i'm listening to some of his music now because of this thread, he was talented.

also, i wonder when the hate really set in, susan rogers said that he bought prince's old equipement didn't she? they must have had some sort of friendly relations up to a point. it sounded like they were still in touch up to the time Jesse was ready to do his first album, he obviously used the linn drum machine on his album, the album was strong. and i'd say most people here would say he's a better guitarist than Prince, I think he very well may have been. Different styles but his style has a more fluid, loose sound to me.

Except when you have someone like Eric Clapton - when asked what it is like to be the best guitarist out there, and his response is, "I don't know, ask Prince".....I'd say that solidifies Prince as more than just a "singer who played". Also, keep in mind Prince was pretty phenomenal on piano, bass and drums as well. I imagine his guitar playing would have been beyond the best had that been all he played.
