I like Love Sign but would be a bit out of place on Come IMO . Empty Room would have been cool on C&D. I'm still stunned by Pvault's info that it was recorded in 85 and that recording was used for the 94 video version. It always had that 94/95 NPG sound to me. I guess after seeing the video on the big screen before the Gold tour shows it's locked in that era

Agreed. It could have fit on TGE thouigh, particularly in its original, 1994 form. It was sort of a hit in France in the summer on 1994, no single of course but lots of airplay for the song and video. In a parallel world where TGE would have been released in August 1994, it would have made sense to add it as it, and TMBGITW, were popular songs. But apparently Prince never considered any such thing, it was definitely a 1-800 New Funk exclusive. I think he would have had a hit with it if WB didn't block it. . I remember it got a glowing review in the Smash Hits magazine and the video was shown on a morning tv show. Also, the fact it was a duet with Marvin Gaye's daughter was a talking point

It has aged well but with a little editing it would have been better. For example "Come" is too long and the sucking noises are cringeworthy. "Solo" should have hit the editing room floor. "Strays Of The World" is better.

Your configuration of Choas & Disorder is almost exactly the same as mine. Really works well doesn't it. Only difference is I swap Da Bang (to a b-side) with The Ride. Your configuration for Come is similar too. Just woken up so too tired to remember exact config I have but I know I don't include Lovesign but do include Interactive. Having What's My Name and Strays of the World makes Come a more complete album. Love the Come album but it could have been even better. Personally could live without the segues. [Edited 7/1/18 1:10am] 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! Gr8 album indeed. His best 90s output, imo. That album title alone— double entendre— I am shook! "I want to be the only one you come for...."

That's Mayte singing the word, "Come," right? Sounds like her. "That's when stars collide. When there's space for what u want, and ur heart is open wide."

One of the first songs on that album that clicked with me, it's quite basic overall but its musically... nimble! I like the big turn around at the end as well. [Edited 7/2/18 8:55am]

I can't appreciate Come alone (recorded laughs). The Colors R brighter, the Bond is much tighter

Yea that’s her from TBE special, and I suppose it could be her on Come, but it kinda has that thin, whiny (no shade), Mayte-esque tone quality to me. [Edited 7/3/18 13:01pm] "That's when stars collide. When there's space for what u want, and ur heart is open wide."

Just had a listen; the ‘electronic’ version with Nona whispering at the beginning is from The Beautiful Experience movie. . The 10,000 Wallpaper version is similar but not so electronic . The other version similar to the album version I’ve got labelled as ‘Straight Remix.’ Don’t know if that’s its official title or just fan made. If it is fan made in any way don’t tell databank

So, nobody likes "Solo"??? I love that song. I think it is extremely personal to him based on th story of how it came to be recorded, and the lyric, "I'm so low, solo, my name is no one" to me indicates his decision to change his name to the symbol. I also like "Orgasm", because I think it was written based on a specific event for him, given that the credit for the female lyric - even though it was originally Vanity - is "she knows". It is intense, but very personal. I think the entire album is extremely personal, and also represents a very dark period for him. I like all of it.
