Does anyone know who is actually behind the ridiculous "Prince Defenders" group?? * I would bet none of them personally knew Prince.

We don't know that... 1 of them had to have known Jesse in order to have a convo and get a recording of him.

That is just an assumption. Don't insinuate when you got no solid facts to back that up.

So it's also an assumption that none of the defenders knew Prince then, correct?

How else would somebody get a recording of him, if they didn't have a convo with him?

of course you don't but knowing and gaining someones trust always helps, that's what crooked journalists do all the time.

You think? That would be pretty stupid to have that type of convo with someone about Prince that you didn't even know.... Unless he could be just telling everyone what an ass Prince is. ... or how he isn't doing the Celebration because he doesn't want to be under P's banner.

depends, I have stated i wrote emails to mark cardenas and he had not problems saying negative things about Prince and I actually saw him playing (grudgingly) Purple Rain on the eve of the day Prince died and he was none too happy about it. I didn't talk to him that night but I believe he could have cared less and probably would have had nothing positive to say about Prince. those old scars, some people carry that shit forever.

The "defenders" said on Twitter that they didn't record it. Not that their word counts for sh*t or anything.

Sad little people who spend an awful lot of time alone behind computer screens. Just more of the same types who bum rushed the show to feed on the controversy, drama, grief & BS that has took place in purple spots since the man died.

here is the documentary that The Time released with their 2011 album 'Condensate'.
Maybe it will help those who are not up to scratch on the history, although considering its an over 3 decades history, it only really scratches the surface.

Excellent example of the fact that brothers (& sisters) are allowed to talk sh*t about each other whilst STILL remaining brothers.

It would behoove those who are in desperate need of doing some homework before running their gums to watch that, although you are absolutely correct re it being a 3 decades+ history that a documentary can only scratch the surface of.

Morris said Bobby couldn't eff with him (on the drums) on his best day!!! Oooooh!! Throw him away too!! Lmao

Exactly. And it's peculiar how that works. Some people can learn to forgive someone who has done some heinous shit to them(or to their loved ones). Shit like rape, murder, molestation etc. Yet some other people cannot(or will not) forgive someone for doing(or saying) something that seems fairly insignificant(in the big picture). It will be like every time the persons(the offender) name is mentioned, the unforgiving person has negative shit to say(like i do with trump, but his BS is not insignificant, so fuk him ! wink ).

My personal experience is that the best thing a person can do for their well being is to forgive someone who has hurt, angered or disappointed them(even though its hella hard, and most times i fail at it). Not for the other person, but for the individual. Resentments really fu*k people up. Indifference( can't really think of a better word)is cool too. But how many people can be truly indifferent towards someone who has hurt them(financially, physically, emotionally etc)? I know i can't. I might say i do, but the deeper feeling is usually resentment.

Anyway, Prince is dead. And it's about time that the people who were in his inner circle, and who need to heal. Do so. That's if they ever gave a fuck about him.

sure, i was angry at a lot of people for a long time, i never actually forgave them, i just don't really think of them much anymore, and the one i do, i just see our issues as so petty now. I might ad that envy and jealousy can fuck musician's minds up to the point where they just don't care if the object of their derision dies. Jerry Lee Lewis had some negative shit to say about Elvis after he died, something like "i don't care, just another one out of the way". musicians like jesse and Cardenas oftentimes have to wonder "why Prince and not me, I'm better" which is what they think I'm sure and that can drive a man crazy. Like Ali's nemesis, joe frazier who carried his animus to the grave, the "losers" or the ones not quite as successful will hold on to that shit.

All
Good thoughts and very true. Brings to mind Prince's more recent song called Indifference, about a past relationship. . Seems he was also trying to forgive the hurt as well. Never easy.

Only about a couple dozen people on Jesse's level who can really judge....and of that list, you can probably reduce that to Andre, Morris and a few others. Jesse wasn't just a band member, he was a formative collaborator.

Musicians gossip, they bitch and moan backstage, sometimes with a drink in their hands, sometimes it's just a catty mood or who else is in the room with them inspiring it, or who they're trying to impress. The context is who else was in that room, and it wasn't the us, the fans. He didn't do this on a podcast. It doesn't mean they don't feel emotional attachment or respect them in other ways, or aren't fans deep down. It's complicated.

Can you imagine the unresolved and complex emotions? Abruptly losing someone you were creatively connected to hurts, but when you already had baggage.. it doesn't make all the other career frustrations go away.

Hate to say it, doing the celebration shows are going to be a struggle for anyone who was that removed from Prince, hadn't had contact with him, and didn't want to be in his shadow. Part of them wants to do it, and part of them will be stuck on wanting to reclaim their music and not be part of their deceased ex friends tribute act. Jesse going isn't going to be the same as Liv going, and Liv going isn't going to be the same as Sheila going.

So as fans we just need to back off and stop pretending we know anything. We don't.

Well it would seem that someone he trusted "threw him under the bus", as they say. He or she certainly deserves to be "outed" for the poor choice they made. The information will probably come out. It usually does.

I don't care if I find out who recorded him, it doesn't matter. He'd spoken his feelings about Prince before and he is entitled to them. I am not going to the Celebration this year, but I do have a problem with him being there after what he said about the event itself. Was it really sour grapes because he hadn't been invited previously? That was really all that ticked me off because if you aren't going to "celebrate" everything Prince then why are you there (rhetorical question by the way)?
