999 Deluxe on the free tier of Spotify and the Estate can enjoy the $0.000000005 of ad revenue they get from every listen [Edited 12/10/19 13:56pm]

Honestly, yes. I bought from 3rdEyeTunes. I bought AoA/PE. I had a Tidal subscription for H&R. [Edited 12/10/19 14:05pm]

I was under the impression that he released what he wanted and thought was right and not simpley what some fans demanded (technically specking here not every nook n cranny so please dont start no crazines). Because you enjoyed some of his output or took part in some of his projects and ideas doesnt mean he didnt do it his way and not at the behest of fandom grinding their gears hard enough to get those things. What did they do wrong with the 1999 Super Deluxe Edition? Why don't you want to buy it?
to those fans complaining about the non-inclusion of "those two songs"....it's not as if those songs are hard to find elsewhere if you want them, you can easily obtain them.

homesquid said: 1999 Deluxe is the third release from the estate. I can understand that some weren't thrilled with the first two but this one of his biggest albums and had four discs worth of unreleased material...and it couln't sell 15k in the first week? It’s 60 odd quid. I have the album on vinyl and cassette already, there’s on disc of bullshit - so had there been a choice to buy just the vault, live cd and DVD trust me I woulda. I’ll stream (got another free thing) til it is a reasonable price. Funnily I would gladly pay £60 for one disc of say black is the new, welcome to America, hitnrun 3 or the second 3rdeye. New stuff. Now it's "We have to support the Estate and WB no matter what stupid decision they make or else they'll close the vault forever." The answer to that is "No, we don't." If they want to drown songs in reverb or hold back classic tracks because of crude lyrical content while catering to the woke social justice crowd with other tracks or piss on Prince's legacy on a large scale, they can. We, as consumers, can also tell them to fuck off. The Estate and WB can't afford to close the vault but I can close my wallet very easily. [Edited 12/10/19 14:32pm]

I've ripped my vinyl copy of the 1999 Super Deluxe Edition to FLACs and have been listening mostly to that...
Today was the first chance I had, with the house to myself, to blast the vinyl through my 'proper' stereo and 'proper' speakers.... OH MY GOD!!!!
It sounds SENSATIONAL. Hearing these tracks, so long hidden or available only in lesser sound, finally released in proper quality and with decent curation - was absolutely incredible.
The Super Deluxe was a little pricey on vinyl, but so the hell what? Listening today, I couldn't care less about that... it's an absolutely STONKINGLY good release!
I see no reasons for complaining AT ALL.
Yeah, I railed against Extra Loveable and Lust U Always not being on there, but actually now, I kind of like that they're not, that they still remain part of the 'secret' world of Prince (plus they're on my bonus discs of Vault material in my digital version of this deluxe edition )
Those complaning about the 'crap' disc of singles and edits need to understand that they're an essential part of the document.... it would be ridiculous not to release them in this set.
Anyway, I for one think the Estate and Warners have done a BRILLIANT job with 1999 and it makes me excited for what comes next.
Aside from the audio, the vinyl set itself is a thing of absolute beauty and attention to detail.
All the discs SOUND fantastic - NO BRICKWALLING HERE - and they are presented in high quality sleeves with poly lined inners, and additional inner picture sleeves. The box is beautifully made.
I'm enjoying the hell out of it and can't quite believe we've actually gotten something this good.

I remember the MJ's Ultimate Collection released in 2004. . For 45 € you had 4CD of highly demanded music including the J5 hits ( so that was a venture between Universal and Sony) and 14 unreleased songs + rarities + one true live of dvd quality that is watchable. . And there was a real huge booklet of 64 pages (128 pages of a normal booklet) . . So 20 bucks more for one CD of edits/bsides, a booklet with unreadable lyrics written, and a DVD that is purely a VHS,this is clearly too much to ask for 1999 deluxe for most fans. .

His fanbase will be listening to his music for a long long time...15k sold or 15 million sold, we're not going anywhere ! Keep in mind most of us already have the 1999 CD and vinyl and the b-sides, etc. I'm waiting to get the $70 Super Deluxe version after the holidays.
