What a great story and thread! And you’ve really done your research. I hope it’s authentic. Thanks for sharing and please keep us posted either way...i would love to know the outcome. |

So Suzy, did you get to keep the shirt, or what? If not, surely you could keep at least one thread off of it. (Done right, the owner would never miss it.) I truly hope you still have it- someday you need to send us all a pic of how you are going to display it. Don't ever let it go......

I did end up messaging Stacia Lang, but she never responded. The same for Helen Hiatt.
So all I could do is study the shirt and that video. I also saw a few other examples of Prince wearing the same style of shirt in that era. Like this one here:
I am convinced it's his shirt and based on the exact polka dot pattern as the video shirt, I'm sure it's the exact same shirt. My associate had it hanging on a wire hanger with a plastic dry cleaning bag over it. I bought acid free tissue paper and an acid free clothing storage box. After taking a few more pictures and just hugging the shirt for a few minutes, I carefully packaged it up, along with all my notes on my research and accompanying photos.
I still have it too. I texted him all my findings on 9/11 and haven't heard back. I'm hoping he forgets about it. He just might too, considering he acquired this shirt in 2010 and is just now telling me about it! I've known him for nearly 30 years! |

Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Suzy,
i think you knew that's the real shirt. Cool find and thanks for sharing. It look 100 legit, and a perfect match. Did the owner have the cufflinks, that would be a nice addition.
I have the heart mirror wristband from the same video. Prince wears it half way through.
