Stop equating the dispicable phenomena of bulling to basic criticism here on a prince website. Please get some perspective yall.

I have to say that with his death it has brought aboard a large amount of people now who are basically used to soemthing very different in the world

Calling somebody pizza-face is bullying. Insulting somebody's looks is not basic criticism anyway you look at it.

Well she posted a public piture of her picking Prince's nose. She wasnt posting a pic of her holding a loved one who was dyinmg or anything like that.

I guess people feel fiercely protective of Prince especially now that he has passed; I can understand that. If the woman in the photo did deliberately pose like then it is extremely disrespectful I agree.

Hi rogifan. With respect, I think that this constant admonishment of people visiting PP is a little excessive. I agree, it’s an unfortunate photograph and personally I wouldn’t have posted it, but to me the “rolleyes” at the end suggests that it wasn’t intentional, rather like an acknowledgement of her own haplessness - as though she is saying: “One of the few opportunities to take a photo, and look what happens.”. We don’t know the circumstances under which the photograph was taken, whether they only had the opportunity to take one by each image, were quickly shuffled along and so on. We can question the wisdom of posting it online, but who is going to go to the expense of travelling to Chanhassen and pay admittance to PP and then deliberately ridicule Prince? The idea that the second image was manufactured to look as though he was “looking down her shirt” strikes me as absurd. Of course, I could be wrong.

I agree that the way in which some conduct themselves is tacky, but equally I don’t think that PP should be treated like a mausoleum. Yes, he was living there in the end, but first and foremost it was a professional creative complex, a vibrant place. I’d like the opportunity to visit at some point, but above all I'd like to see PP become a functioning studio again, a place where artists can continue to create original work. That would be the greatest testament to Prince in my view.

Constant admonishment? I've called out two photos from Instagram. And I won't apologize for thinking people should be respectful while being guests at Prince's house.

I'm sorry those photos didn't happen by accident. And if they did they would never have found their way to Instagram. Again I think it's simple; show some respect when you're in another persons home.

Yes, I don't get it either. Why spend that amount of money to see PP which is Prince's home and then do something like this? Or jump up on his piano? Or show your 'Symbol' tatoos in an unflattering way? This was P's home, people! Show some damn decorum already!! When I am there in May if someone does something like this I am going to go off on them......

I don't get it at all. I like checking Instagram for photos tagged with PP location. Most of them are respectful and it's just cool to see so many different people posing for photos with him. But every now and then I come across crap like this. I don't know if these people think they're being funny? They're not.

IMHO calling a girl "pizza face" is certainly as disrespectful as possibly having light fun with a picture. You'd think Prince never put up bunny ears behind someone or teased or made fun of anyone - ever.

Prince has died, but he is not some deity. Jokes can be made in Prince's "house" just like anyone else's. She might have just been having some good-natured fun. Tranquilo, por favor.

A person can make a Prince joke and still love him dearly.

Yes, sorry rogifan – that wasn’t directed at you specifically. I’ve seen a few irate threads attacking vistors for flashing their Prince tattoos, laying across his piano and so on. I find it a bit distasteful, but as I said, Paisley Park shouldn’t become a mausoleum... grim-faced fans solemnly shuffling through icy hallways in silence, divesting the place of any warmth or life that it once had. I know where you are coming from, but I honestly think that this case is completely innocent and accidental. Going forward maybe we shouldn’t look at it as “Prince’s house” at all, but rather what in reality it always was: a place of productivity and creativity. Perhaps start renting access to the studios again or better still, use it as a place where children and young people can learn about music production. Worrying about these minor infringements just strikes me as pointless. In any case, I meant no offence.

Thank you!!!!! This business of posting "information" which is seemingly only going to rile people up and make others angry is just ridiculous. And Rogifan, if my guess is right, you also posted this on a Prince Facebook group with the same intent and you've also done it there before too. Give it a rest, will you?! I understand YOU don't like it, but why do you need to make it everyone else's business and why do you need to make others upset?? Are you one of those who can't stop sharing, especially when it's bad or unpleasant news?

The thing is that the people posting these so-called "selfies" aren't considering other people at all--whether it involves an iconic music artist or friends/family. It's all about trying to be perceived as clever and funny in the moment with the focus on the "self." They don't even pause to think of how foolish they might be perceived in the wonderful world of social media...

I'm not addressing whether the person is right or wrong. What's wrong is posting things like this specifically to anger people and there is no way in hell I'll believe that wasn't the intent. We've already seen similar here so the outcome is known. That's why it's being labeled stirthepot

I saw your post on Facebook too, and it has caused a near burning at the stakes.

I would never do such an antic at PP but someone forgot P had a healthy sense of humor, and was always ready, willing, and able to throw some shade.

I don't like it, it's equivalent to going to someones tombstone and joking around with it. I don't like it. As a martial artist, I have visited Bruce Lee's grave here in my town many times, it's not a place to go if I want to be silly, anyone thinking otherwise is just fucked up. Now, if we're talking events or things like that, it's diffferent. But even still, I don't like the prevalence and the silliness of some of the Elvis imitator events that I've taken part in, too much emphasis on the vegas years, the excesses and the the levity that it all entails, complete with donuts topped with bacon bits and no respect for the absolute validity of his artistry and impact on the world. It's hard for me to see the admiration in that so I stopped going. One of Elvis' men called the imitators "asshats" and I think he had a point. With Prince, if I make it to PP soon, I won't touch anything, I won't be laughing and joking, it'll be more like a pilgrimage to me. So yes, people are free to goof off all they want, stick fingers in his nose, draw a huge cock on him or whatever they want to do and I'm free not to like it.

She looks pretty good to me--no make-up in that photo. It isn't her looks that are the problem; it's the wrong attitude.

There are always people doing stupid stuff, no surprise at all. What does surprise me is how happy everyone visiting the park looks on their instagrams in general. I am going in April and get a little teary just thinking about it. I have not seen many photos of people who appear somber or reflective during their visit. I have no desire to have my photo taken with a poster or at his piano, I want to breath the air and feel the vibration, but it still make me sad.
