Prince Is Music: Induct Prince Into The Songwriters Hall Of FameWe would like to inquire as to why Prince is not being inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame for 2017? You say, "you honor those whose work represents a spectrum of the most beloved songs from the world's popular music songbook." Again, I ask in dismay... why is Prince not being inducted?! Listen to any Prince album, listen to the many bodies of work he has done for other artists. No artist has a wider array of beloved songs! No artist has done more with their music than Prince! No artist has done more to heal the human condition. No artist has done more to enlighten us mentally and spiritually! No artist has given more of themselves to ensure a world filled with love than Prince! Prince is more than just a musician, in purest terms... Prince IS and will ALWAYS be MUSIC! This was the following statement said in 2016.
At the ceremony, Songwriters Hall of Fame co-chairmen Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff also told the media they would make sure that Prince, who died in April, would be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame sooner rather than later. So here’s hoping that organizers will honor the Purple One at next year’s induction ceremony.

Go directly to the SHOF and the media. A petition, stating that "we would like to" only asks for permission to do so. It's an unnecessary intermediary and time-waster.
