There is a huge business transaction which has been pending because SNJ oppose the deal.
There is a hearing Thursday on the opposition.
Affidavits were filed by Troy Carter, Entertainment Advisor to the Estate; Jason Boyarski, Entertainment Attorney specializing in distribution and sale of master recordings; and David Dunn, Managing Partner of Shot Tower Capital, an investment banking firm.
This is why we are not getting new music. SNJ attempts to block every entertainment deal.

It's an apples-to-oranges comparison though because David Bowie (a) had a wife of 23+ years, Iman (the former supermodel and businesswoman), (b) 2 living children, and (c) a will when he died, while Prince had none of these situations (Source: https://www.cnn.com/2016/...dex.html). Bowie left 50% of his assets to Iman; 25% to he and Iman's daughter, Lexi (that she can access when she turns 25); and 25% to his son Duncan, whom he had with his first wife. He also left about $2 million for his longtime personal assistant, Corinne "Coco" Schwab.
[Edited 4/15/18 17:00pm]
And that's why there is being music and box sets being released from Bowie's estate... While us Prince fans have had no new material released since his death except a cd from John Nelson.
Prince could have made this real simple with a Will, 50% or 75% of his assests to Tyka, the remainder divided equally between the half siblings or give it to charity or whomever!
Question- why do you think he would want Tyka (they when years with out contact) or anyone else to have the lion’s share? [Edited 4/18/18 10:46am]No More Haters on the Internet. |

IIRC Prince spoke with Bowie about "Bowie Bonds," perhaps wanting to do the same thing with his own catalogue. I think Bowie came from the Mick Jagger School of Rock Star Economics - over time, he learned how to make and keep money. Bowie, like Mick, had advisors he trusted long term. Prince never had anyone looking after him for decades - he either never found anyone, or it was simply his way to handle things. |

From my understanding the Family is sepearte from the Estate.
They will not make a single dime off of any releases.
The problem is they want control over the music and monies from music and that's not happening. |

The Judge has not approved this business transaction. It is scheduled for a hearing on the SNJ opposition Thursday morning.
Comerica is also trying to enter into a settlement agreement with someone due copyright infringement. SNJ are opposing this settlement agreement along with the business transaction. The hearing on the opposition to the settlement agreement is also scheduled for hearing tomorrow morning. |

Who said?
As stated many times before there is an outstanding tax bill that has to be paid before any money is distributed to the heirs. They cant have control over the music until the taxes have been paid.

Hi, I wanted to point out that in this particular major entertainment deal, all six of the heirs are united in opposing it- - the title of the document is mislabled- it says it's just SNJ but the actual document shows all 6 heirs. so really must not look good to any of them, and is a rare moment of unity between the heirs.
http://www.mncourts.gov/mncourtsgov/media/High-Profile-Cases/10-PR-16-46/SNJ-Memorandum-in-Opposition-to-Proposed-Entertainment.pdf
I see too today the judge has ordered coamerica to provide the heirs and the court with more information about the deal:
"By May 1, 2018, Comerica shall provide t0 the heirs and the Court a projected cash flow analysis including pending or anticipated deals, revenue streams, all related expenses, and payment of anticipated estate taxes. The Court’s hope is that this will give the Court and heirs more information regarding the need for additional revenue sources and the sustainability 0f expenses. "

It may say that but Alfred, Tyka, and Omarr have not filed objections to the deal. Only SNJ. |

I know we complain a lot about what’s going on with the estate but I have to give major props to those who planned and executed the concert last night. It was an amazing show. I contrast the associates performing at this concert to those sniping on the sidelines on social media. I can only imagine the long hours that went into rehearsing for this show. And they pulled it off without one glitch. Whatever Prince might have though about the idea no doubt he would have been proud of the musicianship on stage. This wasn’t half assed, this wasn’t something thrown together just to make a quick buck. And the focus was where it should be, on the music, and not all the other BS. Paisley Park is in your heart

Giving it more thought I'm figuring those who can are doing what they can to shift the impact. I'm just not down for anymore hashtag armchair rage. Either take the bull by the horns,by stepping up and adding context or answers or hush it and do your thing without stirring up stuff in the fanbase. |

I saw the entire concert via live feed and from my perspective it looked great. Aside from being personally pleased with it, my impression was that people there were having a great time and enjoyed themselves immensely. Glad to hear it was great from your perspective too.

I cant find that the other siblings objected unless I missed it lwhen ooking through the pleadings. The only ones that filed objections to the business transaction was SNJ. However, they had a hearing last Thursday and the other 3 could have objected orally. |
